  1. No. All I‘m using it for occasionally, is to see FPS. As it has bern pointed out already, this us just a configuration app. Now you might ask, why it lets you configure QuadViews then, if you don‘t have it? Because it probably doesn‘t check for it. It just creates a settings file at the default place where QV is (or in your case: „would be“) looking for it. Also even though QV is very subtle, it is still noticable and you should be realizing it, when it‘s active. You should also notice a performance uplift.
  2. Come on guys...DCS is taxing enough on the hardware already, if they would actually render the first person cockpit of every player on the ext. camera as well, I don´t even want to know what impact that would have.
  3. @PLUTON As far as I know, QVFR puts some more stress on the CPU and yours might simply not be powerful enough for you to benefit from QVFR.
  4. No. Yes. After you started QuestLink, on that bar at the bottom, click on the monitor symbol and your desktop appears. I don‘t know how that behaves without an actual monitor though.
  5. I always kept my QPro connected simply to keep it charged during longer sessions. I did not see any detrimental effects and I also don‘t see how it would have since you can not be connected via QuestLink and VD at the same time.
  6. @Dang3r Man kann bei Drittanbietern für fast alle gängigen VR-Brillen entsprechende Gläser mit individuell gefertigter Sehstärke bestellen die einfach in die VR-Brille „eingeklickt“ werden.
  7. Why do you use SteamVR in the first place instead of just QuestLink? Not that this would be much easier/faster, but I think might be a tad better with regards to performance. Or use VirtualDesktop if you insist on wireless streaming. Other than that, you can disable the DCS launcher in the DCS settings. This would then safe you one step.
  8. As of yesterdays update, you will have to activate QuadViews (and Eye-Tracking if your headset supports it) in the DCS VR options. If you´ve done that, QuadViews should already work for you. If you want to do some custom tweaking to how QuadViews behaves, you can manipulate the respective settings file or use a tool called "QuadViewsCompanion" which is a bit more convinient.
  9. Yes, you are right, I have to revise my own answer from yesterday. I was wrong, simply because at that time I was not aware, that the update had dropped and the functionality has now changed.
  10. You still need the quadviews software to make it work. It‘s not difficult really. As far as I know, the checkmark in DCS is just an indicator if it works. You can set it up with your G2 but it would only work in fixed mode obviously. EDIT: Corrected due to changed functionality in latest update.
  11. I can‘t explain it from a truly technical perspective… I used MSAA x4 for quite a while because when DLAA came out initially for DCS, it had some really bad smearing effect on moving objects. This is now less pronounced and DLAA provides a better quality image overall. Smoother edges and no shimmering on clouds for example. This is all highly subjective, I guess. Nothing wrong really with sticking to MSAA.
So kann man sehr coole Perspektiven a la GoPro erzeugen, also z.B.
  15. No worries mate...we´va ll been there...
  16. The paddle deactivates NWS. To activate NWS you need to press the NWS button. Are you sure, you didn‘t accidentially mix that up?
  17. Sorry, didn‘t want to derail your thread. I just found that part a bit misleading. And yes, you are right, the fact that one needs the controller for that is a bit annoying. Would be even better, if QuestLink was just defaulting to the desktop right away.
  18. I´ve heard/read that several times now... I mean WTF? If you start QuestLink and the environment changes into that grey "lobby", you simply click on the monitor symbol on the tray at the bottom and voila...you see your desktop. Now, don´t get that wrong. I tried VD as well and liked the better codecs. All I´m saying is, that being able to see the desktop is not an exclusive feature to VD that QuestLink wouldn´t have as well.
  19. Not a problem really IMO. Normally your wings will be spread when you lower the hook. But even if they are folded and you lower the hook for ground checks, it clears. Well...making it out of metal is more expensive by a margin. Never understood the the obsession that some people have with things having a "perceived" better quality when they are made out of metal instead of plastic...unless it is an actual concern about durability. But I don´t see how one would put that much stress on any of the components of the PTO2, that plastic could not handle it. But of course, it´´s totally up to you mate... (Also, I fly VR, so I don´t look at it that much)
  20. @TBarina Just out of curiosity: What do you expect the PTO2 to do? Which of those things does it not do properly? The only gripe I have with it, is the parking brake lever which does not turn like in the real F/A-18.
  21. @lee1hy You are looking at a 5 year old thread! MGRS is implemented in the DCS F/A-18C for quite a while now.
  22. @Spetz Uhm…I thought it was the other way round…the more you preload, the faster it can be accessed during the mission, because it is loaded into RAM already.
  23. It‘s been a while since I had a HP G2, but I would suggest to delete the environment data in the Windows settings and then setting it up again in WMR. Can‘t recall the exact process, but you basically have to hold it straight forward and press a button.
  24. No…this is outdated already. The problem got fixed by Meta after a few days with a hotfix. This is a bit misleading. Even though it is not being developed any further, it still works.
  25. Aber der 18. Sep war doch schon gestern, also was soll da noch kommen….?
