  1. You can, because ArmA III is using the same base engine and already comes close. And Waves definately affect the boats in ArmA III nd you do not need a super computer but just a decent gaming rig to run it. there is no magic involved, just NVidia PhysiX.
  2. Laser range finders on MBT or IFV don't use a continous beam like a laser pointer.
  3. No, but that's a typical wet ground scene from FSX. Weather and weather related effects to aircraft was one of the few things that FSX out of the box did very well.
  4. The simple .ini tweak [Water=4] gave you 3D waves with white caps depending on weather in IL-2 from version 3.04 on wards. Togeher wirh the moving carrier decks the illsusion was prfect and that's all what is needed since Simulations are illusions anyway.
  5. what a lame argument line....the same level of different sea states was already possible with the old IL-2 Sturmovik engine and silent hunter IV back in 2006/2007 and we could run it on 1ghz single core cpus and ATI HD-47xx series.
  6. You could ask the same about french and UK aircraft that fly with short range IR missiles only and ground attack ordinance in the region. The U.K.s Tornados are just right now armed with ASRAAM
  7. Yes indded since I turn it all off to have a realistic look ... just like lensfalres have to be turned off The problem with the application of those effects is: they make the game look like smartphone camera footage not like what two human eyes see.
  8. Sämtliche 3D Brillen/Helm Systeme verlangen zwei gesunde Augen.
  9. This was my favorite MP mission in FC2 and I was missing it badly in DCS. Thanks a lot for the revival.
  10. I simply use a cheap as 60€ steel frame stackable Chair. It does not slip and i have the HOTAS welded onto the frame. Its a better solution than any office chair modification
  11. I think it is supposed that way. It shows the difference beetween wide, low presssure vs. narrow, high pressure tyres. That's also the reason why the first ones are prone to blow, the later ones are prone to get stuck.
  12. That's not true for the Su-27 and Su-25. With some training you can land and take of again on grass with both birds if the ground is flat. But don't expect all wheels to retract properly everytime.
  13. Even back in 1993 my old armoured recon platoon leader always spoke in reverence about "The Thing"
  15. You cant teach an old dog a new trick. Since when have timelines any meaning here. Releases and changelogs are all floating in subspace. You can never know when or for how long they materialize. Maybe yesterday.
  16. I'm using no mods at all and still get the connection interupted a lot...its simply to high ping since the only 3 populated servers that run combat mission are far far away in >400 ping land. And once you made it in there you see warping and rubberbanding all over the place which is especially very nice to have in aerial combat. MP in DCS is basically non existent if you cpmpare it to even other niche games like the ArmA series.
  17. The point is that they used to work prior to the new Cockpit. So its a broken feature we wait to be fixed for a long time now. Same for the Su-33 which does not even have a PFM.
  19. Just as much as 1984 is already reality now and remeber, we were always at war with Eurasia.
  20. and to make it worse...the imperial BHP is not equal to the continental HP. 50kw = 67 BHP = 68 HP
  21. The real annoyance in the use of the differnt systems is that simple tools like wrenches and drivers bits simply dont fit, neither do threads and nut and bolts. Maintainignn a british made car from the 70's with a metric toolset is a nightmare.
  22. Yeah let them do theyr great job. But I personally have sworn to myself to never ever again buy somethign that is labeled beta... now there is not much to buy for me in DCS:W
  23. Belsimtek is not ED.They don't have to fix neither Multiplayer issues nor Missile performance and trakcing issues. All they should care about is their modules.
  24. MP is not the strong side of DCS:W. If those few MP players you can see at a time were the main customer base ED would be bancrupt for years.
