  1. You may need to hit TMS down twice. First time seems to "unlock" it from something, 2nd time seems to recenter it on the steerpoint. No idea what the correct behavior should be, but TGP slewing messes with the nav system steering cues so much that I'm now just making sure to hit TMS down several times before going back to Nav mode, after changing steerpoints in AG mode, etc.
  2. It got really bad when they added dlss/dlaa. Other means of AA were taken out and either the cockpit displays aren't high rez enough or they just plain need that extra layer of AA. If anyone tested this at ED, they need glasses.
  3. Is there a way to make compatible "light" and regular versions? Servers and lower end PC's could use light and people can opt in to a higher quality version. If the layout of all the terrain and objects is the same, it should be fine. It could even just be built in and go by a check of graphics settings.

  5. Let me guess. No way to use this without breaking IC? The original map just feels so tired now. Would be nice if ED did something. Like incorporate this somehow.

  8. Nevermind, I found them and put them in my Liveries folder. Was just looking in the editor and changing skis/loadouts. It seems some of them have HG wing tanks, and some don't? Is that on purpose?

  13. Blurring is still a problem. I'm in 1440p and however the AA was changed in 2.9 also didn't account for the fact that the UI and cockpit displays are still designed for Windows XP. Maybe it's less blurry in 4K, but it continues to be a problem for me in 1440p. With a quality LG gaming monitor and lots of sharpening. Look at the Master Caution: Now look how much clearer it is when I zoom in. That's what it always used to look like for me before the DLAA/DLSS update. That clear. Now it feels like I need glasses or something. Still has not been addressed, or even really commented on by ED. The state of this game is so behind 2024. And you want me to buy more modules? Lol, no. You can particularly see it in the fonts. It looks like when Windows Clear Type is configured wrong or the resolution is too low. Everything is malformed and a little blurry. Basically, my game was downgraded. Thanks!
  14. Discord SUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCKS There's already a forum post here. Why not use that? Why does everything have to be more complicated and not work nowadays? [/grumpy old man] Same goes for voice chat. I already had to download SRS because the VoIP in DCS is (still) a joke, but I bought a flight sim, so I'm going to use the radio in game, not your stupid discord. It's unnecessary. It is the QR code menu of DCS. Oh, and the invite link still doesn't work. 1 more time for the kids in the back: Discord is a pile of hot garbage.
  15. Oh, I get it now. Just turned DLSS off, but DLAA is on. Didn't realize how those were kinda different. Wow. So much better. I think it may have solved some of the blurring problem. Not sure since my eyes are tired right now. Definitely solves the ghosting problem and still looks pretty good. Just did instant action, but I think my fps will hold up. IDK how/why I never tried this before. Might actually have to turn sharpening down now. It's that good.
  16. How does one jump all the way up to DLAA? Is that just the max quality DLSS?
  17. That A-4E cockpit pic shows an RWR with a screen. What's up with that? Would be nice to not have to listen to PRF tones.
  18. Unified versioning sounds great. Although somehow I see a limited number of people opting into experimental builds in the future, lol. Does this mean that feature releases will be more complete and less buggy? Does this mean fewer QoL updates in between, though? We could always use those.
  19. The YF-17 was designed in the 70's but the avionics/flcs (among other things) are a around decade newer, iirc, which is an enormous leap in computing power. Also, it does seem like things like damage and advisories are much more complete in the Hornet module than the Viper module. There's an entire advisory display in the Viper that is basically non-functional. It will show a FLCS BIT failure now, I think if you cut off the FLCS BIT. That's it.

  21. The jet doesn't just check if those stations are powered on? Also, wing tanks with lots of fuel seems like Cat3. If 500lb bombs on the inner wing pylons triggers cat 3, fuel tanks weighing 4x as much should, unless there's something really really different about the way they are attached. Please let me know if I'm wrong. Also, some of you have managed to get the plane to depart in the wrong stores cat in DCS? And you just have to keep resetting the master caution when you have just TGP and jet wants cat 1? Does the Sniper handle Cat1? I still don't understand if it has more to do with CG or total weight. Both? G-load of the stores/hardpoint combos? Side topic: In 2024 the USAF doesn't have an updated flight control software that takes stores into account for G limiting? A warning like in the F-15? Anything?
  22. As has been mentioned before, what we have now is a weird Frankenpod. The functionality is more like the LITENING but the symbology and such is actually LANTIRN. When we get the Sniper, the LITENING will revert to the LANTIRN. Two weeks (tm)
  23. Thanks, I'll be sure to look that over. What I mean, though, is that, at least in an old version I once ran, I had to go through and comment out all the Western planes that spawned as enemies by default. There were 16's and 18's spawning as Red Air.
