We need to add virtual camels to the Persian Gulf and Syria Maps. For now, we have virtual cows.

A lot of ED's map choices are... odd
Mike Force Team replied to Ben Sones's topic in DLC Map Wish List
For as long as I have subscribed to ED, they tend to keep quiet until their new planes, choppers, and maps are ready for early access release. When I looked in the forum for comments and suggestions for a Korea Map or a Strait of Taiwan Map, ED says, "No." They do not want this to get political. Many people have expressed a desire for maps for certain locations in the Far East such as the ones mentioned in this paragraph. Even though ED will capitalize from these maps and virtual pilots will use them, it appears that ED's desire to avoid unwanted negative publicity is stronger than making money. Since ED is a Russian company, there is the potential that Mr. Putin could make life difficult for them, if he wants to. I agree that there is no noticeable pattern to locations selected for maps. It appears they are "works in progress." Ideally, a global world map would be ideal for us to fly missions. But, for the virtual maps, it looks like they are time intensive to create. I have also suggested different maps and locations. In the meantime, there are two things we can do: wait and go to the forum section to recommend new maps. When I read the map suggestions' forum, there are numerous places recommended. -
When I watched the DCS World 2022 and Beyond video, there were some coordinates that flashed very quickly. The coordinates were for a location in Afghanistan. I theorize that the Afghanistan and/or Pakistan map might appear. It is possible it could appear at the end of January. This is my theory, by the way.

JFO82, I would love to see more ASW planes/choppers, too. Based on the limited response I see in the forums, only a few might be interested in this. Of course, this trend might change should more express more interest. -
Additionally, ED, please update the wiper effects so they can clear ice and snow from choppers' windshields. Thanks.
-
And now to start saving my pennies in my virtual piggy bank so I can buy the F-4s, if they are eventually made. No fun waiting for the F-4, especially when many people have asked for it.

As we get closer to the end of January, I bet ED will release more announcements about new planes, new choppers, and possibly a new dynamic campaign. This would be consist with ED's history of not announcing new products before they have been fully vetted. Additionally, we want the "good customer" discount on the new planes.
-
And here some speculation. There is a chance, albeit a remote chance, that maybe ED might offer a dynamic campaign feature/option at the end of January 2022. I know this is the approximate time when the Apache is supposed to be available to everyone.
-
If ED builds the airplane maintenance mod, then people are likely to buy it.
-
Another way to make the runways lights "movable" is to run over them with street sweepers or with lawn mowing equipment.

I like the suggestion for using a naval ship architect as a consultant for doing battle damage on ships. While the specifics are likely classified, we can make educated guesses on what might occur. Of course, when accessing a naval ship architect, they will charge premium prices for the services and expertise.
-
ED had pushed their release of certain planes such as the Apache to the end of January 2022. At the end of the month, they might have an update. My speculation, of course.

What about adding backup power generators?
-
When the F-4 is available, at some time in the future, this plan can be used in the Persian Gulf map area. It can be used for Wild Weasel missions, CAP, and interdiction. This Viet Nam era plane served the Allied Forces in the First Persian Gulf War.

As part of the ED platform, can the programmers add options/edits to allow us to perform maintenance on the jets? For example, there is a timer that tracks the wear & tear on the jets. When they reach a recommended interval, then they undergo maintenance. The ED platform creates a program that shows aircrew performing maintenance, which reflects they are maintaining the plane. Additionally, be able to control maintenance on certain parts like the jet's engine(s), the ejection seat, the plane's tires, and more. As part of refueling, add the option to do "hot fueling." It is the processing of refueling a jet with at least one engine running. This reduces the amount of time the plane spends on the ground and allows it to get back in the air more quickly.

Whenever virtual pilots are forced to eject over water, they have no virtual chance of survival. Since the pilots have no water survival gear, they are dead when they land in the water. Speaking for myself, I prefer that my virtual pilot is able to survive. I like to perform (or receive) SAR support to recover my downed pilot. Can ED create a fully functional module for the SAR missions for the following: MH-65, HH-60W, Ka-27PS, MI-17, MI-14, H-145, Sea King, and USMC Osprey. Here are some real-world products that are used for maritime survival: Here is information about an inflatable single person life raft: https://ses-safety.com/ses/isplr-inflatable-single-place-liferaft/ Here is information about a compact single person life raf: https://ses-safety.com/ses/help-pack/ ED: Make necessary changes so that virtual pilots survive water bailouts. Add options, animation, or whatever is needed, so that the downed pilots land in the water, they deploy survival life rafts, can use signal flares, and players can respond with their choppers for SAR. When virtual pilots see their pilots die virtually, it is a disappointment. ED pays close attention to the vetted flying modules, yet ignores, skips, overlooks some of the finer details. The hyperlinks above point to vetted survival equipment, which might inspire ED's programmers to create comparable survival gear that is more closely aligned to the jets and choppers on DCS World.

I am interested in learning how to fly the Viggen. When do you have time? I need someone to show me how to fly my jet. Mike

Spartan2078, I agree with you that the F-1 would be a great addition to ED and countless virtual pilots would have a blast flying it. I saw the work-in-progress drawings and saw the jet's potential. In the meantime, all we can do is wait.

There are several ways to fight windshield icing. The most common solution for light general aviation aircraft is known affectionately as the “hot plate,” which is a small, electrically operated rectangular heating element installed on the windshield, usually right in front of the pilot. They can be pretty effective but depending on the conditions may clear only a relatively small area of the windshield. Another option is a glycol-based system, which employs a mixture of glycol and water against ice. One popular system, called TKS, sprays glycol solution onto the propeller to remove ice; in single-engine aircraft, that fluid then is slung onto the windshield, providing some ice control. Some TKS installations employ a windshield spray bar. Glycol systems can provide either anti-ice or deice capabilities, sometimes both. Most aircraft powered by turbine engines have much more effective means of keeping the windshield clear. For many, hot bleed air—compressed air drawn from one or more of the turbine engine’s compressor stages is directed over the windshield. (Bleed air also is used to pressurize, heat, and cool the cabin.) This link goes to download PDF information that discusses ice and rain protection systems for different types of aircraft: https://skybrary.aero/sites/default/files/bookshelf/4452.pdf

When it is raining, the wiper blades are able to clear water from the windshield. The wiper blades move from side-to-side countless times to sweep water (rain) away on the windshield so that the driver has better viewing when looking through the windshield. In DCS, the wiper blades move back and forth, but do not clear rain when it is raining.

Can ED create a Military Sealift Command ships module? Here are examples of different ships used by the Military Sealift Command: https://sealiftcommand.com/about-msc/ships-msc
-
Can we add drizzle for weather effects? I know we have rain effects. Can we have lightning strikes on jets during thunderstorms with lightning? Can we have snow grains, ice pellets, ice crystals, hail, tornadoes, waterspouts, squalls, and volcanic ash? Can ED add the Jet Stream and make it controllable? A controllable jet stream can be used by mission creators to create unique weather situations for their virtual pilots.
-
Can ED add the ability for the pilot to designate what part of a hostile ship the anti-cruise missile will hit?

Hurrah to working wipers being planned!! Thanks for the update.
