  1. Thank you that is great news!
  2. A buddy and I were just doing some 1v1 dogfighting on his server the other night and one thing I found very frustrating with the M-2000 was that when my RWR detected him I found it very difficult to determine what direction he was coming from because the icon of his aircraft would appear so close to the center of the RWR screen. I even have the RWR duplicated on a second monitor to try and mitigate this a bit but it was still impossible for me to determine what direction the radar signal was coming from. I could only detect that he was locking me up. This makes it impossible to know what kind of defensive manuvers I need to make. Does anyone know how to adjust this somehow? Is it just me? Thanks, Maulkin
  3. I used to do it manually but now I just use this app instead: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=129341 The reason being is that it has made it so easy to create custom kneeboards for each aircraft I have (as well as customize the position and even the colors) But a quick google search also came up with this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=129097
  4. Thanks Bignewy, as it turns out I did! I had installed a runway texture mode a very long time ago and completely forgot about it. I rummaged around in my archives and managed to find the .zip file with the mod and found that if I deleted the following files in D:\Games\DCS World\Bazar\TempTextures the problem is solved: WPP.bmp WPP-KRAY.bmp WPP-ZALIWKA.bmp word2.tga wpp_numbers.tga WPP-CZS.bmp WPP-RUL.bmp WPP-RUL-2.bmp After deleting these files I did not need to perform a repair. It just started working. :)
  5. I fly a Grob 115D in real life and it has a very similar startup procedure to the P-51D in game and I have found that the Grob is *much* easier to start when the engine is cold and than when it is hot. To get around it I have had to give it a bit more throttle than I normally would so instead of a 1/2 inch of throttle I might go as far as a full inch but I would have to be quick to throttle back once I'm sure the engine has caught.
  6. I upgraded from v1.2.x to v1.5.2 and it now appears that some (not all) runways no longer have textures. I tried using "DCS_updater repair" to fix it but it didn't help. Does anyone know how I might fix this? I checked my Alpha and Beta install but neither of them are having this issue... Thanks
  7. I copied the entire mods/aircraft/bf109 folder from my beta install to the final version and discovered the option is now available in the final version (which is awesome!). Devrim: I cannot determine how this is working and I know it is not the same as the English mod I used to use as the older mod had a texture bug where the magnetos are, and this version does not have that texture bug. In any case if it is a corruption of my beta somehow I am really glad it happened :). The other mod I was using did make use of the options menu.
  8. I'm not sure I understand what you mean regarding "did you download the EN for 109". I have been very careful to ensure that both the beta and alpha are clean and without mods of any kind. I have no idea how the EN version of the 109 cockpit got there if it was not included by the beta install.
  9. In the Beta (currently at 1.5.2.48726) there is an english cockpit option in the Options/Special menu and I confirmed that the cockpit is in english when that option is selected. But the Final release version of 1.5.2 appears to be missing this? It is also interesting to note that it is also missing for the Alpha version. Does anyone know how to import this into both the Final release version and the Alpha version?
  10. I have been trying to fix my application found here: http://forums.eagle.ru/showpost.php?p=2554189&postcount=168 but it appears the forum is locked.. :( is it too late?
  11. Click here: http://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/terrains/ There is a new section in the e-shop called "Terrains" but it is only available when you are already in the Terrain section. ;)

  13. I preferred the one from WarthogExtension because it is made of stainless steel and looked like a very high quality setup. I can confirm now that I have one that it is in fact a very high quality setup. One additional perk (which I assume would apply to all extension mods you might get) is that I can offset the center of the stick. This is important if you are center-mounting the stick in your lap. Trying to hold the stick with it centered would start to hurt the wrist trying to get at all buttons and switches. So I have mounted the stick on the mod with it rotated slightly counter-clockwise. The thing I really love about this setup is that it so easy to take my right hand off the stick and fly with my left hand while operating the mouse with my right.
  14. I bought my TM Warthog brand new and even out of the box I was experiencing "stickion". I ordered the 120mm extension mod from here: https://sites.google.com/site/warthogextension/ and it has complete resolved this issue. And my stick looks pretty impressive too. So does my TM Warthog... ;)
  15. I am giving serious consideration on upgrading to this monitor: http://www.samsung.com/levant/consumer/it/monitor/curved-monitor/LS34E790CNS/ZN Does anyone have any experience with ultra wide monitors and specifically curved ultra wide monitors that could advise me of any pitfalls that might be in front of me if I move to this kind of display? Am I going to have distortion issues? Will framerate be impacted to such a negative degree that I will end up longing for my old double 1920x1200 displays? I currently use two 1920x1200 displays side-by-side (one of them for the MFCD's of the A-10C or the Abris+shkval for the Ka-50) and I get a pretty solid 70fps.
  16. It's a bug. It's been reported. This is an open beta so these things should be expected by those who agree to participate in the open beta.
  17. I only mention the Mig's because both times I had just finished the Mig config. Could be a coincidence though
  18. If I zoom out externally from the Mi-8 some parts of the texture become black. you can find my graphics settings here: http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=122496&d=1443846723 I checked the Uh-1H and it does not appear to do this. Only the Mi-8 seems to do this so far.
  19. I compared the cold start P-51D mission between v1.2 and v1.5 and confirmed that with v1.2 the P-51, trucks, and Su-25 all cast a shadow on the ground, but in v1.5 they do not. I checked my shadows config and I had this problem with both Ultra and High shadows. I have also enabled flat terrain shadows. Note in this picture with two Mi-8's the one on the right casts a shadow, which is a static object, but the one on the left does not, which is the player's aircraft: http://forums.eagle.ru/attachment.php?attachmentid=122500&d=1443847413 So far I have been able to reproduce this with all aircraft I own, which is all but two modules at this point.
  20. I recently got a new TM Warthog so I was changing many configs at once. On two occasions I would click OK to save and I would get a black screen. Eventually I would have to kill the task and I noted only some of the configs I made would have been saved. One thing to note (but not proven) was that I think it was crashing when I was reconfiguring the Mig29/S/G controls. Not sure if that was a contributing factor. I was only able to reproduce it twice and it was not easy to do.
  21. I just purchased a brand new one and right out of the box the "autopilot engage" button is stuck in the "on" position. So disappointed. :(
  22. I would love this for anti-shipping missions.
  23. I just recently got this module and I have searched the forums a bit to see if anyone else asked this but: How do I get into the back seat?
  24. Thanks Bounder I'll check you folks out. I'm in the EST timezone so hopefully that won't be a problem. :) In regards to the radiator I tried all kinds of altitude, speed, and initial heat conditions but it seemed to me no matter what it would always fully close the radiator. I will retest later today to confirm it can be reproduced. One thing to note is that the mission was an air-start and the airplane does not start configured for flying so that might contribute. Regarding roll I thought I was keeping it to 250+ km/h but if I brought the nose up at all the slats would jump out and the aircraft would become very unstable. This is likely growing pains as I learn the aircraft but it would be much more fun to fly with human pilots. ;)
  25. I have had this module for a while now but have not had any serious stick time so I thought I would give it a go this weekend. Wow....this is a handful! First question: I set the radiator to automatic but it never seems to open the radiator even when the engine is overheating. I am forced to pop it out of automatic is set it to "open" to aviod the engine seizing. Can someone give me some advice on how to operate the radiator? Trying the dogfight quick mission and had a hell of a time. The aircraft always wants to snaproll to the left no matter how much rudder/aileron I give it. Trying to follow the P-51 into the climb is always ending in a snaproll. What I could really use is some one-on-one time with someone who has mastered the plane. I love the Bf109 but I will be damed if I know how to fly it. ;)
