I agree that this fresnel lens is much better then the 3d glasses but I guess there should be a major drawback on the fresnel side, the cost:) The 3d glasses and the software is free and you dont need any other headgear...

I dont know if someone tried this before but I just discovered that BS can be played in 3D with 3d goggles... Recently, a tv channel in my country aired a 3d episode of Chuck (a popular comic tv show, not my favorite but I sometimes watch when I have nothing else to do). This channel bundled a free 3d glass for the show with a weekly magazine. I bought the glasses and tried it on Black Shark. It works... What you need? First, you need a pair of 3d glasses. Those with different colored pieces, one side yellow, the other side blue for instance. Second, you need a software to make BS play in two different colors on your screen. Luckily, there is such a piece of software on the net for free, called iZ3D. I guess it is a software specifically made for its own 3d hardware system. But anyhow, the program is good for our purposes. It is only 6,5 mb's and you can download the program from http://iz3d.com/download/files/iZ3DDriverSetup.1.09.exe Depending on the colors of your glasses, you can select blue/yellow or red/magenta on the program. You have to select "Enable Stereo", "Anaglyp" and the color of your glasses on the menu. Then, it is all done. The program has hot keys for fine tuning (convergence, depth, on-off etc) during the game. I just tried it for few minutes with TrackIR. Pros: * It really puts immersion one step ahead with TrackIR. The cockpit was nearly popping out of the screen:) * It is easy to use, easy to adjust and free. * I have tried it on a 17" CRT monitor, and it really worked well. I believe that it would be much better on a decent, big LCD with enough viewing distance. Cons: * I dont think that it is good for eyes. If you cannot fine tune the depth, seperation and convergence, be ready for some eye-ache (an ache like when you cross your eyes). * HUD is not well-read in 3d mode. Maybe it is because of my monitor. * If you are using multi monitors, the Shkval screen is also kinda distorted on the second monitor. * Your monitor's brightness should be really high (or you have to dim the lights), because the glasses block the ligth too much. I dimmed the lights in my room but this time, I was not able to find the keys on the keyboard:) I dont know whether BS can be played for long hours on 3d mode but I guess it worhts a try.... Regards...

Dude, why do you want to fly the arcade mode when you are already capable of flying in the sim mode? Forget about the arcade mode, that is for grandmoms and console lovers:)

I just made these pics... I know it is not as good as a well-made color copy with metal binders... But for 6 eur, I guess this is more then enough for me... It is a manual afterall...

I just made BW copy with a binder and it costed me 6 EURs in total...

If you are ok with falcon graphics, then this sim can satisfy you but compared to lockon or blackshark, seven-g has alot of way to go. But the flight model seems to be promising...

I just gave it a try... The cockpit seems promising but the land textures are more like falcon standart...

What is passive radar mode? Isnt the radar on?

I downloaded but have not tried it yet but a 72mb for such an ambitious sim seems to be a little suspicious to me...

The current graphics engine is not suitable (or goodlooking) for low level flying. Instead of a new helo sim, a-10 would be better with the current engine. Maybe in the mean time, ED will release the apache with a better engine featuring more detailed land structure..

I dont think that there is a flyable and video-makable version of a-10 yet... But there should be producer's notes, at least for creating the necessasry publicity for the sim I guess...

The graphics are amazing, it would be a wonderful experience to play Black Shark or Lock On with these graphics.... But HAWKS is nothing more then an arcade game and not even close to becoming any kind of simulation...

Look at that deck, how old is that carrier? The deck is like a junkyard:) (No offence) Foreign object damage should not be a rare event on this carrier...

What is the point of these sims anyway::) Think about driving from say rome to vienna for a tranport mission... You are expecting to earn some amount of money in order to upgrade your truck or buy a better one. You have to actually drive the truck in real time. I suppose it will take hours of actual driving in real time which would be very boring and tiring after a few 10 minutes... There is no auto pilot in trucks afterall...

If we were able to see the cockpit gauges, hud etc, this video would have been great...

I guess the biggest drawbacks of this sim are the ATC related issue and the graphics. Other than that, this is great game for me. No need to say too much about the graphics, they are outdated, period. But the ATC needs a lot of improvement, like the one in FSX...

Any country around Turkey can easily be regarded as an enemy in a conflict scenario. Considering the geological and political position of Turkey, any conflict possibility (including US, russia, iran, israel, etc.) can be real at any time in the history... So dont limit your imagination:)

Dubai is not a big place my friend. Too much complaining about the Russian ministry of defense might not be a good strategy. KGB should be on its way to Dubai now:)

Maybe ABRIS is not only using Russian Glonass satellites but also US satellites via garmin:)
