I’ve never done that before... wouldn’t know the first thing about it! [emoji4] What do people use to capture that video? I can’t just have someone record me with their phone. I WOULD be glad to post my DCS and card settings and FPS. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

The future is here now, and it's called PointCTRL. ;)

Just got a message from FalconNW and called them back... they have the 3090 FE in stock and were offering to me in place of the EVGA XC3 Gaming. Since the FE is what I wanted to begin with, I took it. The system is already built pending a video card, but now due to the larger size of the FE, will require some slight reconfiguration. It may end up shipping late this week, or possibly Monday. I’m told they have 20 of them in stock, but will only sell individual cards if you’re already a customer. If you’re looking for a new system, they may be the ticket for you. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Talked to Falcon Northwest today... apparently I’ll be in the second batch of 3090s and my system will ship around the 13th. I’m inclined to just wait until then to get Squadrons going. Bonus: they may have patched HOTAS issues I’ve read about by then. Until then, I’m getting close to winning a Syria campaign in Liberation. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Sounds good, but as said before, would require support being written in by ED. Not sure that’ll happen anytime soon. I’d rather them focus on Vulkan and the dynamic campaign. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

For the lua bit, insert this at the beginning of Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Input\joystick\default.lua. --------------------------------------------- -- Mods ------------------------------------- --------------------------------------------- {down = fuel_commands.DumpSw, up = fuel_commands.DumpSw, cockpit_device_id = devices.FUEL_INTERFACE, value_down = 1.0, value_up = -1.0, name = _('Fuel Dump Switch 2-Pos ON/OFF'), category = {_('Left Console'), _('Fuel Control Panel'), _('Mods')}}, {down = fuel_commands.DumpSw, cockpit_device_id = devices.FUEL_INTERFACE, value_down = 1.0, name = _('Fuel Dump Switch ON'), category = {_('Left Console'), _('Fuel Control Panel'), _('Mods')}}, {down = fuel_commands.DumpSw, cockpit_device_id = devices.FUEL_INTERFACE, value_down = -1.0, name = _('Fuel Dump Switch OFF'), category = {_('Left Console'), _('Fuel Control Panel'), _('Mods')}}, {down = elec_commands.PitotHeater, cockpit_device_id = devices.ELEC_INTERFACE, value_down = 1.0, name = _('Pitot Heater Switch - ON'), category = {_('Right Console'), _('ECS Panel'), _('Mods')}}, {down = elec_commands.PitotHeater, cockpit_device_id = devices.ELEC_INTERFACE, value_down = -1.0, name = _('Pitot Heater Switch - AUTO'), category = {_('Right Console'), _('ECS Panel'), _('Mods')}}, {down = engines_commands.APU_ControlSw, cockpit_device_id = devices.ENGINES_INTERFACE, value_down = 1.0, name = _('APU Control Switch - ON'), category = {_('Left Console')}}, {down = engines_commands.APU_ControlSw, cockpit_device_id = devices.ENGINES_INTERFACE, value_down = -1.0, name = _('APU Control Switch - OFF'), category = {_('Left Console')}}, For the JG bit, you'll have to create a macro that executes a button press and release when Fuel Dump is moved to ON, and map that vJoy button inside of DCS.

Yeah, and the only way I’d consider 1200 was if I was trying to run SLI, but there’s no sense in doing that right now, if ever. That, and the 1200w is big enough that it blocks the 3.5” drive bays and restricts you to NVME and SSDs only. I wanted one hard drive for backups. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Power supply options when ordering a new system from Falcon Northwest were 550, 750, 1000, and 1200w. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

850 wasn’t an option, it went from 750 to 1000. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I’ll get my 3090 with my new system either late next week or early the following week. I’ll be using it with the Rift S, but got an email from HP stating the G2 will ship in November for anyone who ordered prior to 9/24. I ordered on 8/6. [emoji106] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

Realsimulator F-16 Throttle Been looking forward to that one, and I know from experience that their gear is top-notch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

After looking at that, my initial question is how long of a throttle arm are you actually talking about making? If you’re planning on putting the panels underneath it’ll have to be a lot longer than the Cougar. If you’re going for realism it’ll have to be too long for anyone without a full cockpit (and likely too long for those in between (like myself with a Monstertech cockpit). I think the happy medium should be to make one around the middle, having a throttle arm long enough for switch panels underneath but no so long it inhibits desktop and cockpit usage. Perhaps something that can be split into two pieces like the Winwing throttle and panel. That way, anyone who wants to integrate it into a full cockpit can detach the grip and integrate it into their own longer throttle arm. Of course I could probably adapt my cockpit to use a full throttle arm, but it would likely mean losing use of my left armrest. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro

I have Virpil's 200mm extension, but the length and angle are not quite right. I wonder if you might be able to come up with a solution. I could use one that's about 175mm, and has the bend at a sharper angle than Virpil's, to bring the stick grip closer to me. Do you think that's possible? I have an Ender 3 but no knowledge on how to actually create models.

Also interested and price is acceptable. My question is how the idle and AB detents will be addressed: Click through like the Cougar, or more realistic requiring rotating the throttle grip (my preference)?

Okay, I just got off the phone with Falcon Northwest. They confirm that: 1) the 3090 they are using, and I'll receive, is the eVGA XC3 Gaming. 2) none of the cards that they are using, and that eVGA sent out, have more than four POSCAPs. 3) the card will not be factory overclocked (that is my option if I so choose, which I probably will not). I think that should alleviate any concerns about eVGA 3090 cards. I also asked why they weren't using the nVidia Founders Edition cards, as they did with the 3080, and the 2080ti before that. The answer was because of the massive size of the card, it wouldn't have fit inside the Talon case.

I rewatched it from that point, and I'm still convinced that units with 2 MLCCs and 4 POSCAPs should be in the clear, especially since the FE card is using that. I should be able to call FalconNW in 3 and a half hours. EDIT: By the way, separate interjection I'd like to make... I had a new Razer Blackwidow v3 Pro wireless keyboard delivered yesterday, and I'm already over the moon about it. Great keyboard, and has onboard lighting control like the Huntsman TE, so I can use it at work without Synapse installed! :D

Anyone planning on getting the 3090 for VR? I’m going to call FalconNW as soon as they open to confirm the 3090 card they’re using and the POSCAP situation. EVGA looks to be in the clear but I want to confirm. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro
