  1. inserting the "correct" tape and riding wtih Meteor is also phantastic its also nice that i can quickly toggle the volume within the F-4 (did bind the "lamp" that controls loudness on a slider axis on my hotas ^^) but yeah, late 60s also has style
  2. true in all points! and thanks for the reply. FAM flight was nice but especially event 2 (1v1) gave me a sh* lot to think about! i knew the pursuit techniques before, but with the lag role and the egg, its just soooooo much fun. Especially with the G effects! I LOVE THEM! feels so immersive! now i just need to learn to focus on the bandit during the egg. in VR its much better i think (cant play VR atm) but in 2D with Tobii tracker its hard to stay on the bandit or to keep flying correctly without watch the instruments briefly.... But the campaigns wants me to re-fly and train anyway had to quit before the RTB and in the campaign it says "2a departure" -> draw. Pressed "skip" jsut to look what will happen and then it shows "3a departure" JFYI. Gonna refly later having a great time so far!
  3. maybe you mistakenly choose "in" and "deploy" instead of "release"? (like i did at first) If you go "in" after "release", the chute will disappear but it is not cut (=released). So more of a simulation issue imho. Binding works for me. 3 way switch. In-Deploy-Release If you are using a button you just need Deploy and Release (e.g. wirh a modifier). happy flying
  4. On my first try (Event 01) i also reached very low fuel state which gave me a compressor stall on the way back (close to Piute). But i didnt pay much attention to my fuel state - maybe because i somehow had in mind i have unlimited fuel, which was clearly not correct Second try i did the first loop without burner and a second one with burner. i did two additional eggs. landed with about 2700lbs. So yeah i did transit rather fast at 400 most times but i always tried to trade altitude for speed when doing loops and eggs. I thought the first flight (after Intro) was more of a training to get the basic maneuvers but i do understand (and value!) your take on the Fighter School @Reflected Still it might had been good to also make it a two part mission so ppl can really retry those basic maneuvers: e.g. 1. transit and basic AoA and 2. rocket, loops, eggs and RTB. But i do also like to have one complete start-to-land mission in the beginning. Just my take on that, no criticism here I personally just need to step up my A game and basic flying stuff Lots of phun so far! Greetings
  5. maybe i do sth wrong dunno. tried another two times and after the first engagement by 5-1 there is nothing. I looked in ME an he is engaging group ISIS 2 with weapon usage set to "auto" in the target point. Group ISIS 1 is set to "guns" in ME. will try to engage group ISIS 1 on my next try, but George hasnt found any targets when i was scanning the whole are last time... so dunno if they did "spawn" at all
  6. couldnt get past the first targets (some inf in a row), when 5-1 calls shooter/cover and dives on target, after he pulls up, we are back in orbit, nothing happens. Inf was all dead swacked by 5-1 with rockets (though he called guns) xD 2nd try same result. Formation training. Most mission seem to end this way when AI is taking lead sry. hope you or ED get if fixed soonish.
  7. big hint, what @Blackhawk163 already kinda stated. I also engaged an enemy team early and the mission did not progress afterwards. Will mark as spoiler even though i keep it pretty un-detailed... Greetings
  8. got it, didnt know it only works for presets or if you tune to UHF in this case (COM page, preset 1, UHF (top) and TUNE -> SC (single channel) lower right). That does work but dunno if the preset will then mess again with UHF triggers (so far its good, finsihed M7). Though in M6 is an error with the setup of the wingman (UGLY 52) cause in advanced waypoint options the EPLRS is on position 4 and somehow not checked (an error that has been there for ages within DCS concerning adv waypoint actions.....). its a sad story... Florence is aware and will re-check it --------- @Simonster83 good to hear! hope the rest works out! happy flying

  10. lower altitude shouldnt make a difference concerning the triggers (cause they are not altitude bound afaik). on my end the freqs didnt change by themselves so far and when foghorn did the input it worked - as long as i did not click stuff during his input. As per presets: There are presets for every radio which can be used to switch freqs pretty fast. But they seem to mess with triggers using freqs. If you did put the freqs in manually you did everything correct
  11. wow i think you never tried any of those old campaigns? i mean some are really horrible in terms of triggers/bugs, but this one!? rly!? I had 1 not firing trigger so far (just finished MIission 5) in Mission 2 which was fixed with the latest patch (and befor you could even download the fixed mission right here in the forum!). What i do when flying: a) set everything up and lift at time given (do able); b) follow route as good as possible - you dont really have to stick to wp given hights from the briefing, but at least fly along the route; ((If you cant follow that, you might wanna relearn the aircraft before proceeding to "life fire" campaigns (not training campaigns))) c) set freqs via com page manual and do NOT use presets (which is stated multiple times in briefing and campaign docs); d) watch when it says "DATA", sometimes Foghorn likes to tinker with the pilots radio But it will say that in the top right (sth like "Foghorn will change freq to.........." and so on. Only thing i couldnt rly get to work is the datalink, but haven spend much time on that tbh. Maybe just re-fly and try to have fun. we dont have many campaigns in general and this one has been fine so far. I will try Mission 6 now and report if i encounter said issue. cheers
  12. i had the same issue with not logging progress in Mission 2 but i indeed also fear its a core DCS related problem. skipped the mission after three succesfull sorties (1 before, 2 after the patch) and "fixed" it inside the logbook as stated by Trankiller. All missions after that worked fine so far! (just finished nr 5) Greetings

  14. Had the same issue yesterday (after convoy, additional obj, killed 2 enemy groups, no comms, CH-47 landed anyway, no pickup and then heads RTB). No score added after my own landing. Will try your updated mission today, thank you for that! Maybe you could add score 100 after the convoy tells you to RTB !? (just an idea, dont know if that helps with the core problem). Thank you for an Apache campaign!
  15. Phantastic work @HB !!! @IronMike Updated our server. Spawned an F-4E. My usual AH64D Pilot is now my WSO. Drooled about the Helmet and Crew Chief features we both could see and hear. When i switched to AB during takeoff my Wizo kept laughing hysterically cause he was so amazed by the feeling and the trembling and sounds. You can nearly feel the power of the J79s. Very VERY well simulated, hats off! Thank you for this new love K

  17. @Minskyyou keep repeating the same thing in different topics. Afg map will be big. expanding in one direction (yes even flat, no fluff, low lod) will expand another direction. For the sake of what? i do love my F-18 and carrier ops (SC) too, but i am old enough to understand limitations. So yes, there will be a map without a coast. How about exploring all those new airports!? Trust the devs. If you dont, dont buy. Simple. Else, start developing your own game maybe. Just sayin, Greetings K

Looking forward to get hands on the northern part to recreate some CAS flights i was lucky to observe from the ground (TACP and FAC driver (wheeled) in 2008 near Kunduz/Mazar) @BIGNEWY @NineLine i have to beg you to please forward this request: please please please include more airports out of country. Even if they might only be low qual, i would love to see Termez, Mary, Dushanbe or Quarshi. For myself those dont even have to be very accurately modelled, i just need a strip to start and land on. e.g. Termez was intensily used by Germany as a logistical and personell "hub". A Hercules did transfer myself to Kabul and Kunduz from there. e.g. Dushanbe was used in the evac (NEO then MilEvakOp) from Kabul afaik. When Taliban took back control.   19. Kiowa FAC-A is working fine for me. But like @Tholozor stated, after "Laser on" command, he will respond "Lasing". Then YOU have to give the "Spot" and the "In". You dont really have to spot the laser, wouldnt make much sense in a LOAL shot anyway, but the AI needs that reply. After that FAC-A should give you the "cleared hot". If he still calls "abort" he might have given you a direction to make your attack and you are not in that direction. Happened to me before. Sometimes AI JTACs also bug-out and wont respond or do anything at all. Sometimes i had them "lasing" (verbal) but it took another minute till the laser was on. (I have a "testing" bed for that stuff set up on Nevada, SP only) K
  20. its called a switch. hf you got to "Modifiers (Panel)" and on the left are Modifiers (hold the button) versus on the right Switches (press once to activate and again to deactivate).
  21. Remember that the copilot/gunner AI IFF "system" can be changed from a very simple mode to a more realistic approach. AFAIK by most mission designers and the current (instant) missions available, it is set to "auto", meaning it will use the matrix logic seen on page 19 in the documentation (file name: AH-64D_George_2.pdf) https://forum.dcs.world/applications/core/interface/file/attachment.php?id=277428&key=305645b1b8f8789dc6d884c79008fb8c please provice a .trk file if you want to get criticized for your flying JK ! But with a .trk others can see if it really is George missing or some other thing/problem/etc or even a bug, that is making the Hellfire miss. George still tends to "aim" the laser (LRFD) too high which is making the Hellfire hit behind the target and long range engagements. I cant tell if there is a "maximum effective distance" for George but the closer the better i guess xD
  22. here we go again.... Solutions have been stated already. Sry to say, but just because you are not good (suck) at it does not give you the right to call it "messed up [for the end user]". It might be messed up for you particularly. It might be frustrating at times. Yes! But this is not an ARCADE game !!! IF you want arcade, wait for the arcade mode or go for another game. I cant recommend DCS for you then - and especially not EA. There have been tons of posts and tries to help you with your issues with the AH64. Many times it seems like you dont read those at all, or maybe you dont understand them. If that is the case try to get some help on a multiplayer server. It is much easier to understand when someone "teaches" things verbally, trust me. You might find someone who can explain the AH64D module to you - but this will take a loooot of time. Learning new modules usually will take time. It is not build for "jump in - kill stuff". To sum it up just three things: 1) stop your bug assumptions and miss-understandings/miss-using on your side. State what is not working in your case and ASK for help; 2) practice - practice - practice. Only way to git gud; 3) this module ist still WiP / Beta / EarlyAccess /... (pick one) - treat it like that please! Im off. K
  23. Not every "asset" suits every "target"... You are still comparing apples and potatos as mentioned so often before (here and in other discussions). IRL a ship can get "out of action" after recieving some damage, e.g. when not having an efficient fire fighting system and crew. DCS DOES NOT MODEL THIS - and im totally fine with it (sure there are things to improve, like fragmentation simulation). K
  24. tbh the FM is totally okay for me at this point of beeing in a "beta" (early access on beta branch) state. Refurbishing it may take some time so i guess we just need to be patient The changelog reads like a very nice list. indeed not everything reported has found its way in atm, but if you have been following the "Bugs and Problems" section closely, a lot of things that have been reported 2-4 weeks ago are now in. That is plain awsome! Love you ED! Keep em coming! Cmon you Apes, do you want to live forever! Get those Buuuuuuuuugs! (should stop playing starship troopers i guess ) K
  25. dont take it rude please, just a quick answer cause i dont have much time. I could only watch the vid for now. a) overflowing George with "orders". give George time to react. he will still fire if you are IN CONSTRAINTS and provice a STABLE platform; b) be in constraints (big square "box" for LOBL shot) for a first detent weapon shot: afaik George will fire weapons using the "first detent". at the beginning of the vid you can see "YAW LIMIT" for a second. That is one error of not beeing in constraints. ALso provide a stable platform, meaning keep the AH64 stable and in a good firing position. George will still launch after some sec if you gave him "consent to fire"; c) dont WAS the missiles for yourself if you want George to fire them. afaik this may cause errors in that the missile will need time to spool up again. if GEorge is lasing the target you can WAS the missiles for yourself and shoot them (remember trigger guard off). d) dont overflow George with "orders" e) sometimes MSL TYPE? bug can still appear. but from what i saw you need to give George a stable platform. your inputs where a little "strong".
