Since we are talking FSX aircraft and if you are interested in the charlie hornet and are not concerned about avionics or weapons you should check out the FSXVBA hornet here:http://www.fsdreamteam.com/forum/index.php/topic,6944.0.html. Like i said the avionics are still the same old FSX junk but from what i can tell the flight model is on par if not more realistic then the VRS bug. Along with VLSO it makes for great around the boat practice. It is free and is constantly being updated.

I gota say so far my favorite part of the new videos is the detail of the airbases. Datparkinglottho,Beautiful. Looking forward to some vids that include some effects; weapons, explosions and maybe a few ground units. Edit: a few screenshots of ground units in the Q&A

smnwrx replied to ANGST's topic in Heatblur Simulations
This may be the case but I wouldn't bank on this logic, after all LN is the same company that brought us the mig 21, a plane that probably was not high on many peoples "wish list". I understand that sales are important but I am just hoping that whatever theses planes are were chosen because they believe they can recreate them as realistically as possible like the -21. -
Well said! To me personally the most fun I get out of these WW2 aircraft is akin to visiting a museum. I get to learn and get hands on experiance to aircraft that I otherwise would have never had the opportunity to so.

Great interview. Very transparent and informative. looking forward to the future

Leatherneck Simulations Monthly Update - January 2015
smnwrx replied to Cobra847's topic in Heatblur Simulations
Very exciting news. I like the fact that talented companies such as LN are expanding into the theater/scenery design realm also. -
Looks great. Thanks ED I'm also hoping that the talented terrain designers of the world are tempted to bring their talents to this brand new engine.

IFR black out, rolling deck, civil airplanes (and 4K virtual reality)
smnwrx replied to strikor's topic in DCS Wishlist
I understand what you are saying here, I know when I fly FSX/P3d I think, man it would be great if this plane had the feel/complexity of a DCS aircraft, and when Im not flying combat in DCS I think, it would be great to fly this mustang through the Alps. I also understand that presently it is not possible to have it all on one platform. DCS is a combat simulator and should focus on improving the combat simulation aspect of aviation. One issue with IFR in DCS is that IFR in combat is not flown like it is in civilian planes. IE airways, charted approaches and departures. Many combat plane do not even have the equipment necessary to locate GPS fixes and and fly RNAV approaches. Preplanned routes and altitudes flown at with precise timing is what keeps traffic deconflicted, along with AWACS assistance. With all that said I agree that the controllers comms should be improved in due time. At a forward deployed location the SOP for departures may be a max performance climb to avoid shoulder launched missiles and small arms. I can almost garentee you won't find that on any Jepp chart here in the states :) -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List

I know this, I was merely pointing out the underlying meaning of the OPs question. ;) -
Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
smnwrx replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
This! basically, it is another way of asking "why not modern DCS level fighters?" -
Isn't that normally how it goes? Since a date was given this particular time I think people including myself assumed there was something significant about this day. I'm not at all complaining. Just my observation. I'm enjoying the 109 for now...and Dec just started, no reason to rush it out.
-
I agree that the cgi thin is a bit of a cheep shot. It's CGI or plastic models on sticks, IMO cgi is more "believable". All and all I'm excited about this.
-
Still a chance, this is from the 109 update earlier today. Of coarse this may just be unedited recycled info about DCS world. If I had to guess I'd say that the Dec. 3rd update should have some juicy info, normally they kinda just show up in my in box. Only the really good ones get ETAs

Su-27 Open-Beta chit-chat and first impressions!
smnwrx replied to JulienBlanc's topic in Su-27 for DCS World
I have been practicing deep stall recoveries all night. I seem to be having the best luck using idle, full aft stick and and rudder in the same direction I am spinning. It's not tried and true but it has helped for sure. It seems the su-27 it pretty unstable on the yaw axis, Dutch rolls everywhere. Since I have never flew one in RL I am not sure how realistic this is. Other then that I am loving this plane more and mor, never been a fan of anything that isn't western. Once I figure out how far I can push the FCS override gonna be good times for sure. Thanks ED -
Stole this from the guys over at F-16.net. Carrier suitability testing. The F 35 specific portion is only at the last two minutes of the video but since it just landed on the deck of the carrier I figure it fit here.

Thanx ED. Updates are much appreciated

My guess is the Vigi :)

I have decided to change my setup yet again. I am going from three of these monitors in landscape to a 40” TV with the other two on portrait, that means one’s going up for sale. I bought all three brand new from amazon about 7 months ago. Only ones for sale but they all work fine and never had any problems what so ever. (Most likely just box up the middle one). I am Asking 150 shipped OBO. Pm with any questions. http://www.amazon.com/VS278Q-P-Ultrafast-27-Inch-LED-Lit-Monitor/dp/B009HNEBLK/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1413071443&sr=8-3&keywords=asus+27%22

New flight model primaraly. If you already have flaming cliffs don't worry about it, it's free
-
Thanks LN and congrats on the release. It seems you guys are workin harder then ever helping people out also. Hope you all can find time to sit back and enjoy the fruits of the labor I'm a costomer for life
-
If I had to speculate. I would guess that new developments with the multi-cockpit played a role in the decision to resume development on this A/C. Again, just uniformed speculation.
-
This is a really sad situation IMO. I feel that ED made a great decision by opening DCS world to 3rd party developers. I am hoping together they can take this hobby to anouther level and wider audience. On one hand I can understand how It makes sence that if they have a mostly done platform to implement a innovative new feature "muti-pit" then it is cost effective to complete its development themselves. On the other hand I feel these 3rd party developers will play a big part in DCS worlds success and I worry about this souring future relationships. My two cents
-
Hope to see the "station wagon" hornet someday also. One good thing at a time of coarse
-
Agreed. As someone who has been waiting for any morsule of info since the hornet was announced I am beyond giddy to see this early WIP and all.
