Try the Virpil airfield equipment mod. I use the VPC NATO light tower #3. It's a taller portable light tower, set its alert condition to red and the lights come on dusk to dawn. https://virpil.com/en/news/58-vpc-airfield-equipment-dlya-dcs-world

Thank you.

Has anyone else run into this? I can host a server and another person can join and get in the pilot seat of any unoccupied aircraft but cannot multicrew the UH-1 or T45. Both of us own the Uh-1 and have the same version of the T45 installed, are on the same MT version of DCS. Never mind I figured it out. I have the super carrier and they don't and was trying to take off from the GW.

DCS Super Hercules mod by Anubis
Pnguin9999 replied to Eight Ball's topic in Flyable/Drivable Mods for DCS World
I have not tried something that big but have added smaller mod vehicles this way. If you are using CTLD you can add it to the Hercules_Cargo_CTLD.lua. In the section that begins at line 47, Hercules_Cargo.types. Go to the end of the section at line 108, place your cursor at the end of the last entry, should be generic crate, press enter to start a new line and type in or paste the following ["MBT M1A2 Abrams [34720lb]" = {['name'] = "M1A2 Abrams", [container'] = false} Warning, before you alter any code in any lua, make a clean backup of the lua file and save it on your desktop or somewhere you can find it. Mine are all saved in a file named Vanilla lua. Also visually the Abrams will stick out the side and top of the Hercules. This is also not air droppable, you need to land and unload it using CTLD commands in the F10 other CTLD menu. -
Female pilots/copilots/air crew needed.
Pnguin9999 replied to Pnguin9999's topic in DCS Core Wish List
Nice! -
What we need are a few good women AI air crew, ground crew and soldiers. I don't know about anyone else, but I'm getting tired of looking at Joker's ugly mug. Not to mention Silent Bob, my Huey copilot. All kidding aside, females make up a fair portion of the combat and support arms positions now and endure the same mission grind as males. Genuine heroes like Col. Kim Campbell, Major General Jeannie Marie Leavitt and more are out there and I would be honored to fly virtually with any of them. With the reworking of the AI models for Vulkan, maybe this would be a good time to include female characters.

Sorry it took so long to respond, I haven't been on the forum for a while. I think I was reading an older setup guide that advised if you were having issues using the Zeus commands on the Blue side to set it to true. As it turns out, I wasn't typing the commands into the markers correctly.

ADMIRAL189'S CORNER - INCOMING SHIP MODELS
Pnguin9999 replied to Admiral189's topic in Static/AI Mods for DCS World
Beautiful work Admiral. I have a wish list request, I don't know if it is possible but would you make a mod of the U.S.S Constitution? As far as I know, she is the oldest commissioned naval warship still afloat. -
DML - Mission Creation Toolbox [no Lua required]
Pnguin9999 replied to cfrag's topic in Scripting Tips, Tricks & Issues
I just came across DML. What a fantastic set of tools, just what I have been looking for. As for your accent and skills, your command of the English language, both spoken and written, is exponentially greater than most of my fellow Americans. Please keep up the great work. -
Marianas single player mission. I am unable to find the debug setting for "allow_blue_zeus_units = true" , it doesn't appear in the F10 debug menu or the settings.lua. Can you point me to it, please?

How can I turn off the beacon in the Syria map.
Pnguin9999 replied to Pnguin9999's topic in Bugs and Problems
I ended up changing the frequency, even though there were no beacons nearby on 116.000. -
2.9 has issues yes, but it is early days yet. Just wanted to thank ED for the night vision monocular in the UH-1H. I can finally see my flight instruments and have night vision. No more flipping the NVGs on and off. Fantastic!

I have had good results with the Pico 4 by doing away with Steam VR, and open XR. My workflow is this; Virtual Desktop (VD) streamer starts with Windows, start Pico 4, start VD from Pico 4 library, now I can see my screen in Pico. Start Joystick Gremlin, The Way, Voice attack and SRS. On Windows toolbar click the up arrow to show hidden icons, right click the VD icon, click start game, browse to the DCS open beta bin MT folder, open it and click on the .exe. I gained 10-15 fps, eliminated the stuttering caused by Steam VR and go into the hanger right in front of the menu. Steam VR and open XR are not needed this way and you free up a lot of resources, both CPU and GPU. Also a good addition for MT is to run Process Lasso. It allows you top set processor core affinity and priority for DCS or any other program. I run DCS as high priority, in performance mode and assign only physical cores to it. For a full explanation watch Panjo's YouTube video. I get a smooth DCS experience at 30-50 fps (depending on scenery) with most settings on high or ultra and a mid range system. That's with the Pico 4 set to Ultra graphics. Also wire your Pico directly to your router with Cat8 cable to an Ethernet to USB adapter with charging capability. You can plug a wall wart into the adapter and run the USB cable from the adapter into the Pico without running any connection apps. Just choose Ethernet connection in Pico settings. Lowers latency and you can play for hours.

How can I turn off the beacon in the Syria map.
Pnguin9999 replied to Pnguin9999's topic in Bugs and Problems
I'll give it a try, thanks. -
I don't know if anyone else is having this issue, but its driving me bananas. When flying the UH-1H in the Syria map I get a beacon that I can't turn off. Easy comms off, all radios off, marker beacon volume off. Nothing seems to stop it. Its probably something simple I'm missing. Please help.

We Want To Hear Your Ideas For A New Map In DCS!
Pnguin9999 replied to danielzambaux's topic in DLC Map Wish List
1. Korea including Okinawa/partial Sea of Japan. 2. Afghanistan. No it's not all desert, the mountain areas are great for helos and CAS, and you could set up a Cold War red vs blue campaign for the zoomies. Complete with CIA officers and pony trains loaded down with Stingers and bags of cash. LOL. -
All true, even third party weather scripts like Pure and Sol only have to handle the weather around the race track and are FPS hogs. I have to give Peter Boese his due though, in that area the physics effects on track surface conditions are incredibly detailed. I wonder if ED could use something like Briefing Room does to limit the render area?

I agree, the A-10 is survivable and sexier, it and the UH-1H are my main DCS aircraft. However it's a pure ground attack aircraft, at the speeds that COIN aircraft work at (under 120 KIAS), the A-10 is below stall speed. I am talking about the MB-339, L-39, and C-101 being obsolete. Take a good look at the specs for the U model AT-802, it's almost as heavily armored as an A-10, as maneuverable as... a crop duster, 360 degree (below the aircraft centerline) sensor coverage and targeting systems (imagine your TPOD and IR never being masked), satellite data link, advanced high power secure comms. It could also be broken down into three crates with CTLD and transported in a C-130 to operate from FARPS to designate for attack helos as well as CAS and strike packages. Massive loiter time and double the speed of a Kiowa or Apache. Bonus, it can fly under high tension power lines and lower than a Strela can lock on. As for AA, just use attack helo tactics. Terrain mask, use datalink to plug in the locations of the ZSU, make a mark point, pop up, rifle, duck back down. As long as they are not on a wide open flat plain, you're good. If they are, call in a DEAD flight and hand over the targeting data. This plane would be a game changer in multiplayer recon. The only issue I can see is modeling the electronic systems. Probably have to go a few generations back since I am sure they are classified.

U.S. Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) has selected the AT-802U Sky Warden system from L3Harris Technologies and Air Tractor Inc. for its Armed Overwatch program. The Indefinite Quantity, Indefinite Delivery contract award includes a cost ceiling of $3 billion. The program includes delivery of up to 75 manned fixed-wing aircraft, with an initial program award of $170 million. Air Tractor reported that the future AT-802U Sky Warden fleet will provide close air support, precision strike, armed intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance (ISR), strike coordination and meet advanced air control requirements for use in austere and permissive environments. The aircraft will be used in irregular warfare operations. The above statement is from an official press release. ED needs this as an official mod to fill a gap in the lineup. Current COIN aircraft in DCS are badly outdated and not very survivable. This aircraft even though it started life as a crop duster, is heavily armored, relatively fast (for a turbo prop), carries a large payload. It is also very agile, has the latest sensors and datalink, can carry the same weapons as an A-10C II (yes, even LJDAMS, minus the GAU) and has two seats for multicrew. Second on my wish list after the Osprey for Spec Ops work. null

Very nice, I am guessing that since maps are always works in progress, new sites will appear as they get to them. Unless I am more navigationally challenged than I thought, the Temple Mount is currently a warehouse with a small Mosque in the parking lot. Dome of the Rock 31.778000 N, 35.235401 E. BTW, your A-10A tutorials made it my favorite DCS jet, iron bombs and BRTTTT in close, fast (relatively) and low.

Just keep trying, after three 502 errors, I finally am downloading the Open beta update. Hopefully I can download the Sinai map after I update.

Enigma's Dynamic Cold War Campaign PVP/PVE Server
Pnguin9999 replied to Enigma89's topic in Multiplayer
Hello, fantastic server, I appreciate the massive amount of work you all have put in. I especially liked the training campaign, I hesitated to join before, but now, hopefully I can avoid most of the stupid new multi-player pilot mistakes. I mainly fly the A-10A (no NVG) but with the time difference between both the Persian Gulf and Caucasus it is always night on the servers when I get home. Are there any Bluefor Cold War ground attack aircraft on the server with NVGs? -
Does this work with the A-10A? If so, how in the world do you turn it on?
