Flaming Cliffs 2024 | Supercarrier Updates | Launcher

As far as I know there was never planned a MiG21 FC4, MiG21 is Mag3 and not ED, so probably not something ED can just do -
Welcome to FOB Husky

Just one mag with 150 rounds.

Since 2.9 it's a bit of a crap shoot. You still need to use a dedicated server. They've mostly fixed your aircraft randomly crashing into the ground. Air to air is very hit and miss, even short dogfights of 2 minutes (HOBS and JHMCS instantly breaks tracks now and then) Ground attack seems to mostly work most of the time. Aircraft like F14 about F4 breaks tracks more than many other modules. I can sometimes fly a 90 minute missions. And everything works great. Track works perfectly each time. I still need to run through the track between 4-8 times to get various angles etc. But at least it doesn't break. Other times a 5 minute mission, breaks also right away (like many dogfight vidoes in the F4.

I ask a ground unit to hold fire, it still shots, I ask a ground unit to hold, it still wanders(I turned off disperse under fire) I set ground unit to immortal it still dies... I understand that some orders seem to cancel out other order(like turning off AI, seems to nullify immortal) But why can't the orders be absolute. Hold(Don't move an inch. Hold fire, don't fire under any circumstances. Fire at point(only fire at that point noting else) Restrict targets air targets(stop shooting at air targets, this one doesn't seem to work ever) Immortal( don't die) Invisible(AI shouldn't see the unit) etc. I just want my targets to stand still, fire at the point I've told them, and nothing else, don't move about, don't start blowing up stuff I've asked you not to blow up.

What did I think of Kiowa? It needs to improve in some areas!
Gunfreak replied to ThorBrasil's topic in DCS: OH-58 Kiowa
Have they specified, in what conditions or always? Afghanistan is not a great helicopter country. So if their main experience is in Afghanistan. That might not be valid at sea level.- 591 replies

I like the current system, but then I got lots of buttons. I use my Winwing F18 throttle to control the. MMS etc. And then i use the various buttons and hats ony my Blackhawk collective grip to control the AI. Once I get used to and remember the buttons I can fly ut just fine without the need for the AI hud. I get my helicopter were I want it. Hand it over to the AI, jump to the left. Do the MMS stuff, while make minor corrections to the AI to get a good view with the MMS.

Rocketman!

ED are making new infantry models with better animation. Don't know know how easy those will be to use for modding though.
-
Once the correct parts of Afghanistan is out. You could probably just make a campaign based on thr book Scouts Out!
-
Yeah last year we got 3 new toys. 2 maps and 1 aircraft. Of these 1 map has not gotten any updates since release, and well the F15 has it's own drama. In the span of 2 months this year. We will get 2 maps and 3 aircraft.
-
Better to wait for Afghanistan and or Iraq map. So you can make a campaign based on real operations.
-
That's true, forget it was planned for this year.
-
I get crashes if I use vr controllers to grab the M4. And the cyclics in the cockpit goes crazy.
-
I'm curious what comes after the Chinnock and Afghanistan. Don't get me wrong even if no new modules come this year. It's still a very good year. Only possible candidates I know of that might be close enough for release this year is the F4U Corsair (but i doubt it) and the La-7, possibly the C130?

My first and not very authoritative impression of the Kiwoa. Usually my first attempt in a new module is only a few minutes. But both the F4 and Kiowa were so nice to fly they ended up longer. Having watched Camso's vidoes I know what I needed to bind. With a crapload of peripherals. I set up my stick close to the real thing. Used my F18 throttle to bind the copilot stuff. While my collective buttons mostly deal with the AI pilot. Take off went smooth, even if I didn't get the hover. Flying it is so smooth. Using my force feedback stick and force trim. Once in forward flight I could trim it to be stable enough for me to check the F10 maps even at 50 feet. I got into trouble when engaging the enemy. Partly because I had forgotten which button I'd bound for AI hover and Partly because I had problems getting the M4 to work. I blew up a neighbourhood with rockets trying to take out a parked truck so had to use the .50 cal. Then i flew low and fast home. Enjoying every minute of it. -
I have the Winwing force sensing stick for the F16. But I'm curious if I can use the brunner software to proper effects on the warbirds. As it is now I can dive down in the P51 at 50mph and there's very little resistance in pulling back the stick. In that other ww2 sim. If I do the same 500mph dive. I have to work quite a bit to pull the stick back.

Can't speak for random youtuber. But Casmo is the real deal both Kiwoa and Apache. And he's been wounded in action. I've not seen anyone doubt his credentials.
-
If you have super tight profile on the F16. How do you just stop it from going into(defense mode) that turns of all almost all forces. The Brunner has like 30 seconds of maximum force before it goes almost limp. I thought there had to be a basic support for FFB to do anything. That's why people had been waiting years for the Gazelle to get force feedback support. If the brunner software is that powerful. I might have to give it another try.

Ohh-H 58 this is fun -
Blackhawk is a mod and as far as I know it does not have any support for FFB
-
Yeah, also in DCS the force feedback effects are module to module dependent, so F4(once you've set it up right, the Viggen and F14 has very good FFB effects) while the Warbirds have very limited effects, yes they are there, but they are weak and not very impressive(that other WW2 sim has far better FFB effects in their planes) But yeah I can't really fly Rotors with out force feedback effects any more, so the blackhawk mod is a no go for me.
