  1. I thought that wasn't supposed to happen?
  2. 2nd. The community 4K templates are amazing. I don't even have a 4K monitor, but the texturing is so much higher quality. I'm thinking specifically of the 4K version of the default Hornet livery.
  3. I believe if you spawn into a hot, loaded aircraft, the mavs and HMD are already alligned.
  4. The best way to deal with a Tunguska is to just stay at least 12,000' above it.
  5. Although if for some reason you do want to lase, the game seems to handle single stage triggers just fine, so if guns aren't selected and you squeeze the trigger then just the laser fires if armed.
  6. I didn't watch the track, but if you want the Harm to fly toward a steerpoint, you have to change it to launch in PB mode and have that steerpoint selected as your nav point. If you are just using the HAD, you want to be PGM3 at most for it to home in. The old Harms aren't actually very smart weapons and the sites do not turn their radars off by default. If you do it from the Harm weapon page, I'm not sure it tells you how good the accuracy is gonna be. It's not gonna be as good as with HTS and PGM 3 or less.

  8. This is amazing. Is there anyway to replace default skins with these? Is there a way to do it without triggering IC?
  9. It kinda seems like the backup analog altimeter and the HUD are different. The gauge seems to show some whacky number that is way off even though the gauge is where the QNH is set and where the HUD should be getting its data from, I'd think.
  10. Yeah, I just wanted to reiterate it, because it seems like an easy fix and it's really needed.
  11. Just like the title says: shouldn't the stablators sag back when the plane shuts down? Instead they stay at whatever trim you were at. It looks especially odd when you pull up to a bunch of unstarted or static or ai controlled Hornets and all their tails are sagging, then you shutdown and yours are still trimmed nose high.
  12. Would be nice. It seems like the Hornet has some of this already. Also, why do I lose INS whenever I run out of fuel? Makes dead stick landing pretty hard.
  13. Played that first video at half speed and there's maybe a little drop. Certainly not a rise. It does look like early rotation, but as someone else stated, it may just be the gear coming out of the cat shuttle. Keep in mind also that we don't know how much fuel that plane is carrying. They often launch with a partial fuel load and then go tank. Another thing to keep in mind: The carrier in DCS doesn't bob much if at all. IRL, they do quite a bit, even on calm seas. It actually seems like they time the cat shot so that the aircraft come off the carrier as the ship reaches the top of the swell and as the aircraft flies away the carrier drops down again into the trough of the wave. Look up some rougher seas ops and you'll see what I mean. It looks like the plane is going to get flung into the ocean when they hit the button. Then the carrier gets lifted up again on the next wave and off the plane goes. Then the carrier drops down again. Depending on where and how it is videoed, that would make the plane look like it's not dropping, or even that it's rising right away. What's actually happening is the carrier is dropping into the next trough.
  14. Solved: I had checked Loudness Equalization in my Realtek app thingy. I unchecked it and volumes are back to where I expect them to be. For a lot of things, lol.
  15. Hm. It definitely seemed like the audio changed a bit with this patch. Certain small things. Especially with srs; everyone is quiet. In game radio speech temporarily lowers beeping in the cockpit while radio is receiving. External view jet roar not as loud. Am I really the only one getting this? I am not using any sound mods. I haven't downloaded any new mods in a while. Lowering missile warning lowered all the RWR. Kinda like the Hornet. Which needed lowering too. I will try to attach a track, but idk if I'll get anything meaningful.
  16. If you say so, but it definitely makes it so you can hit stationary vehicles with JDAMs.
  17. As of the most recent open beta patch, lowering my threat warning volume via the knob doesn't seem to do anything. All the different sounds the RWR makes in the F-16 are really annoying. Even on a fairly empty map, the E3 spikes get annoying without being able to turn the volume down. Please fix. Thanks in advance. Oh and GM radar freezing is definitely still broken.
  18. You might be able to do this in the confusing Logitech app. Other than that, it might be in General and not plane specific.
  19. Is it when the waypoint advances? Altitude warning?
  20. Wing fold lever to fold = hi/lo becomes a toggle.
  21. The time/video link shows a Hornet with few external stores and what looks to be a pretty stiff wind over the deck. Not sure why you wouldn't drop a few feet normally.
  22. Post-2008, their offensive air-to-ground capabilities -- namely, which weapons they can carry -- probably come more in line with each other, but that timeframe isn't the focus of the modules.
  23. Even before this, I noticed that if the TGP is a vehicle, the laser is kinda needed to hit it. You can actually see the coordinates in the TGP cam MFD change. I assume that without the laser, the TGP is guestimating the coordinates behind and below the vehicle/building/bridge (from its PoV). That is the reason for all this and the new instructions, I'd suppose. And it would be somewhat realistic. It wouldn't effect accuracy of drop onto preplanned coordinates or mark points, but the mark point coordinates could still be wrong if not lasing when marking. Make sure laser is armed and pull trigger. TMS up if you need to mark, or weapon release if you're in the drop zone. The game seems to make up for not having a 2 stage trigger on your stick, which is pretty nice. Not even sure you need the full 3 seconds either. It will assign whatever coordinates you're getting to the GPS guided weapon upon launch. Increasing the dive angle of the bomb will also help with accuracy, although it reduces range.
  24. +2. Planes need this. The sun is bright.
  25. Seems to have to do with whether or not it's full screen. I checked that box and it helped. Thanks Windows. I was using full screen windowed for some reason. Probably because you can click on other stuff on the other monitor without the game minimizing. Marking solved because I think it's a Windows issue.
