I would also like to add my two cents. Interesting article, because it's revealing how differently people perceive things. On the main topic: I personally think the F-18 is well made and with its versatility and ability to land on a carrier, I think it is far from boring. I didn't like the F-16 in the first place. However, I really wanted to use the CBU 97 and so I learned the F-16 somewhat reluctantly. And lo and behold, with increasing practice I really liked the Viper. Nevertheless, I still love the AV8B Harrier II the most. It's relatively slow and has no active radar, but hey, I like the thing. We should never make the mistake of lumping all the real machines together. Each variant has its time and history. Shaped by political circumstances and given budgets. Under the right circumstances, every machine is a lot of fun.

As the title says. Herds of sheep and horses etc. would be something new in DCS. Think about it.

+1 Using also a HP G2 and it is really unnatural.

I would like to have a query field where I as the mission creator could set the parameters for a conditional random generator. For example: Clock times: Only from 08:00 to 17:00 Seasons: All Wind: Only calm to light Wind direction: Any Rain possible : yes And each time the mission starts, the conditions would be randomly generated only within these parameters.

Hello. I have been flying the map again for a long time and had hoped to find more towns and villages inland in Argentina. At the moment it looks a bit like the Cretaceous period. The airfields look great and the regions themselves are great, but there is a lack of life. Especially for the inland. I really hope that this will change. Is there a progress map? I found one on the Internet, but it's 2 years old. It would also be nice if there were flocks of sheep and wild horses in larger numbers on ranches. That would be something. Please don't see this as complaining, but as a polite request. I would like to use the map more often. Thanks.

Playing in VR is not stupid. It is a gift. I congratulate you for accepting it. The only way to get closer to flying a Huey is to actually fly one. And that costs a lot of money or is even impossible. I'm 48 now, but I hope DCS and VR keep evolving to be even better. I'm already looking forward to flying low in VR with a FOV of 210°. The rush will be amazing.

Yes, Silver_Dragon is my first port of call in this forum. For years. Nice that you do all this. Thank you. Stay as you are, that would make me / us happy.

Strange. Why lower a visor if it has no effect? It would be great if that was added soon.

Pilot body, is that coming any time soon and...
Crash * replied to Nptune's topic in DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark 3
In the meantime, the Mi24 has received its pilot. It's great. I hope that ED will put it into the KA-50 III (1 to 1 if you like) before Christmas. Then F16, then A-10CII and the CH-47 right from the start.....oh I'm dreaming again....but ED also makes dreams come true...so why not. -
Good news for me, beside the part with the Helicopter, but this is probably due to the program mechanics.

A whole globe for DCS. Sounds good at first, but there are so many things to consider. Will it be a Googlemap-like globe divided into areas? Where each manufacturer can then break down their area in detail like today's maps? Like a round scrapbook? How will it be with the time zones? It wouldn't be nice if someone crossed the border in their WWII plane and suddenly landed 70 years in the future because the airfield was in a different zone. Will the mission editor still work? It is a powerful part of DCS. I wouldn't appreciate it if it was removed in favor of a wallpaper map. How does it look for the helicopters. They don't fly at 15,000 feet. A pixel mash wouldn't be a solution either. But ED are not beginners either and love their product, so I am quite confident that they will find and implement a workable solution. Although I don't really think that will happen in the next few months/years. It's just a feeling. In general, I think the idea of a whole world is very good.

Ja. Wenn du mit der KI (ATC, Wingman etc.) sprechen willst musst du das entsprechend belegen. Für das funken mit menschlichen Spielern musst du andere Tasten verwenden (PTT).

I think that the answers from 2 years ago are still correct. It is possible that the level of detail of the route flown in MSFS is higher and therefore there is a better feeling of speed. I hope that the standard FOV of most VR goggles will eventually be 180 degrees or more as technology advances. Then the feeling of speed will be more in line with the real feeling than it is at the moment. Increasing ground detail and smoother movement will do the trick. Then we will only complain about the lack of G-forces in our own bodies. Let's see what it looks like in 2030.

The Mi-24 is no longer a drone. There is a human body for VR. And it's super cool! I'm really happy about that.

Thank you for your efforts. This is very informative. I can confirm the part about the phases of the moon. It is crucial how high the moon is in the sky. In one mission, I let the moon rise straight up and the enemies ignored me. Later, I moved the time forward and was shot at directly. The reason was that the moon was now high in the sky.

I didn't really have the A-7 on my radar. But yesterday I saw news about the A-7 through HIP by Andrei Celeste. It already looked pretty good and I'm hooked. Now add some decent sound and a VR pilot body and I'm in. Until then, I wish you every success.

No, still broken unfortunately. As far as I know, RAZBAM says that ED is responsible for the radio communication of the LHA. In any case, the radio has not been working for years. I would like to ask politely at this point whether I have understood correctly that the ball is on ED's side and whether they are working on it. It's just a bit frustrating when you follow all the procedures and master the relatively difficult landing and then only get a "No proper communication...".

Death message in multiplayer. Quiet and dark.
Crash * replied to Crash *'s topic in DCS Core Wish List
You are so right. I'm now giving up coffee and donating to animal welfare organizations. When I pass away now, there is a warm light and gentle sounds and lots of puppies leading me to a higher entity. But I prefer the tip with the F10 map, because I can't really do without coffee. -
When I die in a multiplayer session, it puts me in the outside view of a fellow player or AI. It feels like I'm right behind a screeching turbine or on the roaring rotor head. I then have to wait a few very long seconds in this noisy hell until I can jump back into a machine. In that time, I can't hear what the others are saying. And I'm disoriented and stressed. A dark screen with reduced sound would be nice. Then a single message about why I died. (optional). At least until me and my PC are ready to join in again.

I can only agree with that. It's great that you keep modernizing and upgrading the Gazelle. There are: The NVG for the L version The complete restructuring of the VR body (I love how Co-Pilot holds on when things get rough). The merging of the Mistral and the L. New Gunpods and new missile types The new FM (yeah) and of course more. Great that you guys are sticking with it. Multiplayer was always a bit buggy before, but it seems to work better now. I still hope for a better rotor animation. But that's probably coming too. One mini-issue is still, if in the main menu is checked: Show VR body, then you have to press Shift P every time you restart DCS.

Sehr gerne. Ihr macht ja auch immer mehr als ihr müsst. Das ist super. Die F-4 war ein echter "Nobrainer" für mich.

I have to agree with you there. I already had gray hair because I thought I was doing something wrong in the last Mission. Okay, I had some before, but now there are more. 8 months is really a long time. Anyway, for something like this. Now it is also 10 months. Thank you Flappie for your tireless efforts.

Huey or Gazelle for learning to fly a helicopter?
Crash * replied to The_Chugster's topic in DCS 2.9
You are British. Take the gazelle. It's really great by now. While you're at it, check out an old 6-part documentary "Flying Soldiers." It's about aspiring helicopter pilots who are supposed to fly the Gazelle as a reconnaissance aircraft. Well done. But honestly, all helicopters (as of today) are very well implemented. But the Gazelle can shoot guided missiles and should work great as a multicrew with the current update. Everything fits perfectly with the Apache, which can really overwhelm you at the beginning. Just my opinion. We always like to use the Gazelle as a scout in our Apache squadron. -
Voice chat issues with transmit and receive audio
Crash * replied to RogueRunner's topic in Voice Chat
Wir had some tests in our group. Unfortunately, we had these completely random failures as well. All in the AH-64. The same frequencies. Some of them heard me. Some didn't. Then on another frequency, 2 out of 4 heard me. On the third again none. One we have heard only completely consumed. No pattern recognizable. SRS isn't retiring on us after all. We're sticking with it for now. We hope for a quick fix from ED, otherwise the voice chat might not get a chance. And that would be a real shame, because IF it works, THEN it's great.
