Wish we got some videos like that Mirage F1 Preview that Aerges made. Bunch of in-game cockpit footage, flicking switches, seeing instruments move, that sort of stuff. These stills (on top of the flying footage from the '2022 and Beyond' video) don't really much justice to what progress they appear to have made.

I think this exists already on the JF's radar or at least did a couple months back. I noticed a sorta memory or extrapolation when someone was attempting to notch the radar but was able to notch the radar only for a second then be reacquired. It's around 4-8 seconds I think?

This is due to limitations within DCS. The engine and API cannot do something as complicated as the missile falling back to the AWG-9 if it doesn't see anything.

I think this was posted here but got deleted. Here's an image of the SE in A2A mode with 2 AIM-120Bs while tracking a target with the radar.

Was sorta confirmed in the 2022 video but here’s the set in stone words from Prowler. Also this disclaimer

Using an older screenshot here but the placement of the switch should be the same. The switch that is below/labelled CCTL.

You probably have it bound to an axis and there is a bit of drift. That's my assumption from what I see here. If I am correct, assign a deadzone and you should be fine.

They do plan on overhauling the IR modeling in general so that might allow for better and more realistic IRST integration in the future. Who knows, maybe the soon to be F-4 will be one of the first high fidelity modules to include an IRST. Smh I can find on on google by googling /s. When 10th gen fighters start rolling out, maybe we'll see an F-14D or F-14B (U). Maybe HeatBlur should partner with IndiaFoxtEcho since IndiaFoxtEcho made an F-14D mod for FSX

New Splash screen Also the main image theme. Idk if this is going to be official for release since it's just a screenshot from the 2022 and beyond video

Loads of juicy footage in here.

Exterior pic is taken at a hanger in RAF Mount Pleasant on the South Atlantic Map. Pretty neat pictures imo.

Ok thanks! Was wondering how to make the most of the radar with the new patch. Seems like you get a little better range now with the high closure rate option (~50nm target acquisition). Btw, does the contact history mean memory mode time similar the F-18 with it being 1-4 seconds or is it using the 1-4 radar bars as the history?

I understand that the information pertaining to the F-14D and F-14B (U) is scarce at best and nonexistent at worse which is the reason why Heatblur didn't make those variants yet. But I'm curious what would be missing if Heatblur were to model the F-14D and F-14B (U) using the information that they have today? Like many others, I'd really like to sit in the back of an F-14D one day and use that cool looking DDD and PTID.

I don't think they did. All I've seen is that they said they found some leads that may point in that direction. Not that they actually will do it. You can scroll up all the way to the beginning of this topic and you'll see this: It's a matter of when and how rather than yes or no. I hope HB will be able to find some more info on the performance of the AIM-54C since I've heard things ranging from the AIM-54C having the ability to be manually commanded to go active by the RIO to better kinetic performance thanks to the newer motor. Forcing the missile to go active will certainly be something super useful when dealing with a situation where you have to break support. For anyone who wants to sift through the below topic, you can probably see the previous AIM-54C Improvement discussion

I personally would like the possibility of the integration of the Link-4 datalink so you could talk to F-14s while in F2F modes although I am not 100% sure if this is actually possible with the amount of info that I have.

Active Missile Look Down Notch Width Seems Excessive
DSplayer replied to nighthawk2174's topic in Weapon Bugs
They plan on overhauling the AI for the F-14 anyway. No use just bandaiding a system that is going to be replaced or overhauled anyway. -
Very cool. Where plane preorder? /s Also the coordinates mean that they're flying on the Syria Map.
-
API for the AIM-54 is still old AF. Gotta wait till they roll out the new API for any meaningful fixes to happen. I do not expect them to bandaid an old system that is getting replaced soon anyway.

I'm going to keep my fingers crossed for at least an in-cockpit footage of weapon employment with the radar and HUD.

Now this is epic. Finally a video with the F-15E instead of just an image.
