Could be that it is disabled in that specific mission you started or in options. Works for me fine.

We'll see. Most of the projects in DCS are 1 man show maybe two, HB and ED maybe assign more engineers to any given project (I doubt) so it takes time, but what other game takes less these days? I think KC-30A (announced in 2023) and KA-6D (announced in 2021) will be delivered faster than in 5 years total. The new S-3 Viking by ED took almost 4 years, still less than 5

The one you are after is in the game by default.

Yeah, Sweden, Switzerland, hard to distinguish those two Scandinavian countries

OS DRIVE :\Users\ USERNAME \Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\FA-18C_hornet Example skin Swedish Air force (fictional skin) (digitalcombatsimulator.com) @Ghostmaker mind you this skin is LUA file does not contain the latest section that controls display of bort numbers, hence it will have bort numbers all over it. It looks like the creator of this skin did not update it for a while, but you could edit the description.lua and add this lines: {your path}\Saved Games\DCS\Liveries\FA-18C_hornet\Fictional Swedish Airforce Splinter\description.lua custom_args = { [0027] = 1, -- USN_MODEX_VERTICAL_STABILIZERS [1000] = 1, -- USN_MODEX_FLAPS [1001] = 1, -- USN_MODEX_NOSE [1002] = 1, -- KUWAIT_MODEX_NOSE_AND_VERTICAL_STABILIZERS [1003] = 1, -- AUSTRAILIA_MODEX_REAR_FUSELAGE_AND_GEAR_DOORS [1004] = 1, -- FINLAND_MODEX_FORWARD_FUSELAGE [1005] = 1, -- SWITZERLAND_MODEX_VERTICAL_STABILIZERS here:

Any specific map in question? When it comes to rendering graphics, ED is pushing what is possible with DX11, they said this however: The main achievement in 2022 is that DCS now works under Vulkan producing the same visuals as under DirectX. This result is fully ‘transparent’ for our graphics programmers, allowing them to write the same code for both platforms without the need to have separate code paths for Vulkan and DirectX11 and beyond. The next step is to provide our graphics programmers with the new Vulkan features compared to DirectX 11. These include new types of shaders (as per Shader Model 6 and further), ray tracing, some advanced rendering techniques, such as GPU driven rendering, and similar. At the present both, DirectX and Vulkan rendering produce exactly the same visuals, which means if Vulkan was released now, nothing would change in the visual aspects of DCS, however it for sure opens up the door to better shadows and lights, this in turn will make current 3D scenes look considerably better. Maps differ, depending which one you are flying low and slow, if you are into free maps, try Guam (free Marianas map) and if paid then go for Syria terrain. Rest of the maps are not that great for slow and low flying to be honest. However, even free Caucasus is much better to what it was 15 years ago. Crank up the graphical settings as well if your PC can, 1080Ti should handle it, your CPU isn't bad either, but for sure not at 4K resolution if you are into good FPS. Don't expect NTTR or Persian Gulf maps to change, not planned for considerable future, even though our community would love that.

Expectation on Air to Air missiles of the MiG-29A?
Gierasimov replied to pepin1234's topic in DCS: MiG-29A Fulcrum
Would you have the link to mentioned comparison by any chance? Recently I visited one of the airbases and a story that was shared with me by young Viper jockey was that he was training against Polish MiG-29 and he lost, twice. -
I am glad we got the KC-130 and MPRS, I wish there was A-400M as well. I know there is KC-30A coming with Australia Top End (as well as E-7A), and we are eagerly waiting for KA-6D from Heatblur.

Correct, that's why we fly DCS . This thread is about MAC. MAC meant to compete with highly popular online game about aircraft, which is also called simulation by more players than this forum has seen together at once. Then, you have another simulation, the civilian one, again with massive players base, far more than DCS (estimated, as EDSA never was keen on releasing numbers). Interestingly, if you look at the forums of both of those, you will find that respective player bases view those products as simulation games with highly realistic modules. I fly DCS for its drive to be the top tier highest level of realism, which in Digital Cockpit Simulation it surely is.

TrackIR not working in DCS is caused by two last updates of Natural Point software. Uninstall, install lower version and TrackIR is back.
-
It should say add KC-10 BACK This tanker was part of the Lock On Modern Air Combat, taking fuel in the Eagle ... oh the memories ... There are so many nice things that could be added to DCS ...KC-10 is one of them, as a FF module even more so.

That's why I asked if he meant fictional planes. To make sure. I know what the words in English mean. Thank you. Yep we could but why would we? It's always the same people (mostly) exchanging their opinions here. I guess we like it, we are very small bunch of folks talking here, small compared to the number of people who are registered on this forum.

Flaming Cliffs did not use 'docs' improvements that you mention that were past the initial FC, I am not sure, coz if it did, there would be nothing stopping ED from developing FF Su-25T
-
Not on my PC now so can't get you Miz file but the only difference I had was that I only used the same vehicles in the group. Three Chinese IFVs

Fantastic planes? Did you mean fictional planes? I am in the right forum. Flaming Cliffs used 'docs'? I'm m sure you remember when LOMAC converted to Flaming Cliffs...

Why my image uploads are so limited?

Thank you Razor+r & BigNewy, I deleted bunch of files even some dating a decade ago.. -

In one of the AH-64D module updates Wags mentioned female voiceovers for Apache flight members.

No. For the game like MAC or even for the Flaming Cliffs they don't need 'docs' that aren't published. We are all spoiled by the 'realistic simulation' DCS tries hard to achieve, but think about it for a minute. It is just an entertainment product, as such all of it can be made to fit the world of the actual game, based on physics, aerodynamics and generally available data. Why? Look at the Hornet project, Wags said long time ago, Hornet 'numbers' were changed as to not reveal it's performance, as it was still in use ...look at the highly successfull module Ka-50, it is based on the book(!) look at the mods by others such as Su-35, Su-57, F-22... These are user mods but are highly popular. People need to be entertained. Most of folks don't want to wait 6+ years bugs development just for the sake of the 'most realistic product for the commercial use'. Yes, you and me and thousands of others want that, but tens of thousands of others, just want to put a thing on thing press the space bar and see it go in spectacular flames. We are talking about the GAME here. Even DCS is NOT simulating everything to the highest realism, with a lot of shortcuts, dumb downs or unfinished unpolished experience. After all, DCS is just a PC game in flight simulation genre.

It is no longer available. Latest update removed Single Threaded version of DCS, now it it only MT version. This is not a solution, Single Threaded DCS does not exist anymore. Dust and smoke is WIP in DCS and part of the volumetric clouds code but also mentioned it is going to be written to be computed for epherical earth. @BIGNEWY any chance you could asked the team of the new volumetric clouds, dust and fog are coming to flat maps or will it be part of spherical earth project only please ?
-
I think the new effect is shown in DCS: AH-64D Radar Map Mode video, the first half a minute of the clip.
-
So... It is coming with DCS Earth project and NOT for current terrains? If it is going to be computed for epherical earth will it be cm backwards compatible with flat maps we have now?
-
fixed Trigger "GROUP ALIVE LESS THAN" not working any more
Gierasimov replied to LeCuvier's topic in Mission Editor Bugs
That is great to hear! I hope it will make it into the next update. -
They talked about clouds interfering with sensors before they talked about dust and fog... Get in a line But seriously I think I saw it in one of recent publications, a video or screenshot, I will try to find it.
