I still don't know how yet although it must be feasable somehow, as some MFDs are displayed partially opaque.

Man sollte dabei auch immer bedenken, dass die Karte ja den Zustand der 70er/80er abbilden soll. Evtl. sah es damals ganz anders aus.

I tried to export the MFDs on a F-4 some months ago but was told that F-4 does not support that (yet?). If there is an update let me know how.

I am surpised to miss Bonn as the german capital during cold war on the map. I suppose this would be a primary target for Warshaw Pact forces during cold war.

Soweit ich das bis jetzt checken konnte fehlt auch Bonn, zumindest in Phase I. Müsste die damalige Bundeshauptstadt als vermutlich wichtiges Ziel für die Truppen des Warschauer Paktes nicht dabei sein? Auf der F10 Karte geht der Rhein flussabwärts etwa bis Remagen, hört also ca. 40km südlich von Bonn auf.

For me the price vs. performance sweetspot is at 4070 Ti super. I choose a Geforce RTX with 16GB VRAM. The performance is good, also at 4k but power consumption, price and physical size are still within reasonal limits. However, pairing with a good CPU and sufficient RAM helps unlocking the GPU potential.

In Phase II geht die Karte im Westen dann auch bis zum Rhein. Da kann ich dann hoffentlich mit der F-16 im Tiefflug über die Hauptstrasse meines Heimatdorfes düsen. Bin schon durch Berlin durch. Tempelhof sieht gut aus, allerdings fallen die vielen gleichen Gebäude schon etwas auf. Sieht aus, als ob die halbe Stadt vom gleichen Architekten gebaut wurde. Aber das ist schon mal ein guter Start. Sobald die Karte bis ins Rheinland geht, kann ich die Details besser checken. Ausserdem hätte ich gerne noch mehr Spektakel und optische Zerstörung beim Absturz. Bin halt ein bischen morbide Aber das liegt ja nicht an der Karte.

I wonder if there's any possibility to use existing map data from Google Earth, Google Maps etc. for DCS. This should save a lot of work and make complete earth available.

Ich frage mich gerade, ob man für die Karten in DCS nicht die Geodaten von Google Map und Google Earth in irgendeiner Form nutzen könnte.

DCS CW map has a size of 890km x 900km = 801.000 km², requiring 205GB SSD space. Whole Europe (excl. Greenland, incl. Russia west of Ural) is about 10,5 mio km². that's approx. 13x the size. I assume lesser populated areas with less airports, cities etc. should also require less memory size. Phase IV++ map might fit on a 2TB SSD and will definetly fit on a 4TB SSD. Just to plan your next SSD purchase
