Sorry you feel that way. Just out of interest, did you read the posts that lead up to that last one you quoted? As it stands, whether I know the basics or more is irrelevent. According to what I've seen and know about tactics, spamming (as we refer to it within the flightsim world) is not a tactic used by any air force. If you can prove me wrong, that's fine. I'm always open to learning new stuff. As to the rest of your post. I fully agree everything you said.....Well apart from the bit about spamming "not totally unreasonable" (But I wouldn't agree with that ;) ) If the missile is not as accurate as it should be (with regard to the latest details available) then I hope it's adjusted in a patch. But how much of the data about the 120 (and other missiles modelled in the game) is fact and how much is guesswork?

Suntrace. Dream on. You obviously haven't got a clue about real world A-2-A tactics. And I'm not going to waste my time with someone who's only form of argument is to reverse what the other party said. You want to believe that the USAF use that as a tactic, you help yourself m8. You want to prove me wrong? Go for it. Or go back to playing airquake. Up to you m8. I don't particularly care either way.

Twist your words? No. Merely read between the lines. Funny it was ok for you to treat Wolverine's post in the same manner eh? And as to your definition of what's fair or not that depends on what you're wanting to do. If you're happy playing airquake then fine. But not if you're interested in simulating something close to actual military operations. It's hard enough to do with a PC simulator due to obvious linitations, spamming just makes it worse. Different horses for different courses. It also seems to me your definition of a crybaby is someone that doesn't agree with you. You might want to check that one in a dictionary.

New Fansite up " Grizzly´s Cave"

What he said!! Looks very good. One of the best I've seen without a doubt. -
AFAIK, If you set up a a flight path with a setion marked begin and end loop, the AI flight will fly from the begin loop point to the end loop point and then continue to refly the waypoints in between until it's low on fuel at which time it will RTB. I find it particularly useful for setting up cycle track routes for AWACs or tankers. I would suppose it would be useful for setting up CAP flights as well, although I haven't tried that.

How do u guys land SU25T on Kuz?
Jester_159th replied to Kenan's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
I haven't tried landing on the Kuz with the 25T, but you're wrong about the drogue chute deployment speed. On a runway, I deploy it as soon as my front wheel settles (approx 200km/h). It works fine. The only time it collapses or rips loose is if you deploy it before fully shutting your throttles down. -

Russian Add On or not?

Don't hold your breath for the F-16. In the same thread that was mentioned in, they also said that those were the current plans, and things could well change. And I'm certain I'd seen a post from one of the devs where they said they weren't going to do the F-16 at all, but concentrate on the MiG instead. I've been searching the forums for over half an hour now...but I can't seem to find either thread where those posts were made. I dunno, but I'm pretty certain I didn't imagine it. -
I agree. I've been saying for a while. with the emphesis of the new aircraft in LOMAC being ground attack, the groun unit AI could use some revamping to make it behave more realistically. River fording capability is just one of the things it could do with (for vehicles that can do it IRL of course). Better pathfinding and a wider range of waypoint orders would also be a massive plus.

Most fuel efficient Speed/Height ?
Jester_159th replied to Brit_Radar_Dude's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Very possibly. But I would have thought a manual override would be fitted to an automated cross-feed system. -
Most fuel efficient Speed/Height ?
Jester_159th replied to Brit_Radar_Dude's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Just one thing on this: I've taken minor damage in one wing (flying the 25T) and got a fuel leak. At the time I had about a 65-70% full fuel load. Within a matter of minutes I had a low fuel situation. Surely if hit in one wing, it shouldn't drain my entire fuel load, but only the tank in that wing? -
Are u going to buy 1.2 ?
Jester_159th replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
Ragtag. Sorry, but this (whether 1.2 will have Starforce) has been discussed in a previous thread and that poster got a similar response. And as BritGliderPilot pointed out in that thread: Those with Starforce problems are in the minority..... And those of that minority who've actually ASKED for help have usually had their problems sorted out, either by Starforce, ED or with the help of the forum members. The whole Starforce thing has been totally blown out of all proportion. I'm sorry, like it or not, that's a fact. And I'm afraid that it's been rehashed so many times that it's got to the stage where a statement like you just made is greeted with derrision, simply because folks are fed up of having to repeat the same information and debunk the same myths over and over again. It may not be fair, but I'm afraid that's the fault of other people who've gone out of their way to exagerate the issues. You've just reaped what others have sewn. Afterall, if Starforce WAS as bad as it's been painted, I really doubt so many of us would be commenting on how much we've enjoyed Flaming Cliffs. And the poll results above certainly wouldn't have 81% (at the moment) saying that, without question or regard to Starforce they'll be buying it. To be quite honest, I'd normally have reponded to a statement like you made (if I responded at all) in a similar manner to Wolverine. But after noticing your post count and registration date, I just thought that maybe you missed the Starforce debate when it was at it's worst on these forums. You're obviously entitled to your opinion. But with my experiences with Starforce protected products, IMHO you'll be depriving yourself what looks like it's going to be another excellent add on to the LOMAC series. -
One thing I hope they look at during development is some improvements to the ground unit AI and pathfinding. Nothing major, a few more formation or order options Being able to set a unit to "shoot and scoot" for example, improving the AI's ability to change between on- and off-road status (Going on- to off road is ok but the other way round, although the AI follows the road it drives about three vehicle widths off the right hand side of the road.....or is this something I'm doing wrong? If so please let me know). One other thing I hope they correct is when you destroy a structure (Building or bridge), if there is a unit on it at the time, that unit just remains suspended in midair.

Are u going to buy 1.2 ?
Jester_159th replied to zaGURUinzaSKY's topic in Lock On: Flaming Cliffs 1 & 2
NO doubt about it. I bought FC via download on the day of release and never regretted it for a moment. In fact I consider it some of the best money I've ever spent on PC simulations. (I've had a damn sight more enjoyment out of it than FS2004 for example). Everything we've seen so far about 1.2 looks extremely impressive, both the list of features promised and the screenshots. I see no reason to think I'll be any less happy after purchasing Black Shark than I was after buying Flaming Cliffs. And now they've given us a few hints about their future plans, I like the direction ED are moving in more and more. I think (barring unforseen disasters like falling off a cliff or getting strangled by the wife!!) I'll be an ED customer for a long time to come. -
Before getting an X-52 a few months back I had two Saitek sticks. A Cyborg Platimum and prior to that one I can't remember the name/ number of (but it was quite an old one that's now discontinued). I've never had any problems with any of them. You weren't very specific about exactly what problems you were having, so it's difficult to help much. What problems are you having? And were those problems with different sticks on different PC's or different sticks on the same PC? Also have you tried Saitek's Support centre's FAQ for your stick? http://www.saitek.com/uk/supp/st50_support.htm

http://forum.lockon.ru/showthread.php?t=10261 Not new at all and easilly fixed. As you'll see from the link I had something very similar. Try setting Catalyst Driver AI to NONE and disable ATI Tray Tools. Sorted everything out for me. Might be well worth your giving it a try.

This always amazes me. Whatever the cause of the tragedy, be it terrorism or natural disaster, if someone starts a thread as a medium for us to send our best wishes and support to those effected, within two pages the political opinions and agendas start popping up. I thought we were supposed to be a mature community? You are of course entitled to your opinions, but that entitlement carries a resposibility with it. That being the resposibility to know when and where to state those opinions. It boils down to simple consideration for other people. I was taught this principle when I was at school. It appears to me that this lesson has been dropped from the curiculum. It doesn't matter in the slightest who's "right" or who's "wrong," especially in the case of corrupting a thread such as this (or the thread sending best wishes to those effected by the London bombings). Think before you post. If you can't think: Don't post. -

I'm with you. I've found that in general it's better to be pessimistic than optimistic. Afterall. A pessimist can only ever be pleasantly suprised. An optimist can only ever be disappointed!! ;) -

From a mission building point of view, I'd say more of georgia, Armenia and eastern Turkey would be a good move with regard to expanding the current map. At a later date (probably in aonther project....or more likely only in my fantasies!!) Scandanavia and north west Russia would make an interesting theatre of ops. Not only would it open up some amazing scenery (Fjords, glaciers etc) but it would open up the opportunity for a whole range of aircraft that AFAIK have never been modelled in a modern combat flight sim (Sweden's SAAB's come to mind).

http://www.159fighter-regiment.co.uk/ Here's the link, Ryke. Bear had posted a thread about it, but with all the good news about future developments etc from ED, it's slipped down the list a bit. It is still work in progress, so some of the areas are blank and the links page hasn't as yet been updated, but hopefully you'll be able to get an idea of where we're going. -
Try turning off the Catalyst Driver AI and ATI Tray tools. Can't guarentee that it'll help, but it sorted out some very nasty texture corruption problems I was having with 5.7's (and 5.6's after rolling the drivers back). According to Omega's FAQ section on his site, the driver AI is still a beta development and can cause some weird problems.
