So it's nice to have civ traffic on, in the cities, so they don't look so empty, but it looks really stupid when they just drive straight through a roadblock you've setup. Is there a trigger where any civ vehicle that goes into a trigger zone just disappears?

Were the first F16 blocks delivered with CCIP?

So until 2002. F16s had to bomb like it was 1944? -
Or was that a later upgrade?

The lack of emplaced Heavy machine guns is very noticeable. If we look forward to Vientam the DHSK was the main anti aircraft weapon in the south. Even stuff like Zu23 was very rare south of the DMZ. Having read stories from Helikopter pilots in Vientam, they could fly 1 or 2 tours and only see small arms and the 12.7. Same with fast movers that mostly flew south of the DMZ, if they got a briefing about 37mm guns in the area, they knew it was serious stuff.

Winter on Kola. -
I fired my .50 cal fron the Kiwoa and lit a truck on fire. I also lit stone wall on fire. Didn't know the .50cal had napalm rounds.

So I play VR, and my Pimax has plenty of quality with out using MSAA etc. But when I record the track, I just have a humble 1440p screen, and I crank all the graphics options to the max. Is there any graphical improvement to get by using sharpening when you just use MSAA x4? Or is it mostly to compensate when using DLSS/FSR?

Yes, new modeles with new animations are planned to be somewhat related to the development of Afghanistan map/COIN maps. We've seen a few fractions of seconds of US troops marching and a new insurgent type model firing.

Thank, you that is reassuring. I found it very nice to ground skim in the Kiowa in the well made parts. If I can do that going down Helmand river in the future. I'll be very happy. I was one who was very positive to the Afghanistan map while others just felt it was another sand map. Given this was the first major combat theater for Norway after WW2 with both ground and Air. And the myriad of books about fighter and helicopter combat. I was really looking forward to escorting Chinnocks down Helmand valley in my Apache. So that just made my disappointment even bigger when I literally thought something was wrong with my download. So for now I'll keep an eye on the map and look for texture and graphical improvements.

Kola is still in very early early access, and only been out for 2 months. -
Can't blow up bridges either.

Have not noticed it. Make sure the helo is balanced. If you have stores on one side but not the other, I've found the small helicopters want to roll and kill you. If you try a low hover when you take off.

Has something changed with ground units fire at point
Gunfreak replied to Squiggs's topic in Mission Editor
Thanks! A bit of a chore having to set up that trigger. But at least it can be fixed. It seems like they run out of ammo and can't resupply. As they didn't even fire at when I was hovering righer over them. -

Gunfreak replied to Squiggs's topic in Mission Editor
If I set infantry or any other to ground units to fire at point and set an truck next to them. They will fire of their ammo, reload and begin firing again after not too long a time. However in my latest mission that didn't happen. Infantry stopped firing and so did the mortar. Added track afganistightseeing-20240715-114135.rar -
Small scale but high detail maps for low level operations
Gunfreak replied to markturner1960's topic in DLC Map Wish List
I like the concept but untill recently the quality of ground/helicopter combat and graphics hasn't really made that useful. No point in having super high detail terrain when you only have 3 choices of infantry. Us/Russian/insurgents and some off those models looks like their from the original red alert game. And their animations might be worse than red alert. But with new infantry models with much better animations. These kinda things can be possible. But we will need lots of assists both ground and air. Can't really do Mogadishu without Blackhawks and little birds. Or without somali fighters. You are basically adding a whole new type of gameplay to DCS, instead of sandbox random stuff thrown together. You need complete packs. Kinda like those other flight games. The pack includes map, and a handful of assets to make a proper operation. Some of the assets already in DCS can of course be used and those assets added in those packs. Will populate main DCS(falklands war British infantry would be perfect for any cold war British war or what if war. ) -
I would say ground textures on a map is just as much a feature as a weapons system is on an aircraft. I do hope it's just standard bad communication from ED's part. They are very good at not communicating good. And that they can fix it. The reason I'm so miffed as I am is I genuinely thought something wrong had happened to my download. It looks so bad I didn't think that it was supposed to look like that (and I wouldn't have thought so even if ED has clearly stated that also South West Afghanistan is far from finished and very early access.) It did ruin my day. I refunded the full Afghanistan map and bought just the South West. I'm willing to risk 25 bucks to see if it does get better. And tomorrow I'll try another flight in just the limited hand made parts around Lashkargah.

I do hope the new infantry models/animations doesn't just include insurgents and US troops. But particularly British. The second biggest NATO contingent in Afghanistan, British also had very distinctive uniforms with helmets and gear that does not look like a generic American soldier. I would love to recreate missions a long the Helmand river. With correct British infantry and vehicles. With American Apaches and Chinnocks as stand ins for British.

Which part of Afghanistan is that. Only the south western part of the map is somewhat developed.
