  1. OT. is it just me or does it seem like smoke pods are used a lot more on military aircraft by Russians and Europeans at airshows? Other then the Blue Angels and Tbirds, I haven't noticed it used on our front line fighter solo displays here in the states. Different tastes i guess. The don't seem to mind poppin off a few flares across the pond as well which is pretty cool.
  2. http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=125117 Still the latest in the official updates
  3. Another close call!!
  4. Looking forward to practice refueling the f-15 in flight
  5. I check this site everyday. DCS is my favorite sim. I want to see it grow and support every product I can afford. When I log on and see a delay of coarse I'm disapointed. When I hear project are possibly canceled I am really disapointed. Still, I find that as soon as I move on to the next web site or turn off the computer my disappointment fades and life goes on. Always supporting the next DCS product whenever it comes out.
  6. With any kind of combat load at altitudes between 15-30,000ft I never see 300IAS I lvl flight. Keep in Mind this is different then the planes ground speed.
  7. Idk, I think if a video shows off slow speed edge of the envelope menuvers, the airplanes behavior and lack of scripted stalls will really stand out
  8. +1 There was a (American) Top Gear episode where an army gunship tracks down one of the guys driving through the forest in a G wagon. For training puposes:thumbup:. I am impressed to see the city-scape stretch to the horizon. Cant wait.

    Sales??

They sure do. I am not sure if they are on a yearly schedule but I am pretty sure there was on last month. Keep an eye on the official updates section
  10. Thanks for the heads up
  11. I must of missed the part in the article where the B-1 turned around and went guns hot on the freighter! Haha fun video.
  12. Well said! I do not know the history of these developers. So I do not have an opinion of what happend in the past. I want DCS to grow and attract the best of the best. I did not contribute more then I was ready to lose. It would be a small price to pay to possibly see this brand expand into something great
  13. Oh ouch! My buddy rolled off a taxiway while BSing with a student pilot on a night flight in a C172. Nose gear collapsed instantly. Prop strike! He still has one of the blades.
  14. Ha! You know you have been working the Flightline to long when you look at a screen shot of a sim and notice possible DSVs before anything else.
  15. Mother of pearl. Dat lopac! Dat jammer! Dat tool accountability number on the toolbox.
  16. It's was added to the very top of the 8-30 weekly update. Its going to be a bi-bi-weekly update aka monthly update via emailed newsletter, so update ur email and make sure ED isn't on ur spam list.
  17. I figured the image was just demonstrating the Aussie addition.
  18. Hopefully the A2A C172 as well. http://a2asimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=23&t=35521
  19. i remember that, they could have very well been talking about the external model which is now in game
  20. I do that too. Still, its cool just to see where you end up
  21. Let me say I'm no dogfighting guru. Especially with the Merlin. I tend to set MP at climb power 46" or so. As my airspeed slows, say climbing in the vertical I will add in more rpm. I.e. downshifting a car when climbing a steep hill. No more then 29. On the downhill I will take out some angle to reduce drag and pick up speed. The AI likes to fight in the vertical make sure you have the air speed before You fallow him up or turn into his circle. I use 250 as a quick ref. Oh and a tough habit for me coming from falcon4 (a fighter with an awesome sustained turn rate) is to be easy with G. Always on the edge of blacking out or a snap roll of death
  22. I have only tried 1V1 with the Dora a few times but I have had the opposite experience, I had troubles with the mustang at first but eventually was able to at least gain a advantage in most engagements. I wanted to test the Dora so I loaded it up and managed to shoot it down twice. My arial gunnery is suspect at best but had no problem closing in pure pursuit by managing the RPMs and little changes in MP. Also sounds like you are having some engine management issues.
  23. I switch between dcs and fsx a lot, one thing that keeps me coming back is the ability to fly a combat aircraft "with fangs" around areas I recognize. Sometimes I park the bug on the deck of the Nimitz, set full steam ahead toward the middle of the Pacific and not come back to my computer for a few hours. Then launch off the deck in the middle of the night in the middle of nowhere knowing that I have nowhere else to land other then back on the deck of the carrier. Obviously FSX has a lot of work arounds and sometimes feels artificial while DCS is much more streamlined for combat but it would be hard to replicate something like that in DCS at present.
  24. I'm intersted to see how air refueling works out with the new AFM really.
