It is targetwe to the Wall Street and Worldwide business analysts that only care about headlines and “emerging” technologies. Apple is one of the best at playing that game although they have a proven track record with world changing ideas. Facebook/Meta was hoping to be the “first” in the VR space for profit and once again Zuck proved he is a one hit wonder (only success is actual creation of FB). Sorry I got off topic.. could I interest you in some Tupperware or Avon or better yet the health benefits of essential oils

You can too with an attitude like yours.. here is a list of opportunities that might help… https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_multi-level_marketing_companies I went a little more difficult route by building a company from scratch but that just my personal work ethic. BTW this thread is about an Apple Product… nothing Apple does is cheap so discussing higher priced headsets is appropriate for this discussion.

… so anyways back on topic. I am full card carrying Apple Cultist but in regards to the headset and DCS the issue is going to be with any next gen system is how well will it integrate within DCS. I jumped head first into VR last year with the Pimax 8kx and not knowing anything my first impression was “amazing”. I took delivery of it the same week the Pimax OpenXR tool was released. But after a year and all the changes with MT and just the lack of quality, IMHO, of Pimax I abandoned it. Just within the last month I switched to the Aero and I am so happy I did. I say all that because now having both “high end” headsets and my experiences with them in DCS I do not see the need (although I understand the desire) to put the money towards any of the soon to be released headset. I don’t think the internal game mechanics of DCS will be able to keep up with the next Gen technologies. Not to sound like an Aero fan boy (which I guess I now am) but I think that it is a great balance of performance and technologies for DCS. I don’t see ED creating a system that the Aero will become obsolete but only will become better. Be it the new Apple headset or Pimax 12kx or even one of Varjo’s current professional grade if the ED/DCS program doesn’t support the new technologies you will be wasting money.

Awesome.. I have zero experience with the G2 but for me the simplicity of the Aero integration with DCS/OpenXR is so nice compared to 8kx start up “procedures”. The headphone integration is quite easy and nice with the Nova 7 plus I like that the Nova bluetooths to my phone so I don’t miss the wife’s calls while flying -

After my 8kx experience both with product and support I would avoid chasing Pimax IMHO -
Given ORT’s level of engagement, humor, and constant communications on this forum I for one am quite happy to wait as long as it takes for the release. The other Devs should take notice to the professionalism ORT is showing when it comes to development. (I do have my gut feeling that we wouldn’t be waiting much longer though )

I found this report "A10 Operations and the Battle for North Norway 1988" a few years ago so naturally I am excited by the release of this map. Yes it is specific for the A10's deployment in the Kola region but a lot of useful information for other aircrafts/helos and the Soviet doctrine for the Kola in 1988. Hopefully some of the campaign developers have read this report as well. Enjoy https://www.rand.org/content/dam/rand/pubs/reports/2009/R3439.pdf

Already did once I looked at my own screenshot.. yeah moment. Although the Aero rocked it at that low setting especially coming from the 8kx (I restored all my setting to default when I switched to Aero BTW) -
Great video.. for 'Back Control' and "WSO Integration' goto 1:25:15 and 1:54:03 respectively.

So I feel a little silly and maybe there is a setting or two I'm missing but I think I found part of my problem.. and to not admit my own failures I will blame bad habits caused by Pimax . I think part of my problem is that with the 8kx the FOV is that little bit wider but the resolution is way behind the Aero. Flying the 8kx the past year (on my old Dell with 3090) the resolution was so bad/poor that I would have to adjust the cockpit camera way forward to help with MFD resolutions. So much so I have the camera view adjustments bound to my HOTAS. A year of doing that certain bad habits were formed constantly adjusting so I could at least utilize the MFDs. Now with the Aero’s amazing resolution and DFR I only make micro adjustments to fit my personal preference with the cockpit camera. What I DID NOT realize or think of was the vertical seat adjustment in the A10. The combination of the 8kx FOV and probably my calibration with the headset I never messed with the verticals seat adjustment because I was making the cockpit cam adjustments. Now with the Aero I am realizing that the default seat position is way to high for my headset. Once I lower my seat then adjust the cockpit camera the left and right side panels are much easier to look at and slightly larger. Again I am sure there might be a little tweak somewhere in system settings but this solution was a big help with actually seeing the radio and CDU (not resolution but actually being able to look down naturally and they are close to were they suppose to be). Thanks again everyone -
Here is a fun little upgrade for my keyboard and keypad for my sim-pit. I did the pre-order last March and finally arrived this weekend. I fly mostly in VR so this is a nice update to my 23 keypad that I have key binds to; also I updated my standard keyboard to match. https://kono.store/products/epbt-warrior-mk-keycap-set-by-alohakb

Thanks @Willdass This is such a minor problem given the huge gains I have gotten from switching. I'll disable the MSAA as suggested by @dburne and see what happens. -

Thanks for taking the time and interest in my issue; I think I have the latest version. I just upgraded from the Pimax 8kx to Aero two weeks ago. I think that was the latest DFR version. Thanks again -

Same here.. fly VR and use trackball when needed. I have left/right and scroll bonded to my joystick but there is few times need to go the the trackball. Also like you 1Bravo9 I don’t have much real estate in my simpit.

I’ll say it again.. I am more anticipating the Sinai release happening sooner than the F15E now (and I pre-ordered day one). It’s the start of summer time here in the Northern Hemisphere, my kids are home from college, and outdoor activities (cough cough enjoying adult beverages with friends) takes a lot of my time. I would much rather fly a new map with the short amount of time to myself than try to learn a new aircraft. So I have just accepted it will happen when it happens.

Quick question y’all… love my Aero and everything has been running so smooth and clear; absolute amazing compared to the 8kx IMHO… anyways I fly the A10CII predominately and my only complaint in a “default” state (I haven’t messed with any in-game VR settings) is that my left and right instrument panels seems disproportionately smaller scale. I’m amazed how clearly I can read the labels on the CDU buttons and all but CDU, Radios, and panels seem to small compared to front instruments and HUD. Am I missing something like messing with PD setting or such? Basically seems like the the cockpit is very long and narrow if that makes sense. Sorry about the rambling
