  1. I've observed weird behavior of azimuth steering line when flying very low with crosswind, in the attached track file wind blows from right to left at ~10 knots and yet the azimuth steering line suggests flying to the left of the target. If you were to follow it at the last moment it will correct but chasing the line would make making the bomb hit its target more difficult, especially if using high drag bombs. In the attached track file instead of chasing the line I flew how I knew I would have to in order to make the bombs hit the intended target, as you can see at the last moment azimuth steering line corrects and aligns with the flight path vector. Note that bombing solution is correct, it's just the visual cue that is in my opinion confusing, I don't know if that's a bug or intended behavior. At higher altitudes the problem doesn't seem to exist or at least isn't noticeable. If you need any more track files I'm happy to provide BTW could you guys add waypoint symbols on HUD in CCIP? Unless it's something that's missing in the real thing as well JF-17 CCRP.trk

  2. It's not about their RCS but their speed, helicopters are very slow and usually flying very low so radar has a hard time picking them up, the same principle as notching but they do it all the time. Also helicopters produce less heat so IR guided missiles have a harder time locking on and are more likely to get spoofed
  3. @UN9249 It's fixed internally, we just have to wait for next OB patch so they can include that
  4. Would it be possible to add waypoint symbology on HUD when bombing in CCIP mode? It's already present when using unguided rockets
  5. Jammer pod gives you range for RWR contacts, not just azimuth. While it's nowhere near as precise as HTS, it works with both ground and air threats
  6. I'm not sure it's the WMD7 that is weak, I think it's the other targeting pods that are way overmodeled
  7. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for but there is a switch in the cockpit by the throttle that disables AB, once you go past the AB detent it will just stay in mil power
  8. Makes sense, considering it's equivalent to American APKWS (except based on bigger rocket) which is used on Apaches and AH-1Z
  9. Su-33 is lo-fi, can carry only dumb bombs and has no ARH missiles. Imagine Flanker with SD-10s, I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that on an airquake server, not only it would accelerate better than JF-17 but also could carry lots of missiles, with half decent radar it would be the most dangerous aircraft in BVR until the release of Typhoon, even without Meteors.
  10. If I'm going to spend 60+ USD on a module I would prefer something that isn't just a 90% copy of some Soviet jet, which means off this list I would prefer either J-8 or Q-5
  11. Engines don't like ingesting smoke from missiles, that's why you can't carry rockets on the inner pylons anymore. Cruise missiles are different because they drop before they start their engines
  12. It's not really meant to self escort, in real life F16s would do the A2A fighting, but depending on what your target is, its defenses and whether you know its exact location you can bring 4xSD-10, two bombs (Mk83, LS-6 or GB-6) and a centerline fuel tank which should give you serviceable range, decent A2A loadout and you will still be able to hit a target or two. Unless you specifically need laser designation you can try to use A2G radar to find targets of opportunity which admittedly is suboptimal but in DBS2 you can see targets even as small as individual elements of a SAM site
  13. E2 needs 90 seconds before its ready, maybe that's the problem. Try to point nose of the aircraft lower, missile should lock much earlier than than EO Mavericks to the point missile range becomes an issue.
  14. You set target size in SMS when you have SD-10 selected. When you have only two missiles you have less drag, which means you can go faster and give your missiles better chance of hitting their target, especially since JF-17 struggles to go supersonic with any significant loadout.
  15. SD-10 is basically AIM-120X
  16. The trick is to mount weapons under the wings, not on the nose. Also removing chocks with engine running is apparently perfectly safe. Just not hearing safe
  17. Have you switched weapons? You can either do that on the MDF (click the button next to WPN, select another weapon) or just press S8 (pinky button by default) on your stick
  18. Yes. Now you can only adjust codes on the ground with engine off. I would prefer if they did it like in JF-17 where you can adjust codes while on the ground with engine on but at least now the procedure is the same for GBU-12 and APKWS
  19. Check the kneeboard, default code for APKWS and laser guided bombs is 1688, while default code of targeting pod is 1111
  20. Make sure targeting pod and bomb codes match, since this patch you can no longer adjust bomb codes in flight.
  21. @AeriaGloria Try DCS.openbeta/Liveries/JF-17-CPT
  22. "Chinese Tornado" was the first thing that crossed my mind when I saw JH-7 for the first time. Who knows, maybe it will be Deka's next project? We desperately need more red aircrafts
  23. Are you on stable or beta? I don't know about stable but on beta this issue was solved months ago
  24. There was a time it was a problem, but I haven't broken the gear even once since the patch was released a couple months back.
