  1. Is there a patch please for just that list perhaps so we don't have to download another 500MB for a text file fix? :)
  2. What's leaving Bangkok got to do with it than? Was there an air base there in the late 70s? Is it a jibe about an A-10 pilot never being an ACE? That seems to be the most logical/topical reference being a pilot and all, but I still think it's some dirty sexual thing. :)
  3. 1 - 4 are used by the LAAP system and 7-0 are used by the HOTAS CMS, so use 5 and 6. :)
  4. Make sure you enable the SST profile before playing.
  5. I forgot the MFCD's have a little white box "NOT SOI" when they aren't. :) So look for that. The * on the Hud would be in the space under the speed and above the weapon info. You can see that in these pictures: When I had my X52 I used SFJackBauer's config, however I changed the Airbrakes to be A and S keys on the keyboard only and removed it from the overly sensitive slider he had it mapped to.
  6. Once you have a lock (wiggling crosshairs locked on the target) press the Weapons Release button (Missile button on your joystick or RAlt-Space) to actually fire it. SOI means Sensor Of Interest. For the MFCDs like the Mav screen it means the one with the green border line around it. For the HUD it's the * on the left side of the HUD. It's what will be controlled by the slew commands and also determines what HOTAS controls do based on SOI. See the charts on page 80+ to see the differences. SPI = Sensor Point of Interest. It's basically your "target". Guided weapons will try to hit there (JDAMS for example) and you can switch all other sensors to it via China Hat Forward Long (hold V). Use TMS Forward Long (hold LCtrl-Up) to make whatever your current SOI "target" to the SPI. So a basic Maverick attack would be something like this: Slew the HUD target box to the general area you want to view (Press U for HUD SOI, slew to move the box, hold LCtrl-UP to make that loc SPI - a little line from the slew box will draw upwards.) Slave your sensors to your new SPI (Hold V, moving the TGP to point where you had marked) then switch to TGP (hold K) then slew the TGP on to your actual target. Set TGP into Point Mode (LCtrl-Up to make the little box appear on the TGP over your target) and move SPI over to it (Hold LCtrl-UP). Next switch to Mav move (press K) and slave it to SPI (Hold V). Now your Mav should be pointing at your TGP target, slew it slightly and it should lock if you're in range and it's contrasted correctly (can also try LCtrl-Up to force lock?). Once locked, weapons release (RAlt-Space) and F6 to watch the show! :) After safely breaking away that is! Sounds like a lot to do, but once you get the hang of it, it's quite quick (with a proper HOTAS that is). If you haven't seen it, I made a map of HOTAS keyboard commands the other night to help visualize what to click when you read HOTAS command like China Aft or something.
  7. Under normal circumstances you should just have to slew the Mav onto the target and it'll lock on it's own, no need to push anything. In some modes (like Force Correlate) you can use the TMS to lock, but simply slewing it usually works for me. The G and K Mavs can use Force Correlate, like this: To use the Maverick in force correlate mode: 1. Place the Boat Switch in the center position (RAlt-Down). 2. Slew the tracking gate near the intended target. 3. Ground stabilize the Maverick by pressing TMS Aft Short (LCtrl-Down). 4. Slew the tracking gate over the target and the tracking gate will fully collapse. Pointing cross will go steady. 5. You can now launch the Maverick by holding down the weapon release button (RAlt-Space).
  8. Another reason everyone should get the TM WT. :) heheh Nothing quite like the feeling of pushing the throttle over the detent and hearing the engines spin up!
  9. Wish I got that channel. :(
  10. China Hat Forward (V key) is the zoom toggle for the Mav screen. Click it once to zoom in, click it again to zoom out. If you hold it for a second it slews the Mav camera to your current SPI. Lctrl+Up is TMS Forward Short which is Track. If you hold it down for a second it's Make that target SPI.
  11. Your pictures are upside down there Teej... might wanna get your camera checked out. :)
  12. You won't have to wait, both will be available at the same time, shipping time not included of course. What's available now isn't the retail game, it's an ever changing beta. If you want to play an unfinished game now, by all means pay for the download version and enjoy the beta from now till release day. If you want to murder a tree for a box you might display on a shelf and a DVD that is little more than the downloaded version burned to a DVD, by all means be patient and wait till the retail version is out. I have two friends that are being totally buttheaded about the whole "I want a physical disc" nonsense. The retail game isn't coming with a leather bound color manual, it'll be a DVD and a slip of paper telling you to read the PDF manual on said DVD. The DVD you get isn't going to be any better or more useful than a DVD backup of the downloaded game. So, if you want to play now, buy the game now. If you don't want to play till it's finished and want some trash to throw out, wait for the DVD.
  13. Something like a kill box arty hunt from the first Gulf War. The key though is making a random spawn point for the arty site. But basically have a "puppy paw" artillery site somewhere with some AAA around it. Pilots need to fly to the kill box, find it, and take it out. Maybe have some random soft targets around as well.
  14. Wow, loving the new format!
  15. Really sounds like the throttles-not-at-idle problem to me, maybe just move the throttles up then down again? Tried that yet?
  16. I like the idea of invisible walls if you're running with tanks being modeled far more than a huge air gas explosion if you are! Or both. :)
  17. Why model something that won't happen? :)
  18. Currently, with most airfields, you can request startup, taxi and takeoff. Sometimes it crashes and sometimes it doesn't work, but sometimes.... warm fuzzy!
  19. Make sure you've loaded the DCS defaults by following the procedure in this thread: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=61018 The most important part is clicking in the Throttle column to load the Throttle profile and in the Joystick column to load the Joystick profile.
  20. Don't need TARGET for DCS: A-10C since the default configs for the stick that ship with DCS already are configured for the TM Warthog controller. Just leave it off while runing DCS: A-10C For other games though you'll want it running.
  21. FC2 does have the same lua files as DCS. Seems though that TARGET simply replicates the Keyboard commands and maps them to the stick controls, so you just don't map anything special in the Joystick column and you essentially fly via keyboard using a stick. :) So start TARGET, Run Configuration and leave it running, then start FC2 and enjoy.
  22. What's with your binoculars fetish? I translate from "devoting all attention" to "zooming is realistic" not "pilots use binoculars constantly and in all things". They only use binocs when searching. Everyone knows and understands that. No one is disputing that. No one is saying they use binoculars while running in on a target. However pilots do focus their attention and vision on the target. Pilots do lose a lot of peripheral vision while attacking, because they are "zoomed" in on their target. That's why the wingman stays up and behind, to watch for attacks on the lead since they are not looking at anything but the target. The point is that zooming is not cheating, as shown in various ways in this thread, it has absolutely nothing to do with binoculars.:joystick:
  23. Hmm.. how do you get a lua file you can use in LockOn FC2 then to map buttons? Or does TARGET just make it into a single controller so you can use the throttle for example but have to manually map each control?
  24. Where do you configure labels from? As far as I can tell they are on or off?
  25. Sweet! Thanks for the confirmation!
