The TGP seems very "sticky". In other words, when changing waypoints, even with the TGP in standby because a jettison switched the plane out of AG mode (and therefore the TGP into standby) the steering info is often incorrect when the waypoint is then changed. It still points to...somewhere. maybe where the TGP was last locked, but I think it's closer to where the TGP was looking right before it completely stows itself. I'll try to get a track. It's really frustrating that the plane, especially when in NAV, doesn't navigate to where it should. It's getting old constantly triple checking that I'm headed in the right direction. It seems like something has always been super weird with the F-16 and steering cues. And CZ or TMS down doesn't seem to be available in standby, so I have to switch the airplane, or at least the pod, back to AG and do a TMS down with the TGP screen as SOI to make sure I'm headed remotely in the right direction. I could be misremembering a little but it definitely has always been frustrating and it some ways, it seems to have gotten worse. Shouldn't switching to NAV via push button or stores jettison give me, ya know, proper navigation (again, the TGP is set to standby in NAV mode)? Maybe check the code and make sure SPIs are deselected when entering NAV?

Common sense alone would dictate that. Although this is primarily the US military we're talking about so HAH! Even disregarding common sense, a pilot or WSO in the USAF is an officer and a JTAC/TACP on the ground is usually an enlisted MOS. If an officer is calling in an airstrike themselves something has really gone badly on the ground. What this means at the most basic sense is that usually the person actually pressing the weapon release button outranks the person asking for said weapon. Maybe some exceptions for different guns on the AC-130 but the weapons deployment would still at some level be controlled by an officer in the plane with the enlisted men loading and firing the gun and that officer may even have some kind of electronic authorize switch that is able to override the trigger on the guns. No idea on that last point, though. It just seems plausible. Sorry I don't have any sources to cite, but I bet if you looked at an official Airforce careers website you'd clearly see that pilots and WSOs are officer MOSs and TACP or CCT are enlisted MOSs.

There aren't really TOO and PP modes in our F-16. The bomb will go to wherever your SPI is. How you get that is up to you. I actually like how much more straight forward it is than the Hornet.

Nope, that was a controls assignment bug on my part. Connecting my replacement throttle did all kinds of weirdness because of the different device ID. And I didn't even assign that button to the throttle.

Of course that was it Ran with nothing but SRS. Now I have to figure out what it was.

I will try, but I don't think that's it. There's plenty of errors in paid modules too. Ones I didn't even have. It just can't load the map and then crashes. It seems to only be in multiplayer. dcs.log-20231227-200259.zip

I tried emptying the folders. No good. Is it a change in the scripting language that is just making mission load and then CTD? Is my game just taking the week off like a lot of other people this week? Between this and the weird ending of Cyberpunk I'm not having a great time. And this ski season has been pretty snowless so the only diversion I have right now is video games. So depressing

Oh and I can't seem to connect to a single mp server. Not fun. dcs.log-20231226-175604.zip

Tried deleting FXO and Metashaders files. Got all the way to Net Sim Post Start before crash. Log file attached. 1 thing I have noticed in the past is that is the part that uses the most computing power. As it is right now, I can't seem to connect to any servers at all. I can start my own locally and play Pretense just fine. I can play singleplayer just fine. No mp. Sucks! dcs.log-20231226-175604.zip

I am crashing on nearly every server I try to join. I keep sending crash reports. I did a verify. Is it something in the change in scripting since the last couple updates? It's incredibly frustrating that I can't seem to play online with anyone.

Pretense - Dynamic Campaign

Edit: read your post more closely but I don't exactly see what I should edit. Those just look like the missions a player can assign themselves. How do I just reduce REDFOR resources? -

But doesn't that also slow down allied missions? Seems like there's only 1 set of values both sides draw from. DCS needs a mission param system. It's also hard not seeing everything broken out into separate files. Is that LUA thing? -
Well, <profanity>. I stand corrected. Thank you all and have a Merry Christmas or Happy Isaac Newton's Birthday or whatever you do.

Pretense - Dynamic Campaign
SickSidewinder9 replied to Dzsekeb's topic in User Created Missions General
Sorry if mentioned before, but are there some values to tweak to make this mission more singleplayer friendly? Like less red air, less red resupply, stuff like that? Also, where is the value to change whether or not I have to be landed in a safe zone to except missions? Would sure make adding a carrier simpler, among other things. -
The cage/uncage button now just expanded radar when aim-9 selected. They didn't appear to track the target at all. Cargo plane, so it should have been easy. No tone. Cage/uncage should still work, especially if I'm trying to get whatever is in front of me to lock without radar. Not much different than how well they tracked before the update, but still, come on. Gimme tone!

That's very precise, but ok. Was thinking of something like Sedlo's BFM trainer where a bad guy can be spawned in front of you. Doesn't really work that way. They need some kind of merge behavior not based on anything so precise.
-
Uhhhh, pretty sure they're all spin stabilized, what are you guys citing?
-
I posted the track here instead of starting a new thread.
-
Please make the stablators sag when you shut down.

That paint scheme... -
Why don't weapons spin? Are the animation so hard tied to weapon movement? Basically every air launched weapon, every ground fired projectile, every missile and every bomb (exceptions being JSOW, SDB, maybe cruise missiles, that type of thing) will spin when released or fired. I think it's actually important for stability and accuracy just like how gun barrels are rifled to impart spin on the projectile. You can even see how the winglets and control surfaces on the GBU-24 are slightly staggered to promote spin. It looks really weird in game that weapons never spin, especially weapons like laser guided bombs or Snakeeyes that have longer surfaces that pop out. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.

What we also need is a Merge task for waypoints. As it is now, an AI adversary won't really do a merge, they will immediately start maneuvering or even firing weapons. A task that limits that behavior until a certain waypoint or condition is met (distance decreases to a very small number than starts increasing again?).

I dropped the 4 of my JDAM's and still had wing tanks with a bit of fuel in them when the light came on. Why are people not supposed to post links to sources? People say some pretty specific stuff with nothing to back it up. How are we supposed to try to filter the bs from the real? Is it because of those leaked controversies involving whichever other game that may have involved material that is still classified?

Still can't use built in VoIP and I must not be the only one, because every server still seems to use SRS. Which uses my mic just fine, btw. Also, 1440p is still a little blurry in the cockpit even with DLSS and lots of sharpening. Makes me feel like something is wrong with me eyes after a while. Been playing lots of Cyberpunk 2077 lately and nothing is blurry with full DLAA, windowed full screen mode, etc. Just like in DCS. Great framerates. Unheard of. My grandparents and great grandparents came to America with a dream of 60FPS and now I'm getting 144 and have to cap it because that's my monitor's refresh rate. BUT MFD'S AND WARNING LIGHTS ARE BLURRY until I zoom in a little ways. Then they actually get clearer. I do not use depth of field or motion blur. It's lack of a certain kind of AA, I think.
-
Wait F-ACK is IFF Acknowledge? For some reason I always think it's Fault Acknowledge. That's funny about the switch logic with gear or fuel door. Really need someone from ED to weigh in here. Even if it's just to tell us they're still looking into it. Where is that quote from and what context? Heavy bombs on the inner wing pylons would be an "air to ground loadout". I see vague instructions like that all the time in my work as an independent installer of IT/network stuff.
-
You had stores config light with full wing tanks and nothing on the outers? Just missiles? Kinda seems like the warning is triggered by the wrong pylons, then.
