  1. Every single DCS user could write a novel about ED prioritising the wrong thing. I have dozens of posts on this forum doing just that, lack of priory on ww2, lack of priory om ground and ship AI particularly their accuracy (something many others have asked for and after 5+ years ED has indeed started to work on that) lack of fleshed out AI assets and infantry (again something ED might now be working on) I could go on for hours about what i feel ED, should prioritise. I would love save game ability, particularly for those long ww2 missions that are in Reflected's campaigns. Especially now that I have a vr headset the runs in batteries. Except for campaign missions, most play relatively short mission, (sub 1 hour) we see this in the other sims to. If their mission goes past 45 minutes they are less interested.
  2. I literally said, it's not impossible, just quite complicated, and comparing a flight sim with far more moving parts than your average games makes it sound much simpler than it is. If it had been that simple then DCS would have had a save feature long ago? And so would other flight sims.
  3. Because if you are fighting through a corridor in your standard game or even an rgp. Everything is static. Very litter dynamic differences, bad guys are always more or less the same place. In a flight simulator you can have hundreds or thousands of units all moving and reacting dynamically. It's like saying because a tricycle is easy to make, therfore the lunar rover is easy to make.
  4. Many games have, very few flightsims have a save feature. It's not impossible, but probably quite complicated, give all the thousands of moving parts that must tracked and saved.
  5. British used their Chinnocks in Afghanistan as troop transports for all their missions long and short. Even if it was just a 10 minute hop in a helicopter, they'd used the hook. Also medivac.
  6. Scaling the explosions better would help too. Rocket explosions (especially the ww2 rockets) are too big. While 1000lb and 2000lb bomb explosions are too small.
  7. A full moon dogfight over snowy Norway. 1 F-16 with with AIM-9L/Ms vs 3 MiG21s with R60 Ms It's very nice of the AI to flare like crazy so they are easier to spot in the half darkness.
  8. So it's nice to have civ traffic on, in the cities, so they don't look so empty, but it looks really stupid when they just drive straight through a roadblock you've setup. Is there a trigger where any civ vehicle that goes into a trigger zone just disappears?
  9. No I ment Constantly computed impact point on the hud.
  10. So until 2002. F16s had to bomb like it was 1944?
  11. Or was that a later upgrade?
  12. The lack of emplaced Heavy machine guns is very noticeable. If we look forward to Vientam the DHSK was the main anti aircraft weapon in the south. Even stuff like Zu23 was very rare south of the DMZ. Having read stories from Helikopter pilots in Vientam, they could fly 1 or 2 tours and only see small arms and the 12.7. Same with fast movers that mostly flew south of the DMZ, if they got a briefing about 37mm guns in the area, they knew it was serious stuff.
  13. I fired my .50 cal fron the Kiwoa and lit a truck on fire. I also lit stone wall on fire. Didn't know the .50cal had napalm rounds.
  14. So I play VR, and my Pimax has plenty of quality with out using MSAA etc. But when I record the track, I just have a humble 1440p screen, and I crank all the graphics options to the max. Is there any graphical improvement to get by using sharpening when you just use MSAA x4? Or is it mostly to compensate when using DLSS/FSR?
  15. Yes, new modeles with new animations are planned to be somewhat related to the development of Afghanistan map/COIN maps. We've seen a few fractions of seconds of US troops marching and a new insurgent type model firing.
  16. Thank, you that is reassuring. I found it very nice to ground skim in the Kiowa in the well made parts. If I can do that going down Helmand river in the future. I'll be very happy. I was one who was very positive to the Afghanistan map while others just felt it was another sand map. Given this was the first major combat theater for Norway after WW2 with both ground and Air. And the myriad of books about fighter and helicopter combat. I was really looking forward to escorting Chinnocks down Helmand valley in my Apache. So that just made my disappointment even bigger when I literally thought something was wrong with my download. So for now I'll keep an eye on the map and look for texture and graphical improvements.
  17. First Kiowa mission in Afghanistan.
  18. I use steam. I got the refund even though I had gone past the 2 hour limit
  19. Kola is still in very early early access, and only been out for 2 months.
  20. Can't blow up bridges either.
  21. Have not noticed it. Make sure the helo is balanced. If you have stores on one side but not the other, I've found the small helicopters want to roll and kill you. If you try a low hover when you take off.
