They are not related IMO. TV on the f-22 and other Russian A/C are usefull in a rate of turn, high AoA fight, where as "The Cobra" maneuver would most likey have limited usefulness in a accual fight. More like debating which is cooler inverted flat spins, a barrel rolling helo or a cobra maneuver.

This may not be the most popular opinion and I want all the high fidelity aircraft i can get, but until multi crew is worked out I'm ok with waiting for the -15E

I own FC3 and have never tried the A-10A because of the C model, I also haven't updated to the hot fix. I figured il fly the SFM around for a bit before I update it, for optimum satisfaction. Thanks a heap ED!

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
smnwrx replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
The airbase where I work has c-17s and they can be seen practicing combat patterns, landings and drops. Sometimes I think that just because the c-17 has a stick instead of a yoke they like to pretend its a fighter Haha. Not sure of the validity of this story but I heard when we proposed the c-17 to the Canadians we told them it was good to go for unpaved runways... While it is possible to operate in those conditions the repeated beating from gravel and rocks can tear up the composite doors. I work in the structure shop and we have a great advanced composite facility and being the good neibors that we are, we let the Canadians use are facilities to repaire their doors that look like Swiss cheese. -
On the subject of non-positive commentary. We have been over this, over and over it.

Question for the guys that are around these for real. Is that data cable from the picture above the only cable that is required for HMCS? Edit : now that I look at it I'm guessing that is for the comms since it appears to go into the mask. I'd imagine the actual data cable to be a bit beefier

i belive the navy plans to continue to fly super hornets as well. so they are only adding to their capabilities IMO
-
Haha if I had my way we would have all the planes now. ;). I guess the positives I see with waiting are updated technologies, hardware and dev techniques. And of coarse, the people that make it all happen would know where their next meal is coming from
-
How likely is it that ED would save that one for some job security down the line?
-
My biggest concern isnt with the plane they chose, its more with goal that is set. it seemed a little out of touch. I hate to keep bringing up the mig but its all I have to go by, if I remember right it was the first announced 3rd party A/C, looks to be the first DCS quality fast jet and its being developed by a veteran of the community. With all that goin for it, that campaign was successful at a much smaller total (i can't remember the exact total).i believe KI have already surpassed that witch IMO is due to the Interest in the f-35. It really drove home for me how niche market this is. I hope that the numbers arn't discouraging and they can find a way to fund and profit from DCS

Does anyone make better youtube vids then the USN?

Skid marks floating off carrier and other strangeness
smnwrx replied to bluepilot76's topic in Object Errors
Yea, unfortunately the carrier as it is now is mostly for show and AI A/C. (not sure about the Russian carrier, never tried it). With the announcement of the charlie hornet it's inevitable that carrier ops will get a serious facelift. -
That seems pretty absolute for a plane that is still in testing and hasn't yet reached it's full patential. It looks like it does "situational awareness" better just about anything out here so far
-
I hate to say it but this it most likely the case IMHO. I thought the mig was a pretty big deal being the first fast jet an all, it was no where near this lofty. It kinda made me realize the guys that do this are most likely not rolling in piles of cash for all the hard work they put in. My fear is that KI will realize the market is not what they thought and go a different way. I am just speculating and hope I am way off the mark. If i am wrong and they make thier goal i will have no problem eating crow, I want this as bad as anyone else.

Not trying to be cheaky, just would like to know what the conventional options are?

Found in comments of the kickstarter Creator David Kinney about 2 hours ago We will be using the DCS engine to build and integrate the F-35. Although you can fly the F-35 as a standalone simulation (campaign & training missions) it will be fully integrated into DCS World, which may be downloaded for free.
-
Man this goal seems lofty for only two weeks. I guess if it even comes close, it will show how much this community has grown since the mig contributions. I'm in. Good luck

Just noticed that they don't land that Charlie -35 the same way the navy lands the hornet on land based runways. Nice soft touch on the mains and aero braking.

Plans change and that's ok. It's nothing personal. Of coarse when things that I am into are announced I'm excited and if those don't come to fruition I'm disappointed. I think it will help to not get so involved that you feel duped. I like reading about what's planned but if for whatever reason those plans change its not like I lost anything. (Unless I was building a pit or something) haha

Hasn't sank to the level of a youtube video comment section just yet haha

IDK about that, that's a harsh judgement IMO, WBC are scum. f16.net are mostly current and ex US service men, mech, pilots ect. They are obviously a little bias to US air power and are always skeptical to any claims of abc vs (input US fighter here) especially the F-22/35.
