This already exists with combined arms. I should be able to select a target on the f10 map and command the wingman to attack

this has been requested several times. No movement on it yet

For me it’s way less complicated than this. There are just so many things that could incrementally improve the ME. Drag to select, static templates that aren’t tied to a .miz to save. Hell I’ve wanted a “part of coalition in/out of moving zone” as a small improvement or a engage in zone option for air defenses. These are things that already exist they just have to expand them to other areas a bit and yet we see NOTHING. I’d be so happy if every patch we saw a section just dedicated to the editor and fixes/improvements but it’s been years since we’ve seen any really focus. Let me ask a simple question. What would have a more profound effect on how people use and enjoY DCS? Moving clouds or more engaging, dynamic and creative missions that are made possible by a more Robust feature set that allows more people to access mission building?

Hey! Great to hear. Hope all is ok. Those were me on GitHub great to hear you’re still working on it!

Has this script development died?

There is a setting in the .lua files I found. The issue was that when in lowered the distance between vehicles in a convoy they wouldn’t stop together and had to swerve to avoid crashing into the back of another so I set it back to default. Never found anything with infantry though

Lmao. I think they might have announced this in the patch notes

Trying to hone in on key features for the community to ask for to get implemented into the editor Yes, it would be a draw a border feature.

+1. I wanted to create a mission where you have to dogfight to get a bandit to “bug out” ala top gun 1 but not possible at the moment

What does the option to link a trigger zone to a unit do?
Hairdo1-1 posted a topic in Mission Editor
In the 2.8 update the create trigger zone menu now has a link to unit option. This seems different than using a trigger to create a moving zone. One thing I have found is that using it will make the zone move with the unit (but not center on the unit)in the ME but does NOT create a zone that will move with the unit in the actual game. It also seems to break the functionally of the zone when using it for triggers. I’m trying to figure out what this does and how to use it. Anyone know anything??-

I’m honestly not REALLY advocating for this. What I actually want them to do is treat the ME with the importance and urgency it deserves. Without the editor all they have is a cockpit simulator. The change log should have an entire section for fixes and features and it’s barely mentioned.

Wow. A compass rose and the ability to turn on and off red and yellow circles. Ground breaking. I think you’re making my point for me with this list.

I am happy to be proven wrong, can you please give me one feature/improvement they have added in the last 6-12 months. The last I remember is the draw tool which is buggy (text zoom anyone). They also added new callsigns but never recorded the voice so the radio just blanks out when they are used.

With the release of 2.8, there were NO improvements to the editor. As it’s clear ED doesn’t care about content creators, or for that matter the their customers who want content for the modules they buy (ie missions and campaigns) just split it off from the main game and let the community improve the editor. Why does ED insist on keeping elements of DCS that it has long since forgotten locked down and left to die

I would guess it’s due to the fact that the PLA doesn’t have much military hardware (tanks, aircraft, APC, etc) and I don’t think Palestine has been modeled in any maps yet. Maybe when the saini comes out? I could be wrong about both of these. Forgive me if I am mistaken

Kind of. The best I could do is put two groups together with fire at point (so they don’t immediately kill each other)close to one another and did late activation. A created a few of them and then do a random activate once I’m in the zone. Not perfect or dynamic but it is what it is for now unfortunately

Please make an option that when I select a target from the target list it doesn’t disappear and I don’t need to have him reslave the area after the original target is destroyed. This way I can just pick the next target on the list and so on

I think a clever and well thought out fictional map could be great. Inspired by real locations but Not confined by accurate geographical placement of airbases farps, SAM sites, ect. Could make for great mission planning and scenarios. Also you can add ocean for carrier ops, a mountainous area, urban areas, islands, etc. a little something for everyone. Certainly not #1 on my priority list but the right developer could do something really cool. I just wonder if ED would even allow it?

Or put a smoke effect on it. So it doesn’t sink right away

Allow “unlimited ammo” and “indestructible” as options for a group.
