Definitely true. I usually have the HSI on the right DDI when landing for that reason.

I don’t. I put them to the side when I don’t need them, and pick them up when I need to. -

Yes. -
I'm talking about DISPENSER BYPASS/ON/OFF, stays in position set. The dispenser switch that you hit to actually dispense chaff/flares is spring-loaded, and I use the china hat for it.
-
It’s not just the nipple sensor. I have a slew upgrade and I have Maverick problems. It should be fixed soon.

Stays in position set at. I use the boat switch for it also.

preferred method operating in the cockpit...

I've had my Rift since before they came out with Touch controllers. I was using the Warthog, with a mouse on my right side and a trackball on the left side of the throttle. After seeing a bit on Youtube about right clicking with them, I bought a set this week, but after only two days with them, I'm floored at how much more immersive using them to click buttons and switches is. Also, you can use the thumbsticks to replace the mouse wheel when manipulating knobs. I have the left controller sitting the to my throttle, and the right one on a small table I built. Both are at about thigh height and are perfect spots to set them when my hands are on the HOTAS. On the left controller, one button also does ESC and another centers VR. One button on the right controller zooms VR (though I'll still keep that function on the throttle's MSP button). I'm still looking forward to seeing what MilesD comes up with, but right now I'm pretty happy. -

You'd have to use TARGET. I've been fiddling with a profile that uses about 94 DX buttons and includes mapping for the Warthog stick, throttle, and TWCS throttle. Due to the 8 DX axis limit, you'd have to edit the profile's EXCLUDE statements if you wanted to swap between the throttles. The toggle switches have all positions mapped as ON positions, so everything will be set correctly when the mission starts. Anyone is welcome to take a look at this if they want. You'll need to put all these files in the folder your scripts are located in, and go into TARGET's file paths options and remove the Program Files location. This is so the 128 button mod will work. Switch Positions - default.lua
RogueSqdn replied to RogueSqdn's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Sometimes it doesn't want to sync with the switch position at mission start. I've not been able to figure that out. My suggestion is to move the switch positions a few times before clicking the FLY button. I don't know why else you might be having a problem. -
Switch Positions - default.lua
RogueSqdn replied to RogueSqdn's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
Well the keyboard lua edit is really not necessary (unless perhaps you want to map one of these commands to a key). Not sure why it wouldn't be working for you though. -
Appears to be isolated to the Aerial Refueling instant action missions. I flew the Carrier - Cold & Dark mission today, and refueling worked there.

I posted this in the DCS 2.5/Bugs forum, but today's patch makes the S-3 take a steep dive after you make contact. It will impact into the water in the PG and Caucasus instant action missions.
-
Today's update has broken AAR for the S-3 / F/A-18C combo. Don't know about other planes yet, but after making contact, the S-3 enters a steep dive and won't pull out... impacts into the water. EDIT: I should state I tried the instant missions in both PG and Caucasus.

I saw that and I did. It's just gibberish to me. ;)

I saw an earlier post about exposed variables allowing you to set different PTT keys for different modules but saw no info on how to actually accomplish this. Right now I can only do it in TARGET. How can this be done? Please be specific... I would need a working example to follow.

What I find interesting is that it's listed separately, so would it have to have a different base? There are also buttons H2P and H3P listed. My guess is that when this is released, those buttons will be added in software to the original Warthog base, and if you have them programmed but don't have the stick handle to support them they will just be non-existent, like H4P is if you're using a Cougar handle. The other interesting bit is that they have the Warthog stick labeled as F-16 instead of A-10 (Not in addition to A-10, they've renamed it). I suppose that's likely because of the paddle switch. This version of TARGET still doesn't update the bug in defines.tmh for the Cougar's ANT knob, so I had to go back and change that again. (changing line 960 from define ANT_ELEV IN_POSITION_AXIS_THROTTLE to define ANT_ELEV IN_POSITION_AXIS_SLIDER2).

Throttletek F-18 throttle
RogueSqdn replied to Sokol1_br's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
They told me the countermeasures switch is spring-loaded but the speedbrake is not. I didn't ask about the comm switch being spring-loaded. I'm starting to think waiting to see what TM has in store may be the best course of action. -
Well it’s bedtime and I’ll post a few thoughts. Cursor is very smooth and easy to vary speeds on. Much more precise than the default nub and comparable to the TDCs on the TWCS and Cougar. One thing I tried out that I was NOT happy with was trying to designate an AUTO bombing target in the Hornet HUD. I’m putting that on ED and not on Delta, though, for two reasons. 1) it’s early access and I’ve read several other complaints about this issue, and 2) the cursor is VERY smooth in controlling the Hornet’s radar. I haven’t had the chance to try any other aircraft out yet. One issue I noticed is that when the cursor hits travel limits it scrapes some against the plastic of the piece the two screws go into. I take that as being an effect of one 3D printed part rubbing against another. Hopefully someone will come up with a solution. My only other thing is the design of the pop-on cursor cap that you actually move around. I hope there will be an option in the future to get one more like the real thing. There’s nothing WRONG with this choice, but personal preference, I’d rather have something more realistic. To each his own. Thanks, Delta! Great job.

Throttletek F-18 throttle
RogueSqdn replied to Sokol1_br's topic in PC Hardware and Related Software
I'm seriously considering purchasing it. I've had a back-and-forth over email today with Throttletek, and to answer a question some have probably been thinking: The comm switch is only two-way and would not support the MIDS A / MIDS B functions (that aren't working now, but will be in the future). Throttletek can substitute a four-way switch (though given the price, it is most likely something specialized like the F-16 ICP's four-way DCS switch). The force sensors for the TDC are no longer available (apparently that was a small run). Lead time is 10 weeks, and as stated requires 50% up front. In my opinion, this actually may make it more affordable since you don't have to drop the whole price at once. This wouldn't be my first rodeo with spending a lot at once on simming, though, as I have both the FSSB R2 and R3, and an Obutto. Any more thoughts, Flamin Squirrel? -
Received mine today and have it installed! I'll let you know what my experiences are later tonight.

Switch Positions - default.lua
RogueSqdn replied to RogueSqdn's topic in Controller Questions and Bugs
You can try the “Synchronize HOTAS controls at Mission Start” option and see if that helps. Otherwise I’d pause and move all your switches around. -
I spent about twenty minutes this afternoon putting this together for those who want to use a Warthog throttle and not use TARGET (which I use most of the time, but I'm thinking about stopping). Place the following above the CHEAT section near the top of your C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Input\FA-18C\joystick\default.lua (and your C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World OpenBeta\Mods\aircraft\FA-18C\Input\FA-18C\keyboard\default.lua). --------------------------------------------- -- Mods ------------------------------------ --------------------------------------------- { down = hotas_commands.THROTTLE_EXTERIOR_LIGTHS, up = hotas_commands.THROTTLE_EXTERIOR_LIGTHS, cockpit_device_id = devices.HOTAS, value_down = 1.0, value_up = 0.0, name = _('Exterior Lights Switch'), category = {_('Special For Joystick'), _('Throttle Grip'), _('HOTAS')}}, { down = gear_commands.LaunchBarSw, up = gear_commands.LaunchBarSw, cockpit_device_id = devices.GEAR_INTERFACE, value_down = 0.0, value_up = 1.0, name = _('Launch Bar Control Switch'), category = {_('Special For Joystick'), _('Left Vertical Panel')}}, { down = iCommandPlaneShipTakeOff, up = iCommandPlaneShipTakeOff, name = _('Catapult Hook-Up Switch'), category = {_('Special For Joystick'), _('General')}}, { down = extlights_commands.LdgTaxi, up = extlights_commands.LdgTaxi, cockpit_device_id = devices.EXT_LIGHTS, value_down = 0.0, value_up = 1.0, name = _('LDG/TAXI LIGHT Switch'), category = {_('Special For Joystick'), _('Left Vertical Panel')}}, { down = gear_commands.AntiSkidSw, up = gear_commands.AntiSkidSw, cockpit_device_id = devices.GEAR_INTERFACE, value_down = 0.0, value_up = 1.0, name = _('Anti Skid Switch'), category = {_('Special For Joystick'), _('Left Vertical Panel')}}, { down = iCommandPlaneGearUp, up = iCommandPlaneGearDown, name = _('Landing Gear Control Handle'), category = {_('Special For Joystick'), _('Left Vertical Panel')}}, { down = gear_commands.HookHandle, up = gear_commands.HookHandle, cockpit_device_id = devices.GEAR_INTERFACE, value_down = 1.0, value_up = 0.0, name = _('Arresting Hook Handle'), category = {_('Special For Joystick'), _('Right Vertical Panel')}}, Here's a few explanations for my thinking: Exterior Lights: Simple, on/off for moving the pinky switch forward and back to center. Launch Bar: Intended for the Left Fuel Flow switch, it's reversed from the original command's behavior, such that flipping the switch on will set the bar to retract, so your switch position matches that of the switch in the cockpit. Catapult Hookup: Intended for the Right Fuel Flow switch, it executes the command on both up and down, so you can send the hookup command and then cancel it if you wish by simply flicking the switch off, instead of having to flip it down and then back up. Landing/Taxi Light: Intended for Left Motor Switch. Flipping the switch down turns the light off, returning it to center turns the light on, so the switch position matches that of the switch in the cockpit. Flipping the switch up to the IGN position is intended to execute "Engine Crank Switch - Cycle Left." You'll have to program that in DCS if you wish to use the momentary position for it. Anti-Skid Switch: Intended for Right Motor Switch. Flipping the switch down turns the switch off, returning it to center turns the switch on, so the switch position matches that of the switch in the cockpit. Flipping the switch up to the IGN position is intended to execute "Engine Crank Switch - Cycle Right." You'll have to program that in DCS if you wish to use the momentary position for it. Gear Handle: Intended for the EAC switch. Flipping it up raises the gear, flipping it down lowers the gear. Hook Handle: Intended for the RDR ALTM switch. Flipping it up raises the hook, flipping it down lowers the hook. Also, here's what I set the other switches/buttons on the throttle to: Pinky Switch back: Not used. I might use something later, but haven't come up with anything yet. Could be used for the ejection seat. Left Throttle Button: Cage/Uncage Button Slew Control: Throttle Designator Controller - Depress. X/Y axis are set to control the TDC. Coolie Hat up: Radar Elevation Control - Up Coolie Hat down: Radar Elevation Control - Down Coolie Hat left: RAID/FLIR FOV Select Button Coolie Hat right: ATC Engage/Disengage Switch Mic Switch press: VR Zoom (under UI Layer) Mic Switch up: COMM Switch - COMM 1 Mic Switch down: COMM Switch - COMM 2 Mic Switch left: COMM Switch - MIDS B Mic Switch right: COMM Switch - MIDS A Speed Brake forward: Speed Brake Switch - RETRACT/OFF Speed Brake back: Speed Brake Switch - EXTEND Boat Switch forward: DISPENSER Switch - BYPASS/ON Boat Switch back: DISPENSER Switch - OFF/ON China Hat forward: Dispense Switch - Forward(CHAFF)/Center(OFF) China Hat back: Dispense Switch - Aft(FLARE)/Center(OFF) APU switch: APU Control Sw (special) - ON/OFF. If you use this, you'll have to flip the switch off when the APU automatically shuts off during startup to have it match the switch position. You can also use "APU Control Switch - ON/OFF," in which case flipping the switch only toggles the switches' position. This means during startup, you should flip it up to turn it on, then immediately flip it off so it will match switch position after auto shut-off. L/G WRN: MASTER CAUTION Reset Button Flap switch up: FLAP Switch - AUTO/HALF Flap switch down: FLAP Switch - FULL/HALF Autopilot Engage/Disengage button: Fuel Dump Switch - ON/OFF Autopilot switch up: Probe Control Switch - EXTEND/RETRACT Autopilot switch down: Probe Control Switch - EMERG EXTD/RETRACT Throttle Left Idle: Throttle (Left) - OFF/IDLE Throttle Right Idle: Throttle (Right) - OFF/IDLE Hope this helps anyone who's having issues setting up their Warthog throttle!

[ALL MODULES][SP/CO-OP] Liberation Dynamic Campaign

Thanks for the response. I don't suppose it will work with an existing campaign if I download your update, would it? I managed to get Hornet missions working from Al Dhafra. -
[ALL MODULES][SP/CO-OP] Liberation Dynamic Campaign
RogueSqdn replied to shdwp's topic in User Created Missions General
I must be missing something easy... I start a PG campaign, click on the carrier, add two Hornets, click Pass Turn so they are delivered. A mission from the carrier is available, I click it, check the AWACs box, change the Amount to 2, the clients to 1, and click commit, and nothing happens. If I leave the two boxes blank and click commit, a mission is generated, but with no aircraft.
