Just played through this one again. No hangs this time, but the missions... didn't work. I tried like 10 times to contact the AFAC Dodge 2-1. For some reason he was showing up 3 times in the radio menu. I tried all three of the entries before reaching the IP, after reaching the IP, after flying over the enemy targets and even after the Allied Flight had reported enemy armor contacts to Dodge 2-1, but every time I checked in I was told no tasking available. So I took out a few tanks and some Nuna's and called it a day. Also, somewhere down the runway I hit something and lost my nose gear on takeoff. Fun little night missions though, gun runs at night are scary!

Ahh, yeah, seems that's still bugged. The text tells you VHF AM 131.00 however the actual JTAC SEAL unit is on VHF FM 30. Try FM 30 and it should work.

Considering that the ladder was actually part of a pre-beta1 build, and there's already technology in the game for a pilot avatar to walk around and initiate loading into a vehicle then yes, his idea is a very good, immersive, fully technically possible and true to form for a simulator idea when compared to your silly and sarcastic jibe.

That's really odd... The mission editor seems to max it out at 500? 1-30 made sense, 365 is silly, but kinda makes sense but 500? Doesn't make sense.

Different people learn different ways. Reading through a manual is not the "best" way of learning for everyone and making someone do that won't guarantee that the subject will be learned or even easier to learn. For some sure, sitting down and trudging through a 700 page manual with no hands on examples might be fine, but for someone else simply reading from a book does nothing when they tend to learn better in a more interactive fashion. There's a reason ED continues to work on interactive, voice prompted tutorials. Because monolithic textbooks are not always the answer. :)

If you're going to use the \ key, then you need to be in Easy Communications mode. Enable that mode from the Options menu. Or simply set your correct radio frequencies and use the proper Mic Switch (Forward = AM, Down = UHF, Back = FM) to start communicating.

Printing it at Staples would have cost me $300-400. I just printed out (and laminated!) key parts like the button tables around page 80, some checklists, the Flight Procedures section, HOTAS maps and the like.

Gigha, yeah, that setting was causing my start-in-flight missions to start with my engines turning off if I didn't have the throttle in the proper place, so I've since disabled that option. :)

The work he's done for ArmA/ArmA2/VBS is without equal. :) :thumbup:

iCore 7 920, 6GB RAM, Nvidia 470 GTX. Normally get 60FPS in normal flight. And yes, beta 3 (though it's Beta 1 patched to 2 patched to 3 if that matters).

Yeah, I didn't set orbit or anything on the tanker, just put it down (with default tanker action), gave it a frequency and loaded the game. Obviously not the way to do things! :)
