Realsimulator F-18CGRH is available for preorder
RogueSqdn replied to Supmua's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
No PayPal issues here. The only issue I had was realizing that I needed to create a new account since they have a new web store. My last order from them was in January. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk -
Realsimulator F-18CGRH is available for preorder

Realsimulator F-18CGRH is available for preorder I have the F16SGRH CE and it’s the best grip I’ve ever used. I knew this Hornet grip would be a day 1 order for me. I’ve been checking their site two or three times a week for this. Ordered. [emoji106] Edit: I should add that I use the F-16 grip on both the FSSB R3L for the Viper, and in the T-50CM2 base via Bluetooth for the Warthog. No problems with either. Third MFD added and working in TARGET I don’t mind at all. I don’t use Target anymore though because the only TM controllers I still use are the WH and Cougar (TUSBA) throttles. I do still use the Hornet grip though, with a T-50CM2 base. I’ve pretty much moved fully to VR and MFDs are one of the things I sacrificed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I cut the floor mat. I misjudged around the stick and pedals a bit, so on Monday after work I'll go get another floor mat. For right now, I covered up my errors with electrical tape (which isn't sticking very well).

Redid my cockpit this weekend after seeing some inspiration on Reddit. No idea why the forum is inverting my thumbnails... they're not inverted on the computer, and I downloaded them from iCloud. :wallbash: Well I tried something before hitting submit on the post... instead of using the iCloud for Windows to save them to the computer, I went to the iCloud Photos site and downloaded them from there. No inversion. At any rate, the first picture shows two things. One, when I ordered my chair I had to order it in pairs on Amazon, and I keep the extra in the garage in case my cockpit chair wears out or gets damaged. I used that spare to help build the new cockpit so I wouldn't have to haul the cockpit chair downstairs. Two, next to my FSSB mount, I mounted a Logitech MX Ergo trackball on a swiveling mount, so it can rotate closer to me when not using the FSSB. I kept the keyboard tray and TV mount the same. The only thing I have left to do is to install a floor mat I bought, a black foam one with a diamond pattern from Home Depot. The outdoor carpet on the base is hard to keep clean because everything sticks to it, so If I have a floor mat down, I can just remove it and shake it out to clean it. I just have to cut it to size because of the rudder pedals (VPC ACE2) and the center stick (VPC T-50CM2 base).

I didn’t see anything about AB percentage, but it sounds like it’s also adjusting the curve. There are multiple threads and YouTube videos out there about setting your throttle curve to match the afterburner activation, but the gist is this: in that window in DCS, there’s a little black dot. What you do is to get in flight in the F2 view and move your throttle to the point just before the afterburner lights. Go back into the curve window and move your throttle slightly. You don’t want the throttle to move much, you’re just trying to get the black dot to move. When it settles, it will be at the activation point. Mine was past the 20 column but slightly before the 30 column. I adjusted the 30 column down one point at a time until it activates in flight right as I push through the detent. I don’t use JG for any curves, but there’s a Youtube video or two out there about that subject also, as well as a thread on the ED forums. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I didn’t use SimAppPro for anything but backlight control. As for the fingerlifts in AB, there’s no button activated when lifting them so you can’t utilize the DCS command to raise/lower them. If you set your curve correctly, you won’t need to. As for fingerlifts on engine shutdown, I have Joystick Gremlin execute a button when each throttle is moved into idle (releasing buttons 1&2), and map that button to the engine start command. I use the throttle’s buttons 1&2 for the engine stop commands. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Glad you found out something for you then. It took me a while to get used to JG, coming from TARGET, but since I'm not using any TM controllers anymore, I kinda had to, to get over some limitations.
-
I'm going to ask what might be a dumb question... but you DO have vJoy installed, correct? It's a separate program that JG interfaces with.
-
Under action settings, click the dropdown box that says Joystick, and choose the vJoy option. Dinner time... I'll check back later if you have any other issues.

The 2-4 screenshots are of a macro action added to the Z Axis on the throttle. There's three vertical tabs on the right side of the macro action. Each screenshot of 2-4 is of one of those tabs. The action tab indicates what happens (in my file, I also have the center of the z axis activate a button, and also at the top and the bottom, so I don't have to go into SimAppPro for that). The condition tab indicates that it only happens if you're holding button 13 on the throttle. The Virtual Button tab indicates that it only happens in between certain values on the Z axis. I don't think it would necessarily work if I were to simply upload the file, because it may be dependent on IDs assigned by Windows. But it's worth a shot if it might make things easier on you. Word of warning... there is a LOT of stuff going on in this file, on multiple controllers (not just the Winwing gear). It might be confusing. I suggest you use this as a starting point for what you want to do yourself. HOTAS.zip

First, map the Z axis on the throttle to a vJoy axis, choose relative and scale 25.00. Second, you have to also set up a way to center the axis since it won't autocenter. I choose to have it center when I have the comm switch pressed inward (button 13) and the knob is moved to center.

You could always change it to “Present ARMS!” [emoji6] Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

This will require editing the default.lua for the Hornet. I’ve done this but can’t provide it right now because I’m at work. Editing it will create one action for moving the switch on and another for off. You could stop after that and bind them to the switch... but if you simply do that, it won’t shut off when you reach bingo because the sim will see the switch still active. For that to be fixed, you’ll have to bind the ON action to a quick press and release of the button in Joystick Gremlin. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

I don’t think I’ve seen instructions for SimAppPro. The only vJoy issues I had were it insisting on creating extra vJoy devices. If you reboot and don’t open SimAppPro again it should be ok if you set your vJoy devices as desired in vJoy Config. If that doesn’t work, I’d suggest you uninstall both it and SimAppPro and set up SimAppPro first before installing vJoy, that way it can’t affect it. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Sometimes it just takes a few plug/replugs or reboots to get it to recognize both the throttle and the panel. My approach is to use it for only an absolute minimum: adjusting the backlight brightness. Once I get that set, I don't open it for any other reason. For vJoy usage I use Joystick Gremlin.

I can answer that one, and the answer is yes. To detach the panel from the throttle you have to undo four screws. The panel and the throttle have individual USB connectors.

Gen Tie Control Cover Not working You’re welcome to. I think that ED should provide an option where one button does both in these instances, given limitations of home controllers. They’ve done it before, with the TDC depress and Mavericks on the Hornet. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Engine Crank issue I don’t use SimApp Pro for anything other than setting backlight levels, so I’m sorry but I can’t help you there. The cycle commands work fine for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Switch covers don’t work that way... I’ve never seen one trip a switch. If there’s a shortcoming here, it’s on ED for the keymapping options, not on Winwing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Didn't have a chance tonight to try recalibration with my panel, but posted about it over in the PointCTRL v2 thread.
