  1. I will try, but I don't think that's it. There's plenty of errors in paid modules too. Ones I didn't even have. It just can't load the map and then crashes. It seems to only be in multiplayer. dcs.log-20231227-200259.zip
  2. I tried emptying the folders. No good. Is it a change in the scripting language that is just making mission load and then CTD? Is my game just taking the week off like a lot of other people this week? Between this and the weird ending of Cyberpunk I'm not having a great time. And this ski season has been pretty snowless so the only diversion I have right now is video games. So depressing
  3. Oh and I can't seem to connect to a single mp server. Not fun. dcs.log-20231226-175604.zip
  4. Tried deleting FXO and Metashaders files. Got all the way to Net Sim Post Start before crash. Log file attached. 1 thing I have noticed in the past is that is the part that uses the most computing power. As it is right now, I can't seem to connect to any servers at all. I can start my own locally and play Pretense just fine. I can play singleplayer just fine. No mp. Sucks! dcs.log-20231226-175604.zip
  5. I am crashing on nearly every server I try to join. I keep sending crash reports. I did a verify. Is it something in the change in scripting since the last couple updates? It's incredibly frustrating that I can't seem to play online with anyone.
  6. Well, <profanity>. I stand corrected. Thank you all and have a Merry Christmas or Happy Isaac Newton's Birthday or whatever you do.
  7. The cage/uncage button now just expanded radar when aim-9 selected. They didn't appear to track the target at all. Cargo plane, so it should have been easy. No tone. Cage/uncage should still work, especially if I'm trying to get whatever is in front of me to lock without radar. Not much different than how well they tracked before the update, but still, come on. Gimme tone!
  8. That's very precise, but ok. Was thinking of something like Sedlo's BFM trainer where a bad guy can be spawned in front of you. Doesn't really work that way. They need some kind of merge behavior not based on anything so precise.
  9. Uhhhh, pretty sure they're all spin stabilized, what are you guys citing?
  10. I posted the track here instead of starting a new thread.
  11. Why don't weapons spin? Are the animation so hard tied to weapon movement? Basically every air launched weapon, every ground fired projectile, every missile and every bomb (exceptions being JSOW, SDB, maybe cruise missiles, that type of thing) will spin when released or fired. I think it's actually important for stability and accuracy just like how gun barrels are rifled to impart spin on the projectile. You can even see how the winglets and control surfaces on the GBU-24 are slightly staggered to promote spin. It looks really weird in game that weapons never spin, especially weapons like laser guided bombs or Snakeeyes that have longer surfaces that pop out. Once you see it, you can't unsee it.
  12. What we also need is a Merge task for waypoints. As it is now, an AI adversary won't really do a merge, they will immediately start maneuvering or even firing weapons. A task that limits that behavior until a certain waypoint or condition is met (distance decreases to a very small number than starts increasing again?).
  13. I dropped the 4 of my JDAM's and still had wing tanks with a bit of fuel in them when the light came on. Why are people not supposed to post links to sources? People say some pretty specific stuff with nothing to back it up. How are we supposed to try to filter the bs from the real? Is it because of those leaked controversies involving whichever other game that may have involved material that is still classified?
  14. Still can't use built in VoIP and I must not be the only one, because every server still seems to use SRS. Which uses my mic just fine, btw. Also, 1440p is still a little blurry in the cockpit even with DLSS and lots of sharpening. Makes me feel like something is wrong with me eyes after a while. Been playing lots of Cyberpunk 2077 lately and nothing is blurry with full DLAA, windowed full screen mode, etc. Just like in DCS. Great framerates. Unheard of. My grandparents and great grandparents came to America with a dream of 60FPS and now I'm getting 144 and have to cap it because that's my monitor's refresh rate. BUT MFD'S AND WARNING LIGHTS ARE BLURRY until I zoom in a little ways. Then they actually get clearer. I do not use depth of field or motion blur. It's lack of a certain kind of AA, I think.
  15. Wait F-ACK is IFF Acknowledge? For some reason I always think it's Fault Acknowledge. That's funny about the switch logic with gear or fuel door. Really need someone from ED to weigh in here. Even if it's just to tell us they're still looking into it. Where is that quote from and what context? Heavy bombs on the inner wing pylons would be an "air to ground loadout". I see vague instructions like that all the time in my work as an independent installer of IT/network stuff.
  16. You had stores config light with full wing tanks and nothing on the outers? Just missiles? Kinda seems like the warning is triggered by the wrong pylons, then.
  17. That doesn't sound right. My understanding is that it has to do with the CG shifting forward when those big fuel tanks are on the inner pylons. And maybe certain other heavy loads there like big bombs.
  18. What actually is the problem, they don't line up with the JBD's? Maybe they didn't IRL. And the cat hookup is different, as we discussed.
  19. Seems fixed, thanks.
  20. So, it looks like this got implemented in the latest update, but didn't see it mentioned in the latest changelog. Not sure it's right though? Or maybe it is? Loaded up with tanks and 4 GBU-38's on the outer pilots after a hot start (which, btw, should have parking brake on and ejection seat arm off). I saw the config light and thought "wow, that's new and cool". It went out when I switched to cat 3 as expected. After dropping the 4th JDAM, but still having around a thousand pounds of fuel in the wing tanks, it went back on. Had to clear master caution twice. I think I needed to press the fault acknowledge button too maybe? It stayed out the 2nd time. Also, just to check, I switched to cat 1 and it went out. Never pulled over 5.5G, either, so I don't think the warning came from that. My question is is this correct behavior? I gather there is a point where there is little enough fuel in the tanks that more than 5.5G's can be pulled, but does the plane know that and trigger a warning? AFAIK, stores cat should have nothing to do with the outer wing pylons and everything to do with inner wing pylons. Is that incorrect? Does overall weight effect this somehow? Was it just a coincidence that after I dropped the last JDAM, I had little enough fuel left in the tanks that it wanted me to switch to cat 1? Eventually, I did a stores jettison and headed home. In cat 1 with no master caution, again as expected. Would be kinda cool if the plane knew when I should switch to cat 1 based on total weight or inner pylon weight, but shouldn't the outer pylons not effect that at all? TIA I have a attached a track. stores config.trk
  21. just updated to latest open beta. Appreciate the indicator in the server list. Still a nightmare buzzing noise when trying to test the mic. Well, at first I hear nothing when I click test mic. Just see the slider wiggling back and forth. Go into individual radio options and click test in the sound effects and get an awful sound. Again, it's not my mic since it works in other apps just fine. Somehow the game just doesn't like this old USB webcam that I use for face tracking and have used as a mic for gaming for ages.
  22. Some may feel differently since it's only a game, but I totally agree. No reason to waste time on Teen Series planes. An Essex class could barely even handle an F-4 (and I guess didn't normally?).
  23. It's a lot of money for what you get, but: I even got mine on sale as "open box". Wouldn't have spent the money on it otherwise.
  24. Is the X56 the best HOTAS out there? No, of course not. But my throttle cracked and crazy glue wasn't quite cutting it, so they sent me a new one without much fuss. Just pics and some basic info. Actually, they sent a whole new retail box with the stick and throttle in there. So I just wanted to make sure people know that they do stand behind their products (For at least 2 years, anyway). Didn't even have to send the broken unit back.
