I'm wondering since you also got a 4090. QuadViews can actually increase CPU load. You're probably CPU bound all the time like me. So is it really a good idea to help your GPU at the cost of your CPU? I'm also wondering if eye tracking & DFR has any benefit with a 4090. It's unlikely to help my CPU

It seems like DCS is using a single time zone per map, regardless of where you spawn. For Caucasus, the offset is 4 hours. ( Which you cannot simply calculate from longitude, because 33 / 15 results in 2 hours offset. )

this helped me

FFR was useful in the Reverb G2. But in my Quest3 its not usable, you'll notice because of the edge to edge clarity. Same I'd expect for the Crystal.

I believe to have figured out the DCS declination calculation. The next update should have accurate ( year, lat, lon ) magnetic headings. UPDATE: declination is now accurate to DCS within 0.1 degrees https://dcs-web-editor.github.io/dcs-web-viewer-deploy/ -

I understand you concern, but we are several developers who like to build different things And a lot of the tech built for the viewer is merged into the editor. So it may look like waste but its actually the same libraries used in both. -
Phellow Phantoms Since I always had issues with the F10 map in VR, I've created a replacement for the F10 map. It runs through Heatblur's ingame browser, any other browser or OpenKneeboard * Works in 2D and VR, saves VRAM * Show mission route points, distances, headings in MH° and TH° * Shows airport and beacon info on hover * Show friendlies / neutrals / enemies ( if mission allows it ) * Show / hide player position * Follow player / show track * Draw on map and take notes * Import notes/drawings from DCS Web Viewer * Import .kml files * Many different map styles including TPC, ONC, VFR & IFR HI/LOW https://dcs-web-editor.github.io/dcs-web-viewer-deploy/live/ Download is on discord

If you have an idea how to calculate the northern maps would be appreciated. We have now included the charts from Dima and he usually gives MagVar guidance but not for Kola -

Yes, thats a good idea. Or if you find an offline library which can calculate DCS magvar decently, let me know. -
You can now drag & drop icons for planning. And save/load measurements and icons. There's also a screenshot button which hides the UI. (Doesnt work with SkyVector layers.) There's a new Search feature for finding units or jumping to MGRS coordinates. Dima's guides are now available, with friendly permission

There will be a free version like DCS Web Viewer. It was patreon only at first. But now its free for everyone, even though there is also a patreon edition of DCS Web Viewer with commercial maps. The same will apply to DCS Web Editor. It all depends how the beta goes but I would say 1-4 months till public release.

Very nice. Can we add those to the DCS mission viewer ? It would be nice if people can just click on an airport to get these charts. Currently I'm linking to hoggit/airmate/google etc. If you have them hosted I can just link to the charts, otherwise we could host them with the viewer. -

DCS has its own internal data model for this, so if Caucasus is any indication it wont be exactly like the real world -

We havent found a good conversion for TH to MH outside of DCS. The deviation varies within a map and also in different years. -

Transparency is still too high, it freaks me out in VR, to see this much of the underside of ships

I think you have an outdated version of the viewer, you may want to refresh and clear browser cache. Some themes were made on request to be stylised and low contrast for night time in VR, where you want anything but strong contrasts. But the idea is that styles can be customized by users, just havent implemented a style editor yet. The kneeboard editor css: yeah it sucks. But the whole css is going to be replaced by tailwind so i didnt really spend any time on styling. -
Well let's say you've created an FOB with ~ 1000 objects carefully placed. You want to re-use that FOB on a different map/location. You will likely need to rotate it. Or you want to move an airport setup to a different but similar airport. Without transform & rotate you still have to touch every single object.

Its still in closed beta for patrons ( 7 day free trial ). But it will release for everyone in 1-4 months depending on how beta goes.

I've added "Modern bright" and "Table" layout, which is quite space efficient. Happy for contributions https://github.com/DCS-Web-Editor/dcs-web-editor-mono/tree/main/packages/kneeboard. Also added a description how to run this on your local machine. -
