  1. Spent several hours today, trying to get a good F4 gun cam look.
  2. Hm. I installed tac view yesterday, after not having had it for a couple of years. And watching a regular track from a mission i did a few days ago. The track stops for several seconds. Then runs for a few seconds. Then stops for something like 10 seconds. And then it runs normally the rest of the track. Is this similar to your Tacview problem?
  3. I mean it's half as strong as your average German character in an American movie. Or that Austrian farm boy known as Arnold Schwarzenegger
  4. Those gauges and stick doesn't look too different from a MiG21. The stick also looks top heavy. Like you could rip it out and use it as a medieval mace.
  5. Is that seriously a Su35? That looks like something from the 50s with with some 80s tv screens bolted on.
  6. With America busy in south east Asia. The soviet Union invades northern Norway, but also ignoring the Swedish and Finnish neutrality and occupies parts of those counties too. On top of that the US carrier USS Constellation is attacked and sunk. With the surviving aircraft already in the air seeking refuge in Norway and Sweden. A motley crew of Norwegian, Swedish, German, French and US aircraft have spread out in Norway, Sweden and Finland. From Kiruna in northern Sweden a small task force will try and get air dominance and take back Banak airbase in Norway. But to do that we need to take out two SAM batteries the Soviets have set up in the southern part of Finnmark plateau. One of SA3 and one of SA2. Both batteries covered with about a dozen AAA cannons. The CAP is Norwegian F5s, French Mirage F1 and Luftwaffe F4s. Luckily the Soviets didn’t expect such a powerful NATO rection so fast and so only MiG21s are in the area (so far) The strike will be made by 3 F4s with Shriek anti radiation missiles. 3 Navy F4s with dumb bombs. 3 F4s with cluster and dumb bombs(my flight) and 3 Viggen with rockets.

  8. It will change the 13mm ammo to the correct amount, which is good in a realistic simulator. And instead of 65 30mm with the range of a snowball. You get 200 20mm. Which is far more useful in fighter vs fighter combat. I doubt it will pass integrity check.
  9. It feels small when you try and turn your head. As it's really easy sticking the head out of the canopy.
  10. The A20 AI model doesn't even come close to the current quality expected of an AI unit. Let a lone a full module. It looks noticeably worse than the B17 AI unit.
  11. Yes, I only fly VR.
  12. I have no problems with Kola, Afghanistan is much worse. Flying the F4 on Kola is smooth and nice.
  13. Yes, can AI aircraft now use mavs and other guided weapons.
  14. Title says it all.
  15. I don't actually have anything left to buy. So sale is of little importance for me. So I'll just continue to enjoy the Kola news
  16. Fantastic news on the Kola map. I've been using the winter textures as they look much better in the low detailed areas than the summer stuff. So I'm looking forward to using the summer terrain again.
  17. Indeed, quite embarrassing, 4 years of DCS, and a simple option menu tick or lack there off has been bothering me for a year, no idea how that got turned off in the first place. I just made sure that I had ticked the sound for radio, and that was all that was needed.
  18. That wasn't it, I changed the audio from default to specifically Pimax in game and no change, I set a flight of Viggens to report waypoint, but heard nothing as they passed it, and it would be odd that I can hear ATC, AWACS and my own flight, but not allied lights and that should have something to do with it.
  19. I still have this problem, I've now deleted all traces of Vaicom, but I still can't hear any other flights on my set frequency, only my own flight.
  20. 70s Phantom. Blurry with faded colours and a full bush.

  22. A little known incident happened in 72, “somehow” 3 Soviet MiG21 had flown across Finland and Sweden without detection, and flown into Norwegian territory, flying straight towards Bodø Air Base. And “somehow” two American F-4s happened to be straight in the path. What follows has been kept secret from everyone not involved for over 50 years. But here is video proof. After using 6 missiles to shot down 2 MiGs, my wingman naturally running out of fuel(or shot down, don't really know) I discovered I had less than 1000 pounds of fuel left. At first I thought I was boned, but I happened to be almost directly east of Bodø, when Jester set in the Tacan numbers I had to just do a tiny correction and I lined up perfectly, I spent some fuel to get over 20-25 000 feet, and put her in idle, and I have to say, she glides good on idle, burning less than 1000 pounds an hour and having some 700 pounds, things were going well and we semi glided like that for 40 nautical miles. If I had judged my landing better I could have landed like that, but I got a little short and had to use high mil power to stop slamming into the ground a few meters before the runway. I did my best landing ever in the F-4, which was surprising as 10 minutes earlier I thought I was gonna have to bail out. Only time Jester hasn’t bitched about my landing. Fuel gauge showed 490 pounds left when I stopped. So except for the loss of my wingman, I think it went quite well, 2 migs and a good landing, will be bragged about in the pilot bar, but since there are only Norwegians there, all I’ll get is some small nods and some grunts.

  24. It works great, and it's definitely more enjoyable with the 20mm over the 30mm. It's effective against the Mustang and probably the Spitfire. Not sure if a single 20mm will be very effective a P47.
