  1. DCS Web Viewer 0.4.33 is released. https://dcs-web-editor.github.io/dcs-web-viewer-deploy/ Airport names ( show / hide ) Waypoint names / numbers ( show / hide ) Display Waypoint Numbers on Map Static objects have different colors Threat ranges hidden by default for performance
  2. "If it's on adaptive, then if performance falls too low, it will dynamically scale back the resolution of what is being rendered to keep performance at the desired level, but at the cost of visual clarity."
  3. It seems to be broken depending on the type of mission. In instant action it works for me. But for other missions it wont work
  4. I just flew the Tomcat over Marianas and was always CPU bound. I have all settings to high / ultra, even shadows. MR enabled Resolution is 3500x3000 Q3
  5. I use a link cable, standard USB-C for best quality and least latency. You need to install the oculus apps etc. And set it to be the default openXR environment instead of WMR. Other than that it should not interfere. Up resolution in OXRTK to 1.5 or so, i use 3500x3000 pixels roughly
  6. I went from G2 to Quest 3. Because there is no truly next gen headset yet, so I wanted to have an intermediate solution. The apple vision pro is coming out soon, but I dont expect it to be usable for PC within the first 6 months. The Q3 is a major update over the G2. Performance seems about the same with a 4090, still CPU bound. Pros: It has the best consumer lenses available. If you remove the facial interface and get as close to the lenses as possible you get a stunning FOV which feels like 140° and everything is still sharp. So I bought a different facial interface from AMVR. Due to edge to edge clarity I noticed a lot more details in the environment, like writings on the carrier i've never noticed before. With the G2 your eyes stay mostly in the center. I unintentionally spent 10 minutes low level flying over water and couldnt stop. Due to the increased FOV and edge to edge clarity you get a much greater sense of speed. Also when taxiing i can now control the pedals very precise because i can feel every subtle change in acceleration. Case 3 procedures are much easier, I can scan all instruments with my eyes, while keeping the head level. The head and controller tracking is so much better, the whole experience feels much more fluid. The latency is much better, its easier to fly the tomcat, it feels a lot more responsive. The controller is small and actually useful as a mouse replacement. Can be bound in game. You can switch to Desktop view in VR, which is a huge plus if you need to fiddle with other apps. Quest3 has some fun shooting games Cons: Audio is not as good but acceptable for me. I don't bother using my in ears. Microphone quality is worse, which makes VoiceAttack harder to use Its heavier and uncomfortable unless you by a replacement like the AMVR face mask and some elite strap. I duct-taped my Q2 elite strap, works fine. The default settings deliver a blurry image. You need to change the bitrate and resolution with other apps like OXRTK and OculusDebugTool
  7. I'm wondering why supersampling will also reduce the frame rate. Like most 4090 owners im entirely CPU bound. But if I go up to 2x supersampling my framerate drops about 10%. From my understanding higher resolution should only affect the GPU not the CPU. VRAM went from 7Gig to 10Gig so still plenty of room
  8. No mods its a clean install. The only thing i can think of is I may have damaged the tanker without noticing. I got pretty close to it at one point even though it disconnected much later. It didnt show any damage model, smoke or make any sound if there was a collision. I will try again. Also im on latest OB maybe the behaviour is broken.
  9. This refers to an era, when the Tomcat had an artificial G limit imposed, due to maintenance cost. In the 80s the Tomcat smoked the Eagle in BFM and BVR
  10. I took about 4000lbs so i had about 14k when it aborted. There was no way to return pre-contact etc
  11. The issue wasnt fuel, it was that the tanker RTB'ed and aborted refueling. I couldnt even communicate with the tanker any more from that point on. It didnt show up in the comms menu either. I pressed spacebar multiple times but there wasnt even a message shown.
  12. I had the same issue. I was doing 350kts between waypoints so not too slow. But the tanker aborted during my refueling session. From then on none of the scripts triggered any more. I also tried to "skip refuel" but nothing happened. I flew back to WP2 then WP1 but nothing happened. I returned to the carrier but the mission result was still a draw. Log attached. miss11.log
  13. Works fine with a 4090, with my 3070 i constantly had issues and had to teak settings for each map. With the 4090 just move everything to max ( except shadows, blur ) Sometimes there is stutter, but its from CPU
  14. Thats just too much for what it offers. And you might have even more software troubles than with a Pimax. Something smaller manufactures often struggle with.
  15. Somehow the communication buttons were broken so I couldnt talk to the carrier on any button. But apparently the C17 got a Charlie signal. It blew up after catching a 3 wire. I still could land into heavy smoke but the carrier is on fire.
  16. Mark Gurman has a stellar track record when it comes to apple rumors.# https://www.bloomberg.com/news/articles/2023-12-20/when-will-apple-vision-pro-be-available-company-is-aiming-for-february?srnd=premium
  17. It would be great if they played their national anthem over the radio, and we responded with "We're Not Gonna Take It"
  18. The mission worked fine for me. However Caveman was splashed and ejected. But his aircraft must have been set to indestructible because it kept bouncing off the waves like a ping pong ball, long after i landed back at the carrier
  19. For developers it could be an interesting device as an alternative to the AVP. For consumers the price is too steep for either device.
  20. I went in manual, boltered. Jester said something about the engine. In the first bank after bolter i get a flameout on the left engine few hundred feet above water. I had no chance to recover it went into a left stall and became a Seacat. Very scary. In wonder if the left engine out was scripted? I had enough fuel for sure. 21. My bad, nevermind. Wasnt used to this any more: the coms menu not switching buttons automatically. And the ACL i couldn't see was due to being in Takeoff mode. So it was a very rough landing at night without glide slopes and comms
  22. I dont get any reply from the carrier (SC) despite repeated attempts at various distances up to 6nm. Latest OB I also don't get the ACL bars despite being connected by Jester. This works fine in other SC missions. I think the last time I played 1 year ago it worked fine.
  23. I'm thinking about upgrading to a Quest3 from a G2, did you manage to resolve the issues? "For DCS, the Q3 is better than G2"
  24. I wonder if preload radius affects it. On a 3070 I always had issues with VRAM on high, especially replaying a mission without restarting DCS. On a 4090 no issues
