What does the scaling actually do?
-
OXRTK does not need to be started up. It is active in the background unless you actively disable it. You might actually try to disable it via the respective checkmark as suggested above in order to check if it is the source of your problem. If you are in fact using Virtual Desktop, then Oculus Tray Tool has absolutely zero effect on your PCVR experience. I would suggest to also leave that alone. Have you used QuadViews Foveated Rendering? In that case you now also need to activate that in the DCS VR settings.

@Vox Those notes/warnings/cautions do not imply that one is not supposed to flare. The NATOPS also states a maximum landing weight of 39000lbs for a FLARED landing as opposed to the 34000lbs limit one has for landings/traps on the boat.

What does the Quad Views setting in DCS VR do?
Phantom711 replied to sleighzy's topic in Virtual Reality
@hannibal Yeah I‘m also running the QPro with a 4090… I still run into ASW occasionally, but definitely less so with QV enabled. -
OpenXR toolkit has a build-in check box to disable it if you want to check if it‘s interfering with something. So no need to uninstall right away. What „built-in support for foveated rendering“? DCS now has a checkbox (or toggle switch in the launcher) to activate/deactivate QuadViews. You still need to have QuadViews installed as before if you want to make use of it. It is just a convenient feature now for testing or quickly turning it on/off to your preference for different modules. So…if you had used QV before and now you uninstalled it, OFC you have worse performance. Also check out this VR subforum where you might find better advice then whereever you were told to uninstall OXRTK and QV.

What does the Quad Views setting in DCS VR do?
Phantom711 replied to sleighzy's topic in Virtual Reality
No. All I‘m using it for occasionally, is to see FPS. As it has bern pointed out already, this us just a configuration app. Now you might ask, why it lets you configure QuadViews then, if you don‘t have it? Because it probably doesn‘t check for it. It just creates a settings file at the default place where QV is (or in your case: „would be“) looking for it. Also even though QV is very subtle, it is still noticable and you should be realizing it, when it‘s active. You should also notice a performance uplift. -
Come on guys...DCS is taxing enough on the hardware already, if they would actually render the first person cockpit of every player on the ext. camera as well, I don´t even want to know what impact that would have.

@PLUTON As far as I know, QVFR puts some more stress on the CPU and yours might simply not be powerful enough for you to benefit from QVFR.

What's the fastest way I can launch DCS on the Quest 3?
Phantom711 replied to HoneyBadger's topic in Virtual Reality
No. Yes. After you started QuestLink, on that bar at the bottom, click on the monitor symbol and your desktop appears. I don‘t know how that behaves without an actual monitor though. -
@Dang3r Man kann bei Drittanbietern für fast alle gängigen VR-Brillen entsprechende Gläser mit individuell gefertigter Sehstärke bestellen die einfach in die VR-Brille „eingeklickt“ werden.

What's the fastest way I can launch DCS on the Quest 3?
Phantom711 replied to HoneyBadger's topic in Virtual Reality
Why do you use SteamVR in the first place instead of just QuestLink? Not that this would be much easier/faster, but I think might be a tad better with regards to performance. Or use VirtualDesktop if you insist on wireless streaming. Other than that, you can disable the DCS launcher in the DCS settings. This would then safe you one step. -
As of yesterdays update, you will have to activate QuadViews (and Eye-Tracking if your headset supports it) in the DCS VR options. If you´ve done that, QuadViews should already work for you. If you want to do some custom tweaking to how QuadViews behaves, you can manipulate the respective settings file or use a tool called "QuadViewsCompanion" which is a bit more convinient.

I can‘t explain it from a truly technical perspective… I used MSAA x4 for quite a while because when DLAA came out initially for DCS, it had some really bad smearing effect on moving objects. This is now less pronounced and DLAA provides a better quality image overall. Smoother edges and no shimmering on clouds for example. This is all highly subjective, I guess. Nothing wrong really with sticking to MSAA.

So kann man sehr coole Perspektiven a la GoPro erzeugen, also z.B.

The paddle deactivates NWS. To activate NWS you need to press the NWS button. Are you sure, you didn‘t accidentially mix that up? -
Sorry, didn‘t want to derail your thread. I just found that part a bit misleading. And yes, you are right, the fact that one needs the controller for that is a bit annoying. Would be even better, if QuestLink was just defaulting to the desktop right away.
