Realsimulator F-18CGRH is available for preorder
RogueSqdn replied to Supmua's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
Glad you're happy with it... I find it to work very well. I've finally gotten my cockpit put together and functional... so I'm organizing the photos I took and getting ready to post a thread in the Home Cockpits forum. -

[NEED TRACK] Volume dial of COM2 changes AM-FM modulation
RogueSqdn replied to Animatek's topic in Bugs and Problems
Having the same issue. Only happens if volume control is set to an analog axis. -
I have to bump this after two years... I just started getting this problem after receiving the TekCreations UFC. The selected radio would keep alternating between AM and FM and not let me change frequencies. I've traced it happening to when the comm volume is controlled by a potentiometer. If I delete that setting, it goes back to normal. I'm using the latest OpenBeta.

PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
RogueSqdn replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
New VR Pointing Device You will have to go into DCS controls and tap each QWERTY key on your keyboard for each module you use. If nothing comes up, you’re good. It something does come up, you’ll ether need to delete the mapping or remap it. In addition to this, I use a tempo action in Joystick Gremlin so that each button can put out two different vJoy buttons, depending on how long you hold the button. The vJoy buttons are what I actually map in DCS. I also have it in JG that if I hold the middle button on both sides at the same time, another vJoy button is tapped three times, and I map THAT to the ejection seat. So you’re suggesting that I’d be future-proofing myself better by going with AMD even though the single core performance is slightly less? I still haven’t decided on whether to go SLI or not on the cards... I guess it depends on whether VR SLI will be possible. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I’m planning on getting a new computer from Falcon NW myself (my i7-3930K is 8 years old), but am waiting for Nvidia’s new cards (3080ti) this fall. I was planning on Intel again (10900K), but haven’t really done any research on AMD yet, so I could be persuaded either way on this one. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Realsimulator F-18CGRH is available for preorder
RogueSqdn replied to Supmua's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I've got one massive profile in JG that has all of my controllers in it. Right now I'm using about 115 vJoy buttons, and haven't had to add a second vJoy Device yet. The worst that happens if I switch grips or throttles is having to close JG and reopen it (in addition to unmounting a throttle or stick grip). As for the hats, correct, you couldn't bind them directly, you'd have to bind to the vJoy buttons that are activated when they're pressed. In this case, the comm switch would be an action condition in JG and not a modifier in DCS. -

Finally got the cockpit together but still waiting on monitor stand. Once I get my pictures sorted out I'll start a thread. That said, on comms, my thinking is to have the COMM1 and 2 PTT buttons act as modifiers in Joystick Gremlin (not in DCS, I still want them to activate comm menus). So that if a hat direction is pressed, it puts out a vJoy button to use normally as a HOTAS command. But if I press that same hat while the comm switch is held, it spits out F1-F4 (or 5-8 or 9-12). Doing this also allows for view control on the same hats, if I add a non-PTT button (pressing inward on comm switch) as a modifier in JG. Thoughts? -
Wow, I never realized this... it explains a lot, though. I've just confirmed this in the VPC joystick tester. As soon as the TDC is moved away from center, the button press disengages. I've just gone through a Windows reinstall and chose not to install SimAppPro this time because the throttle remembers my backlight setting. Can either of you check in the program and see if there's a way to correct this behavior? Unfortunately I don't see a way to do any Joystick Gremlin voodoo to fix this since the system is seeing the button disengage... this would probably have to be corrected in firmware. If it can't, it may very well be a hardware limitation.

TM MFD monitors from Cube Sim
RogueSqdn replied to MustangSally's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I added CubeSim to my FB this morning... those things may be next on my list for the cockpit. I just need to wait for my TV stand to get here from MonsterTech before making that decision. -
PointCTRL - Finger Mounted VR Controller
RogueSqdn replied to MilesD's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I think I was using two button presses for the ejection seat. Miles, I just got my new cockpit put together, and am working on organizing the pictures I took so I can get a thread or at least a few posts put together. I have a lot of control mapping to do... I've added my TM MFDs back to the setup with a 3d printed insert to help locating OSBs while in VR, and have also added the BuddyFox A-10C UFC and TekCreations F-16C ICP (and have the TekCreations F/A-18C UFC on the way). I've also now gotten the RealSimulator F/A-18C grip, and this thing is a beauty!- 3421 replies

Just got my mount yesterday, but I ordered a full cockpit. However, the base isn’t coming until this afternoon, so I don’t quite know if the necessary hardware is present. I have tomorrow off because it’s Opening Day, but also plan on spending most of the weekend assembling this rig. I’ll chime in here once I get it assembled (but may start my own thread for the cockpit). Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

As for the software... once you update the unit firmware and choose your backlighting level, you can uninstall it. I had to reinstall Windows this weekend and didn’t bother reinstalling SimAppPro. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I have the TekCreatIons F-16 ICP, and have the Hornet UFC and HUD panels on order. I don’t plan on getting any side panels... for that I’ll use PointCTRL. I tend not to want to put too much stuff on the HOTAS that complicates things, but good idea with the memory slots and comms. I’ll have to give that some thought. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Haven't programmed anything yet, but first thoughts on the undesignate button: Push: Undesignate Up: Paddle Down: VR Center Left: VR Spyglass Right: VR Zoom I chose the pinky for that because I can still operate the trigger and the pickle at the same time. Anyone else have thoughts on that matter? -

Just got off the phone with DHL after waiting 32 minutes. The stick grip is coming today. The first cockpit shipment is still in Cincinnati because the plane was overloaded. They will contact me back within 2 hours to let me know if it’s still coming today (I doubt it). The second cockpit shipment has already arrived in Cincinnati and has been cleared by customs, and is scheduled for Thursday. If they were to actually try and deliver the first shipment today (far fetched, I know) they should do the second one too. If not, at this point, I’d almost expect them to deliver both at the same time. Head scratcher. [emoji848] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

My F16SGRH fits on the Virpil 200mm extension... I don’t see why this would be any different. [emoji2369] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

[emoji2369] RS grip left at 7:20 but MT cockpit still in Ohio if tracking is at all accurate. It wouldn’t make sense for them not to be on the same plane. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

I’m starting to get a little nervous. I took today off from work because I also have a package from Monstertech coming via DHL today, and the last tracking update was at 10 last night, saying clearance processing complete in Cincinnati. I’m in North Carolina. How the heck can this get delivered today if it’s still in Ohio? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Mine has been in Cincinnati since Saturday. The last thing it said was Customs Status Updated at 9:39 am. Wonder if I should be looking out for the truck today. It still says delivery tomorrow. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -

Right now I’m using the small baseplate from Virpil and have it mounted to the floor of my cockpit. Later this week it’ll be mounted to a Monstertech cockpit. Extension is the Virpil 200mm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
