  1. 1,209,600 seconds starting the day after the day that the bones said it would
  2. I am impressed with the sound; of course many many years of minimum hearing protection in my multiple job roles have started to dull my hearing… it is amazing how the range of tones of my wife’s voice I just can never quite make out what she says the first time
  3. @dburne SteelSeries Nova 7 is awesome especially with the Varjo Aero. Lot of early discussions about the Nova 7 on that very long thread; Aero Beginners, you and I follow. Fits comfortable and very convenient mic that retracts into the headphones. I hard wire directly into the output jack in the Aero but there is the wireless/bluetooth options as well. I am extremely happy with it.
  4. How I have my single based station located center of my sim pit. I utilized cell phone/tablet mount arm extensions to get it better adjust over my screen. I will probably mount it higher in the future but still utilize the extension arm; my wife is wanting to repaint my office soon. Forgive me for not having the exact links I will post later if anyone is interested; the past 48hrs have been exhausting and enjoying an adult beverage finally after these stressful two days.
  5. How is VRNeckSaver currently working for Aero? I haven’t downloaded it yet because if memory serves me several of you were having issues with one of the OB updates a few months back.
  6. I have no issues but I did find an extension arm to get a little better adjustment over my monitor. I have a Trak Racer sim pit (one day I will do a review) and my seat sits little low so it did take some time getting my adjustments fine tuned but with help from the extension no issues now.
  7. This was my biggest complaint with the Pimax 8Kx when I first got it; I have since have a lot more. I searched and searched for an answer on MFD resolution but the best solution I found was adjusting the cockpit camera extremely close to at least get a little better clarity; without messing up the view of the HUD symbology. I thought “well it just how it is in VR “ but I hate to say this but it is the Pimax 8kx itself. I ended up having so many issue with the Pimax I abandoned it and switched the Aero. Very first thing that I saw was the MFD clarity of display.. WOW. I had not adjusted or changed any setting from the Pimax either. I know the Aero DFR was a big component of that and unfortunately without eye tracking not sure what the solution to the 8kx is. Hopefully you bought yours on the 12k upgrade promo special. Sorry I don’t have any good news/solutions from my experiences. Cheers
  8. I was excited for the re-release of Commando 2 and played it on PS4.. was great fun but completely different playing via controller than the keyboard. I know I could play on Steam but as you stated just not as the same back in the day.
  9. My summer “project” was going to be build button box for right, center, and left panels with a switch and rotary encoders binding them as mouse commands. Glad to hear that my idea will work now I just need to find time to build them because I for sure didn’t get it down last few months. Also great idea on the MFDs I am doing that ASAP.
  10. The F-5E "what is my purpose" one ?
  11. The Google is strong in me; here is the F-86 Pilots Association homepage... http://yocumusa.com/sweetrose/sabrepilots/ . This link is within the website; it is the scanned copy of "The F-86 Jets and Pilots" published in 1997 http://yocumusa.com/sweetrose/media/1997thef86sabrepilots.pdf looks like it may have much of the info you are requesting. Also an great deal of other books and magazine articles on the F-86 are on the webpage. Cheers
  12. No One Lives Forever 1 & 2. Great and funny first shooter set in the 1960's Spy World. Pretty much an Austin Powers first shooter with funny gadgets, dialog, and methods of death. It would still hold up today but the reboots are not possible because ownership/licensing agreements pre-dated digital files and Activision, Warner Brothers and 20th Century Fox has no desire to dig through the filing cabinets and figure it out.
  13. Very interesting and I think well done video production

  14. Same here.. the glass frame was to my left so every time I looked down and left at the throttle I would "exit" the A10 and be hovering along side the GAU-8; I should have screen recorded
  15. Is it not how that feels waiting for the DCS load screen… waiting ten lifetimes
  16. Mouse will do… I have controllers from my Pimax purchase but never even unpack them yet.
  17. I had the same thought as you this spring when I purchased mine but researching and now having my Aero for past 4 months I believe you can not go wrong with purchasing it especially at a discount. I am happy with my decision and feel no need to to chase after the next generation headsets; having moved from Pimax 8kx to the Aero BTW. My opinion is even if V2 does come out the limiting issue will be ED and DCS itself with how the system will perform. Yes headset resolution/clarity is important but so is how well VR is designed and implemented in DCS itself. As of today I feel that at the pace ED is moving forward the system itself might not support the full functionality/benefits that the next one or two generation headset (by any company); thus you/us will be spending money on features that can’t be used. Again just my opinion of why now is a great time to dive into the Aero for the price and getting the most you can out of the current state of DCS VR. Cheers
  18. I only use one.. I have a simpit and I mounted my base very high up on the wall and all works well although took me some time to properly adjust so I had no “dead spots”. Prior to my pit I had my single base on a shelf again high above me. One note.. with my simpit in the corner of my office I had a piece of artwork on the wall to my left and the glass did cause signal interference when looking left. I simply removed the art work and everything worked perfectly. Cheers
  19. To me the most important thing I looked for in VR headset is instrument clarity. I will admit I am a total unapologetic spoiled VR snob having owned first a Pimax 8kx and now thankfully a Varjo Aero. I completely understand the expense I’ve spent to chase the VR dream so @guitarxe I would heed the advice of the phenomenal VR members here that recommend the best headset for instrument clarity in whatever price range you are looking at. Being able to easily read and understand your instruments, gauges, HUD and such is much more important and enjoyable than the “clarity” of a building or terrain IMHO. With that said welcome to the Dark Side and we are happy you want to join VR flying.
  20. I agree 100% with dburne.. bind headset center to your HOTAS. I have the same problem every time it might have something to do with your headset alignment or who knows I just re-center as soon as the hanger screen appears and it is just second nature now. Easier solution than running down the exact problem. Also the benefit of binding the re-center to your HOTAS is you will discover the more you fly you might have to re-center at times. I know when I am doing slow orbits in the A10 and looking down to the left or right for extended amount of time I sometimes need to re-center. Hope this binding the re-center is the easy fix
