  1. Drop McAfee, just use Windows Defender, set exclusions for what you want and don't look back.
  2. I still do for VR, to run it smooth i need to activate Turbo mode through the OpenXR Toolkit when in MT but this creates a little but visible lag when turning my head quickly. I don't have that in ST.
  3. That's not entirely true. You can't run ST and MT versions of the game from the same single shortcut. It doesn't give you the option to do so. Same goes for VR and non VR mode. You don't have the option to set either VR or 2D when running by the means of the installed shortcut. If the game was previously ran and closed in VR mode and you want it to run in 2D, with only one shortcut you need to start the game which will launch in VR. You then need to unselect VR and by confirmation, the game will close and re-open in 2D. You can overcome these "smaller" problems by using multiple shortcuts.
  4. Got a preliminary last reply from TM: We inform you that, as TARGET is currently not fully supported by Windows 11, our options to assist you regarding this local issue are limited. Indeed, as it is not fully supported, some specific local issue can happen. We are working on a new update, and invite you to wait until it releases. We currently have no information to provide about when the next update will be available.
  5. What about using the 120DX button hack for Target? It gives you 120 DX numbers to assign instead of the normal 32.
  6. It works with Joystick Gremlin. Why it doesn't work with Target i don't know because the output it generates is correct and works in DCS but DCS doesn't see the actual Target key-press in the controllers section when a modifier is also in use. But in game it's recognized fine so why...? No clue actually.
  7. Regarding OTT i never had that locking up or getting corrupted. Not once. Something must be off on your side, installation wise. Also, everybody his own thing off course but Force IPD Distance set to "30"? Did you ever notice that it's only the cockpit that gets twice as big "and" that the outside world does not?
  8. You need to go via the official one first because this app needs an install to work. The updater in the app is just a link to the updater in your install directory. If that isn't there, the app can't do it's job.
  9. I have 2 issues with Windows 11 and Target Script Editor: Bit of history first: Windows 10 Pro and Target Script Editor: - When opening Target Script Editor the edge of edit window sits on the left, close to the file window. This is like it should be. - Stopping a script takes max 1 second. Now Windows 11 Pro: I first updated from Windows 10 to Windows 11 and Target Script Editor behaved a bit different. - When opening Target Script Editor the edge of edit window sits on the right and is small making the file window very big. I can drag the edit window over to the left but after closing and re-opening Target Script Editor, the edit window sits back on the right and i have to drag it again to the left. - Stopping a script takes between 5 and 10 seconds. Because i had a few other minor issues with the updated Windows 11 (from within Windows 10) i reversed back to Windows 10 and all was good again. Target Script Editor worked fine, edit window to the left and a small file window + stopping a script would take again no more then 1 second. Earlier this month i decided to install Windows 11 again but this time a complete fresh install, not an update from Windows 10 and on a freshly formatted drive. However, after installing Target on this fresh Windows 11 Pro it behaves just the same as it did after the upgrade from Windows 10 Pro so the edit window sits back on the right which i can drag over to the left but after closing it sits back on the right and stopping a script takes again between 5 to 10 seconds. The last couple of days i'm going back and forth with TM support about these issues but despite offering a few possible solutions, none of them solved either of the problems. I tried 3 versions of the Target software, all behave exactly the same under Windows 11. According to TM support this shouldn't happen. Just wondering if anybody else with Windows 11 is seeing the same as i do. Below is screenshot on how Target opens in Windows 11.
  10. Setting the profile you want to exclusive makes sure that the TrackIR software does not load a profile depending on a pre-loaded profile which the software selects from it's own game list.
  11. Wired with VD should also work, no need to go SA for this. When i had my Pico, SA just didn't cut it. Worse image quality and ASW not working at all.
  12. You better ask this question over in the VR section of the forum: https://forum.dcs.world/forum/302-virtual-reality/
  13. Or you can use Skatezilla's Updater/Launcher app and get rid of those shortcuts and start everything (and a lot more) from within one app. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/134493-the-dcs-updater-launcher-gui-utility-version-20-2023/
  14. In the VR settings in DCS there is an option to confine the mouse cursor to stay within the DCS window on your screen. This has pro's and con's: - Mouse stays within DCS, that way you don't loose the mouse cursor in VR when it moves out of the DCS VR mirror window on your screen. But as long as DCS is active you can't move the mouse out of that window, even if you want too (used to work fine, don't know about now because i have this option un-ticked). However, if you use a second monitor and want to look something up this option can be frustrating because you can't move the mouse out of DCS. - Mouse can move out of the DCS VR mirror window and with the headset on, it can be frustrating to get your cursor back into the window for you to use it when needed. You can prevent this by keeping the resolution of the mirror window the same as the resolution of your monitor + DCS will give a message in your headset that the DCS window is out of focus if you move it to your second monitor or if you move it out of a smaller DCS window.
  15. I don't own a Q2 but use a Rift-S with display port (but i used to have Pico 4 which i setup wireless and through USB cable). In your first post you said that you have the app on your phone but that is only to play stuff through the headset from within the headset (since it's a stand alone you don't need a PC for this). However, you need the PC software installed on your PC to make it run PC games (like DCS). For a first round I would just set it up with what the Oculus (Meta) PC software has to offer, it has everything build in that you need to make it work. You need that PC software first (link in my first post) and then use the Air Link (Quest Link is through USB cable if i'm correct) option. Don't look for a video on how to setup the Air Link with DCS, just look for a video that talks about setting up Air Link with a PC (for whatever game, it's all the same). When that is done, open DCS in 2D, go settings, select the VR tab on the far right and tic Enable Virtual Reality Headset. Once that is done, quit and restart DCS and it will run in VR in your headset (and in a mirror on your monitor). Drawback of this method is that you need to tic/untic the VR option and first restart DCS each time you want to change between 2D and VR. For this there are 2 options: - create 2 desktop icons, one for 2D and another with the --force_enable_VR behind the DCS.exe (if you play both ST and MT you need 4 DCS icons, 2 for ST and 2 for MT). - use SkateZilla's updater/launcher app which lets you switch between ST, MT and 2D and VR all selectable from within the app when you start DCS. Next, you don't need to worry about OpenXR or any other stuff (the Oculus software has an option to set OpenXR as the active VR runtime if needed but it works with the Oculus runtime too). You can deal with OpenXR Toolkit later if you want, it's not madatory, nothing is, just the Oculus/Meta PC software.
  16. This is a Q2 setup for PC video on Youtube. There are various video's to be found on how to set it up on a PC. This one above has a section about USB connection and one about Air Link.
  17. For PC you need the Oculus software for PC. https://www.oculus.com/download_app/?id=1582076955407037
  18. Yup, found it. The VR rendering driver was set to Oculus API instead of OpenVR in Skate's app. Can't remember i changed that, maybe by accident...
  19. Cheers... It's coming from SkateZilla's launcher app. When i run the DCS.exe directly it works fine. I'll have a look in the app first although i didn't change anything nor did it update after 23/12.
  20. I already uninstalled and re-installed (see initial post) without success. + i don't have any OpenXR mods running nor installed.
  21. Nope, not even in safe mode. Oculus as OpenXR as runtime. It's weird indeed because in the other sims it works just fine. Also, the latest log after it ran succesfully in DCS ends with "session killed". For the rest i saw nothing special in there. If i run DCS now there isn't even a log file created (which it does with the other sims) like it isn't running at all. Later today i will try DCS directly without running it from SkateZilla's Launcher/updater utility which i normally use to launch DCS.
  22. OpenXR Toolkit menu doesn't show anymore when running DCS. Last time i used it was on the 23th for switching Turbo mode in MT. In the next session the Toolkit menu wouldn't show up anymore. The log file said: "session killed" on the last line. In the box Enable OpenXR Tookit selectively for each application DCS is ticked (un-ticked, tried and re-ticked again same problem). Went through all the troubleshooting steps that are posted on mbuccia's github page, one by one, no joy and this a few times. Uninstalled and re-installed, the toolkit still doesn't show in DCS. But... it does work in IL2, MSFS and Elite Dangerous without a problem. In those i can bring up the toolkit and make changes without a problem, just not in DCS.
  23. Not really, there is an empty template.tmc (one with and without MFD's) delivered with the TARGET software. At first i thought: that's not my cup of tea, but after digging a bit into it with the manual open on my second monitor it became clear how to use the MAPKEY and other functions. In the empty template.tmc all the basic stuff is already written out and commented out so all you have to do is remove the comments for the button you want and fill in the statements you need. All is step by step explained in the manual. The more programmer you are, the more complex stuff you can write but you don't need to be one to use it. Don't know why it sometimes works and sometimes doesn't but why would you load a script at startup of your PC besides the fact that's its automated (if it works). If it doesn't work all the time why getting frustrated by being stubborn and keep doing it each time if it doesn't work 9 out of 10? I just load up Target just before i launch DCS, select a script for the plane i want to fly and run it. Takes just a few seconds extra. And if i don't fly, nothing gets loaded either (keeps the memory clean and the CPU doesn't need to work to keep it running in the background for nothing). Tip: You can use SkateZilla's Updater/Launcher to start the stuff you want and then start DCS all from within the same app. Nothing more easier then that.
