Varjo Aero: Общее руководство для новых владельцев
Rodeo replied to Supmua's topic in Virtual Reality
So after “stress testing” the Sinai map and my Aero.. granted I’m aware of what a beast my overall system is now but WOW it is a great time to be an Aero owner!!! Flew OV-10 mod (the most demanding aircraft on a VR system I’ve experienced ) at sunset from Cairo West and circled the pyramids at low altitude until all the lights of the city came on. I was well above 65fps until then and then a slow down and stutter for approximately 90 seconds at a frame rate as low as 42 but averaged low 50s. I was flying into the city with the traffic and city’s light getting into full effect. After the lighting transition “completed” with sunset I again was 65fps+ and was averaging high 70s or very low 80s and running silky smooth. A couple minor stutters but nothing like I normally experience with the OV-10. This was all done on MT with most setting as high you can set and civilian traffic on medium. Just thought y’all would like to know. -
My father in-law is a general contractor and 20 years ago he was trying to get in on a group purchase of 50” plasma TVs for $10k a piece

@MAThrasher… well we both have same taste in VR headsets and our office’s wall coloring … it seems like a tracking issue and I’m curious if the glass off your frames may be causing interference. I had to remove one that was interfering when I looked hard left and caused some issues. Just an idea

What are you flying? or was flying?

The pyramids Closest to Cairo West. It is at base on the ridge line that is border between Pyramid Complex and the urban sprawl. The Sphinx is facing the city. I missed it the first time as well

My same experiences but I do have this beast of a new machine so I might not be best at testing for general public. I am currently building a Scud Hunting mission to slightly start push limits.

Well I did my version of VR “stress test” a few minutes ago.. I know I’ve got an optimized system but here is the nice and surprising results: Flew OV-10 mod (the most demanding aircraft on a VR system I’ve experienced ) at sunset from Cairo West and circled the pyramids at low altitude until all the lights of the city came on. For reference I love flying the Bronco but with my old PC and Pimax 8kx I had to scale back all of my setting and civilian traffic off and the system still struggled with FPS on any maps; I know MT is helping a lot but seems OV-10 needs a lot of help in VR. I know my new system is top line but ORT did a great job with what they could do and I am encouraged by reading everyone else’s reviews and performance reports for the future of this map.

Same here with A10CII

Lucky... we have a wedding to attend this weekend but thankfully it is in town. Maybe Sunday morning, if my head doesn't hurt from adult beverages, I'll get a little quiet time while my family sleeps to really explore outside of my Cairo flight last night. Enjoy

I completely understand your point.. I wish items were as hi-res as the trailer showed; I learned quickly with DCS YT video teasers the details/resolution is always better than what we get/experience. My point is that with such a complex system and the normal gremlins of a release I can see a “throttling” of resolution to help the initial release function with minimal bugs hence Early Release status and the EA discount on price to “compensate” us for lower “quality”. Just look towards the SA and even Normandy 2.0 release and resolution and item details are constantly improved. I can only imagine the cascading “waterfall” of issues and bugs that ORT Team are dealing with behind the scenes this morning. I have a feeling that once the map phases are completed we will see a much better details.

Remember it is in Early Release.. plus no telling if the trailer was done with a little new magic, cough cough Vulcan, for testing

I just flew from West Cairo to Cairo Int in the Ah-64… WOW. I set the date for April 1st at 0600 and amazing. I’ve never been to Cairo but spent plenty of time in ME and seeing the dusty haze in the rising sun (which I think is beautiful) and the Apache shadow across the Pyramids was just stunning. Amazing job @OnReTech with everything and integration into ED’s system. I fly in VR and as I hit the Nile in downtown and banked left I got that familiar feeling in my stomach of flying low and hard in a helo. Absolutely great experience for the digital landscape. Now time to get to do some combat

I’m in middle of downloading update.. I might get to fly a little tonight I have to smoke 20lbs of pork for my daughter’s birthday tomorrow and I will start cooking it at midnight… oh so what to do while I wait (as long downloads get completed)

All paid.. now the download begins
-
It is in my Profile page awaiting payment.. PayPal link not working yet. Not like I could download and fly it today with my schedule. BTW again hat tip to ORT.. two weeks ago they joked about 'two weeks"
-
I've been a hour but keep getting "502 Bad Gateway"... all I want to do is give ED my $$$

Well #2 won out officially... I voted for #4 in haste and really liked #2 after looking at it more. Great Job again ORT

CONGRATS @OnReTech!!!!!!!! Looking forward to getting in the air now.

I agree 100%… I am now more excited for Sinai whenever it comes. Of course I declared my man crush for ORT the other day over how they been on their communications and dialog on the forum

So off DCS topic but interesting story; a few years ago, pre-virus, my best friend (retired Green Beret) was diving in Saipan with U.S. Joint POW-MIA Accounting Command (JPAC) documenting wreckages and searching for US personal. He dove on a great amount of Japanese planes but finally he radio up to the surface that he found US wreckage. Topside doubted him and asked for confirmation. His response "I'm staring at the white letters on the tires that spell GOODYEAR"... topside responded "Copy we will take that as confirmation"... I know a lot more about that wreckage than I can share on open channels but thought you would like that little snippet of the story.

This is my big issue with upcoming Next-Gen headsets and use within DCS.. just because new headset does x, y and z doesn’t mean DCS will support it
-
No offense.. I have a man crush on you ORT
