  1. No telling… I have my suspicions that it will be prior to the F15E release but anyone guess. Now that the Warbird sale (tied to Normandy 2.0) ended last Sunday the runway is clear for the next big thing hopefully this weekend. One thing guaranteed is that ORT is the undisputed champion of developer communications!!!! 1,209,600 seconds
  2. Raz, IMHO, is handling this release poorly. They seem to be following a script that a lot of companies across a lot of small boutique industries do; I know because I’ve been guilty of following the same playbook as well by my customers. What it appears to me is that Raz is following the data and analytics when it comes to choosing YT Content Creators and coordinating directly or indirectly video releases and content… your point on their handling of this release is correct. However having worked with a lot of YT Channels over past decade, and still today, none of them are releasing videos “to rub in people faces”. The top YT Creators, in any industry, put long hours in writing the scripts, creating the content, editing and then all the headaches of dealing with YT to release quality videos. Additionally with F15E and DCS in general think of the time and energy that goes into learning a new module as quickly and professionally as you can to get the best video released ahead of the pack. That is why someone can not simply enter the content creation world because of data on views and all the analytics companies such as Raz look at and will just ignore or dismiss amateur YT channels; trust me I have my fair share of amateur ask for free products all the time to “review”. I have great respect for the DCS YT Channels and all that they do for the community. For many this started as and still is a passion product. Good for them to get Development products to fly and review because it is a fair trade off for their hard work towards all of our collective passion which is DCS.
  3. Yes the majority of "missing" panels were moved to the backseat for the WSO
  4. True but Apache was an ED product not a 3rd Party Dev which is another layer of complications.
  5. 100% agree.. and the frustrating thing is we know how wonderful a company can be because of OnReTech’s communications on the Sinai map has been over on their thread.
  6. I noticed it a time or two flying in broken clouds with the sun just a certain way as I was banking after launching Mavericks.. not sure if this trick is a resolution but I closed my eyes for a brief nanosecond and resolved the issue. I did it three or four times and each time the box disappeared. Not sure if the issue has to do with the headsets internal calibration but I’ll try it out again next time it happened. Also here is the video you asked about. It is the install for DFR
  7. I agree 100%… my speculation is that ED and the 3rd Parties Devs wasn’t expecting such a positive result/outcome from the MT deployment and, again my speculation, may have caused some reworking of bugs from Razbam. In my grown up job we attempted a pre-order on one of our products that was very complex system. We were a younger company and thought we were going to rule the world… however lessons learned to NEVER do that again. We made it out alive but had a lot of scraps and scars from forums and social media; luckily this was 12 years ago and social wasn’t what it is now. We made the same mistakes of early products going to content creators and incentive programs. I try to give Raz some grace over this (though I’ve made a few jokes at their expense) but it is a little frustrating that something like the ebook hasn’t been delivered, that I know of, and the variety of YT content out there does frustrate the buying public. Guess my point is I’ve lived a similar mistake and can appreciate both sides, the Company’s and the buying public’s but yes this is a frustrating situation for all.
  8. You are welcome and I hope install and everything goes as well for you as it did for me. I got a quick flight in on Wednesday and things were as great as on Monday.
  9. Here all… This just popped up on my YouTube feed. Not thinking any release soon
  10. I second this.. and would welcome it. With summer months starting here in the Northern Hemisphere I want to spend sometime in the Sinai flying missions while still having time to enjoy the outdoors. Learning a new aircraft systems would have been great when the weather was so bad the last few months of winter/spring.
  11. Agreed we will not see it tomorrow. Also considering the WarBird sale is still active until this Sunday; personally if I was ED's business development/sales I wouldn't have overlapping promotions with a previous release, i.e. Normandy 2.0 which the Warbird sale was specifically timed with. All chess pieces of business relationships/development and we users are just the pawns

The Warbird sale ends this Sunday. I am not convinced that ED runs a release, this map or F15E, while any other promotion is running tied to another company’s release. BTW @OnReTech you all are amazing with your communication and consumer interactions. I would support your product just on those traits alone but how amazing your map is looking has me dreaming at night of new missions. Looking forward to its release; bravo.
  13. I just use my mouse to navigate things as normal. Again for DCS it works but if you branch out into other VR experiences I don’t know nor have any experience; my VR on PC is only for DCS.
  14. I have one tracking station centered mounted over my monitor and works great. I will be surprised if you have any real issues with installation; the Varjo Base program is very user friendly. You will have to set up a Steam account and SteamVR but the OpenXr and DFR for DCS is simple. Follow Str][kerTV instructions, @mbucchia recommended in his instructions on his install and it is what I followed. Also it wouldn't hurt to have a controllers but not required; I still haven't even unpacked them a year later (got them with my 8kx)
  15. OMG!!!!! I got home late Sunday so yesterday I carved out some time to get the Aero setup. Easiest setup especially compared to Pimax (my only experience). I additionally (and very easily) installed @mbucchia Varjo-Foveated (THANK YOU @mbucchia you once again releasing an amazing tool). Everything again went simple and easily. I am thinking of doing my own post of Varjo vs Pimax based on my experiences sometime soon but here is my take away... If you are on the fence of buying a Varjo my experience is take advantage of this sale. My biggest struggled with the Pimax 8kx was always the clarity of of gauges and the MFDS especially with Targeting Pod clarity (I fly mostly A10C II). I was blown away by the Aero clarity vs Pimax and with the Dynamic Foveated Rendering enabled the clarity of the gauges and MFDS text was better than 2D on my curved LG monitor and actually rivals Zooming in on the gauges and such in 2D. This was everything that I dreamed of DCS VR quality being. I'm sure after sometime I will get frustrated over something but flying for a year with 8Kx during and including all the changes with MT and OpenXr I am IMPRESSED with the Aero. I didn't run any FPS numbers yesterday I was just throughly enjoying the experience. I will give Pimax credit for the large FOV and perhaps flying in MSFS I can see that advantage in a Civilian aircraft but I felt that the Aero FOV experience more was inline with wearing an actual military helmet (based on my limited experiences sitting in left seats in a few helicopters) and seeing we are flying in a Mil sim I felt the Aero FOV was within reason of realism. Anyways a quick update and encouragement to take advantage of the sale if you are serious about adding the Aero into your experience.
  16. Plan on doing a big post on my rig/simpit itself and will include thoughts on the VR as well.
  17. Thanks WipeUout.. yeah I was using OpenXr Pimax since it came out last year. Other update.. Aero is getting delivered today but I’m currently on a plane and will not be home from this trip until late Sunday night.
  18. The Pimax was great until just recently now it’s a complete train wreck and customer service is not helpful. The latest was I lost lighthouse connection and had to switch to 9 axis. A couple people using 8kx on MSFS reported that as well and had similar issues with customer service not having a solution. Prior to that was a version update that crashed the headset and several long hours resolving it. I didn’t want to push to hard because I don’t want to go through the whole return process and maybe jeopardize the full value trade-in for the 12kx (whenever that happens) that my headset qualifies for. I originally wanted to go with the Aero but the long lead time last year plus Pimax trade in program tempted me with 8kx.
  19. I said I wouldn't pick on any one company when I started this thread... but c'mon
  20. Well good news is my headset shipped... bad new it left the factory via FedEx on May 1st; Oh well still excited for it!!!! It is stuck in Japan waiting Customs form that I had to fill out yesterday though.
  21. 1,209,600.... the amount of seconds in 14 days
  22. Just about right for me… I ordered mine two weeks ago before the sale announcement . Oh well switching from the awful Pimax 8kx so I’ll at least be happier.
  23. Eating lunch and scrolling through Youtube and found this delight just released a hour before. Scud hunting will get interesting and complex now I hope.
