I like it. I like it. We want it. We want it. @M F1 It must be exciting to develop and beta test the the jet. We look forward to flying it when it is available. MFT

Can we have a map that has Cambodia, Thailand, and Viet Nam? This map is highly likely to be popular and used frequently by virtual pilots. We can use the AI B-52s, along with the Mig-21s and F-4s, to create exciting new missions as well as recreation of actual military campaigns in the Viet Nam war. MFT
-
When I read online information, I found at least two instances where B-52 tail gunners downed Mig-21 jets. This occurred during the Viet Nam war. MFT
-
I wanted the option to select the tail guns. We can place attacking jets in a world of hurt when they are attacking the b-52s.

Island Chain Strategy From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia Jump to navigationJump to search It has been suggested that First island chain be merged into this article. (Discuss) Proposed since December 2021. First and Second Island Chains at East Asia island arcs. The Island Chain Strategy is a strategic maritime containment plan first conceived by American foreign policy statesman John Foster Dulles in 1951, during the Korean War.[1] It proposed surrounding the Soviet Union and the People's Republic of China with naval bases in the West Pacific to project power and restrict sea access.[2] The "island chain" concept did not become a major theme in American foreign policy during the Cold War, but after the dissolution of the Soviet Union has remained a major focus of both American and Chinese geopolitical and military analysts to this day. For the United States, the island chain strategy is a significant part of the force projection of the U.S. military in the Far East. For China, the concept is integral to its maritime security and fears of strategic encirclement by U.S. armed forces. For both sides, the island chain strategy emphasizes the geographical and strategic importance of Taiwan.[3] Contents 1First Island Chain 2Second Island Chain 3Third Island Chain 4Proposed Fourth and Fifth Island Chains 5Target and events 6References First Island Chain[edit] Main article: First island chain The First Island Chain is defined as the chain of islands that begins at the Kuril Islands, runs through the Japanese Archipelago, the Ryukyu Islands and the island of Taiwan, the northwestern portion of the Philippines (particularly Luzon, Mindoro and Palawan) and finishes towards Borneo, and used to extend to the Spratly Island and the southern Vietnamese coast prior to the Vietnam War. The chain also serves as the maritime boundaries between the East China Sea and the Philippine Sea, and the South China Sea and the Sulu Sea. The First Island Chain was conceptualized during the Cold War as the first line of defense to contain the spread of influence of the Soviet Union and its allied socialist countries in East and Southeast Asia. The midpoint and key part of the first chain was – and still is — Taiwan. Because the island chain is composed of a series of landmasses, it is also called the "unsinkable aircraft carrier", especially in reference to Taiwan. Second Island Chain[edit] The Second Island Chain can refer to two different interpretations, but the version most commonly used refers to the island chain which is formed by Japan's Bonin Islands and Volcano Islands, in addition to the Mariana Islands (most notably Guam, an unincorporated American overseas territory with a heavily fortified military base), western Caroline Islands (Yap and Palau), and extends to Western New Guinea.[1] The chain serves as the eastern maritime boundary of the Philippine Sea. As it is located within the middle portion of the West Pacific, it acts as a second strategic defense line for the United States.[1] Third Island Chain[edit] The Third Island Chain is the final part of the strategy. This island chain begins at the Aleutian Islands and runs south across the center of the Pacific Ocean towards Oceania, through the Hawaiian Islands, American Samoa and Fiji, to reach New Zealand.[1] Australia serves as the staple between the second and third chains. Proposed Fourth and Fifth Island Chains[edit] The Asia Maritime Transparency Initiative (AMTI), a group under the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS), argues that a fourth and a fifth island chain should be added to an overall understanding of Chinese maritime strategy in the Indo-Pacific. Whereas the first three island chains are located in the Pacific Ocean, these two newly proposed ones are in the Indian Ocean, which would reflect the growing Chinese interest in the region. The proposed fourth chain would include places like Lakshadweep, the Maldives and Diego Garcia to disrupt the String of Pearls waypoints towards the Persian Gulf such as the Gwadar Port and Hambantota; while the proposed fifth chain would originate from Camp Lemonnier in the Gulf of Aden, around the Horn of Africa and along the entire East African coastline through the Mozambique Channel (between Mozambique and Madagascar, including the Comoro Islands) towards South Africa, to encircle the Chinese naval base at Doraleh, Djibouti and sabotage China's trade with Africa.[1] Target and events[edit] The primary target of the doctrine was originally the Soviet Union; however, additional targets also included the People's Republic of China, Vietnam, and North Korea. After the dissolution of the Soviet Union in 1991 and China's economic prominence in the early 21st century, China became the major target of the doctrine. @MAXsennaFrom what I understand, ED and its vendors focus on the details. For example, at least 14 real-world Tomcats were photographed and scanned to create the F-14 we use (or abuse) in DCS. The buttons, levers, sounds, and much more are very realistic. Additionally, many years are invested in creating the various jets and choppers from scratch. In the real world, we see various comments and viewpoints on many subjects in the forums. Reading the forums show recurring themes, requested features, desired maps, and miscellaneous things. Yet, the forums are a gold mine of opportunity. If one searches, then there are topics that people do not think about or discuss. At times, ED releases updates showing improvements to planes and enhancements to virtual environments. With sources of information, creative minds create ideas. MFT

Eastern Europe Map - Baltic, Ukraine
Mike Force Team replied to Niviuk80's topic in DLC Map Wish List
@Niviuk80 When I looked at the map you posted, it is a large map. To create this type of a map would likely take consideration time, money, and personnel to create. While ED says no to the map you are requesting, look to using the existing maps for enjoyment. MFT -
@MAXsenna Thank you for the response and the compliment. Smiling ED and their authorized vendors create exciting virtual environments on the different maps. They focus on the major details, which bring us hours of enjoyment. Based on the understanding that ED at least reads the comments in the forums, I know my suggestions are read. While it not clear if the suggestions will be implemented, I have the satisfaction of knowing somebody read them. When I view some available functionalities and features on another popular flight simulation program, I like what I see. In turn, I recommend them in ED's forum. MFT

I have a request. Please use realistic weather effects. For example, we see white caps with strong winds while flying over the ocean. For runways next to the ocean on gusty days, enable the effect ocean spray and ocean water pooling on the runways and taxiways. Add some wildlife like seals on the beaches or sharks in the water wet. Sharks like the Great White Shark or Killer Sharks. For static visuals, enable us to have demonstrations and demonstrators near the airfield. For any discarded 55 gallon drums lying around, allow us to upload a logo or graphic of our choosing that will appear. MFT

When the B-52 as AI is available, will we have the option of selecting different Pratt and Whittney engines? Will future versions of the B-52 allow us to select either 50 caliber machine guns or galling guns for the tail guns?

@Phadreus Welcome, My name is Mike and welcome. I wanted to share my experiences with buying jets. I recommend you purchase the F/A-18 before the F-16. The F/A-18 allows you to do either carrier missions or land based runway missions. The F/A-18 is more forgiving as well as easier to learn than the F-16. As for a gaming computer, I recommend an alienware with the I-9 with 4 TB with at least 32 GB for 15 inch monitor. It should cost approximately $3,800. Invest in logitech rudder pedals and in a large gaming monitor. Mike Force Team
