  1. Its largely the AI. Unless something vital gets shot up, it´ll to keep afloat. perfectly. Not sure if ED has made adjustments to how "downed planes" are counted, but, if it smokes and leaves it basically is out of the fight. Not necessary to pump anymore lead into it.
  2. We had nothing back then. And if you have nothing, nothing can fail. It´s quick maths really.
  3. Stable. Anyway, good to hear its been fixed.
  4. Well im no tech and i can barely land a plane, but just to get it right and try to understand it and to match with my observations. Made another coldstart today climbed past 6k meters with 3000 u/min. all nice and peachy. could throttle back and forth, egine responded. Cooling flaps were in automatic. However, once i dove down to the deck and throttled back, engine went bonkers. So the prop overrevs and breaks the govenor?
  5. Yeah thought so.... is it possible to revert to a previous version? @NineLine i mean i wonder how this went into the stable version when it was know right after open beta update... At that point a mate is tryin to persuade me to buy the anton... but the dora left a bad taste atm...
  6. Has anyone figured out how to avoid this in the meantime? Its really frustrating. It appears to me most of the times the bug occurs when doin a cold start and at flying a certain height. When i start in midair ive not stumbled over this? Was in mp with a friend and and i could cruise around at 2400 u/min at about 2000 m height. But as soon as ive climbed to 5k ish (also with 2400u/min) the engine loses power and wonky things start to happen. Eg can only go past 3000u/min in a dive. And even if i make a turn i loose u/min which i cannot regain. Dora is basicaly unflayable....
  7. https://easyupload.io/bsn1lj Bug is noticed near the end of the track/mission.
  8. https://easyupload.io/wn3ilw @NineLine
  9. Tipp: use the gunsight to aim for the end of the runway. Will make a very steady and smooth approach. If you re right before the start of the runway initiate your flare and go to idle. A very simple visual crutch.
  10. Yes sorry i got sidetracked. Will upload.
  11. Basically yes. But the side slip needs some practice as you basically stall the aircraft rather fast and it might result in flipping over. Needs careful inputs. If you need to slow down the aircraft fast its g2g. But as said for normal operations to slow down its not really neccessary.
  12. Not really necessary in the mustang unless you need to land urgently and come in too fast. Cuz mr hanky's already drawin around in your nickers and so.
  13. Tbh i find the mustang quite easy to land. I usually set rpm to full and manifold somewhere in the green. Itll slow down to 150mph ish if you just do an extra round over the airfield. Make sure you dont start your descend from above 1500ft or youll be too fast again. Touch down should be around 90mph. The mustang is actually quite responsive to throttle inputs.
  14. Is this still bugged / wip? Cause i can only get the diatance needle to work and the direction needle just twitches.
  15. If you look close the shape is actually correct. What the model lacks is beefines in that part. If you look at the rs pics you can see the leather is pointy on that area where its connected to the instrument hood. However it appears like theres a flexible tube squeezed inside the leather sleeve so that part appears more round and more beefy. This also makes the hood look more narrow than the 3d model. From an ex 3d modellers perspective this was either rushed or it indeed was simply referenced from a different batch... bear in mind pics of that rs anton are of an refurbished one. Also we do not know what ed used as ref and the germans werent that picky especially in 44 and 45.
  16. Its most likely hard coded. and youd need to modify the model, which, id doubt ED will hand out.
  17. It also appears to depend on if your nose is pointing rather upwards or downwards during a turn. If it faces rather up whilest turning left youll flip to the right. If it faces downward you flip in the direction of the turn. So its rather dangerous if done too hasty and you pull the skywalker roll and just lose speed and make yourself a sitting duck.. at least.. that what always happens to me if i try flat scissors in the dora... cause if you turn you loose speed fast and then youre dead.. but im a cr@p pilot myself..
  18. the nvg´s work with the mustang. but be real... these werent around in the 40s. set your date of the mission to day that had a full moon. set your gamma to about 2.7.
  19. Yeah thats what got me confused. Once ive passed 6k meters engine started to gargle... wasnt just once tho. I cant see why it would damage the engine if i climb with 2500u/min at a shallow angle. Or 3000 u/min and a climb rate of 10.
  20. Ack. Was flying in sp again yesterday. Started in air. 4000m. Basic combat for 20 mins or so. Alternated between 3000 u/min and 3250. With and w/o mw50. Stayed under 6000m. Nothing. Gathered from the other bug that the engine is actuall dying whereas with this it looked at first as it would be starving fuel or so but then lost power on throttelin back. Anyway. If its related to the other bug guesd the dora has to fly below 6k m.
  21. Another MP session. now engine sputtered above 6000. https://easyupload.io/eavih8 and another:, here ive stayed below 6000. engine loses power. https://easyupload.io/2zw16y On said instances ive made a cold start. Ill try to warm up the engine longer. Couldnt produce a engine failure from starting in air
  22. I primarily want to rule out any pilot error first since im fairly new to the lawnmower. ive checked the other bug thread but mine only occured after a cold start above 6000m. ive also flew a simple sp sortie yester day w/o any problems but never above 6000m.
  23. Well theres only the cb e58 or 85 that activates the pump for the drop tank. Its been on. Fuel selector lever was set to vorne zu. (Tho the manual gives contradictoray instructions on how to operate with drop tanks... fuel selector lever should be set to auf in one part and in another to vorne zu...) I tried yesterday again with starting in midflight at 4000m and could climb past 6000 w/o probs. I checked starting procedures in case i fvcked up but that would cause a general engine malfunction and seizure of the engine. So i dont know whats happening.
  24. right, made a sp mission @NineLine propper warm up 40deg oil with 1200 u/min then 1800 u/min when 70 deg coolant. vanilla mission surroundings. after take off with 3250 u/min i keep climbing with 2500 u/min. droptank engaged just above 6000 meters the engine starts sputtering. dropped the tank thinkin it was empty despite the fule gauge saying otherwise, set fuel tanks to all. nothing. descended under 6000 meters. engine came back to live. however ata and u/min gave me weird readings. if id push throttle forward, ata would rise max 1.3 ata, however. u/min would fall. i could only push u/min to about 2200. then it would fall, even tho id fire wall it. if i pulled back it would climb again to 2200 but fall again once i reached 1.1 or 1 ata. https://easyupload.io/76zz4b im gonna retry with in air start and with and w/o tank to see what might cause it.
