DCS: A-10C Warthog 1.1.0.9 Full install is up!

Hmm..wind corrected IFCCC is working now...good! -
Hideout mission - Start to Finish - uncut. A very cool and relatively easy mission where you have to coordinate attacks with a Kiowa Warrior reconassaince helicopter acting as FAC to prepare the way for the insertion of Special Forces in BlackHawks. The SOF will enter the area as soon as you clear the way, will inspect the bunkers for terrorist material, and then will return to base. Eight parts of 15 minutes, because the nice people on You Tube doesn't allow more time for my account. Part 01- Aircraft Start-up and taxiing Part 02 -Take-off and getting to target area Part 03 - Rendez-vous with special forces and start of attack on enemy positions Part 04 - Continuing attack Part 05 - Ending of attack and return to base Part 06 - Return to base and inbound for landing Part 07 - Landing, taxiing and start of shutdown procedure Part 08 - Final of shutdown procedure and mission end. Leave comments on. Hope you all enjoy! P.S.: Constructive criticism is always welcome. The objective is to exchange information and learn everyday on this amazing sim.

Wow! Congrats! Added to favorites, for sure!

And coming from the guy who deals with the "ACFT"s everyday, I just have to believe it. I didn't know that it was part of the "chiefs" job. +1 rep to you for your nice work.

"Smerch Hunt": Radio message target coordinates for CDU
RodBorza replied to Bahger's topic in DCS: A-10C Warthog
I did a video on that particular mission. If you want to check out the 7(!) parts of it... -
And, as a suggestion: as waiting 4 miutes can be boring, you can take your time to go to the DSMS profile page and set it up as desired. Also, you can use the time to set up the CMS program. And when you see it, the 4 minutes have gone and you are ready to go.

If you take out the main radar, the rest will be defenseless? Meaning, those radars on the launchers are only for tracking? If yes, Mavericks and CBUs would be a very nice combo. DEAD with A-10s...wow!

What you are looking for is this: http://forums.eagle.ru/showthread.php?t=66422&highlight=wind+correct+CDU Also, I did a video on the Smerch Hunt mission where I do use a lot of the Laste>Wind page. If you look from Part 2 onwards, you can see how it's done. Look on the video below, at 05:54. As SlackerD said it's not working right now, but will be functional on the next patch (hopefully).

hehehe..nice one, mate!

Do the Instant Actiom - Easy - Georgia Spring mission until you are familiarized with all the systems. I did it many times over, because when I was about to release that JDAM, the question pop up: "how do I do it, again???". See, training helps as an introduction, but when you really are hands down on the job, you really have to think for yourself, and that's when you really learn. Single missions help you learn a lot, because some of them are really challenging. Even now, that I have some experience, I still have to pause the game, open the manual, read it, or open some You Tube tutorial somewhere to know how what I want to do, and do it right. The learning process allows you to see the full potential of this sim and admire even more the amount of effort put into the details. It's simply amazing. And it will make you like it more and more.

Sorry to ask this, but I looked everywhere and I couldn't find an answer: what is the command to see the mission goals screen, i.e., the screen that shows that you've done 50%/75%/100% of the mission goals. I'm playing a variety of single missions and would like to know if I did all the mission goals of if is there something missing, but all I could find was the debriefing screen (called score window on the Controls options). Also, I would like to know if the Briefing in flight screen is working in 1.1.0.8 and what is te command for that. LAlt+B is getting me nowhere. Thanks in advance.

It is a great tutorial WarriorX. I was trying and trying to get the presets right, but now I know what to do in order to he bugs to not get in the way. Thanks!

Nice shot (in both senses!)

Nope... I don't think I have. How do I do that? Still getting used to the TIR . Today I tried to play ARMAII..it's a whole different experience.

Hello all, When I run DCS:A-10 with Track IR 5 the current title that shows on the IR 5 screen is listed as Black Shark, not as DCS:A-10. I'm using driver version 5.1.3 running on Win 7 64 bit. Is that right or do I have do to something to change it?

For the F-111 I can't say much, but I remember from Jane's F-15 and Falcon AF that when you set up bombs to ripple, the point that showed on the HUD would be the middle of the calculated impact area, and the computer would give the time and release cues for the initial release point. In other words: the point that appears on the HUD, is not the point where the computer will start releasing bombs. They will be release a little bit earlier, to get all targets from start to finish. At least, that's valid for CCRP. For CCIP, I have to test it, though.
-
Agreed. I remember that on Jane's F-15 I used a lot of Mk-82 & 84 - Airs, for low level bombing. And they were pretty accurate in conjuction with CCRP. Actually, they were one of my favorites..there's is nothing like ripling a whopping 12 Mk-82's at the 500-500 instance. Have to agree again. PGMs are accurate, but not that more accurate. Mk-82's can do what they do, no problem. But in defence of PGMs, I have to say that they are deadly against tanks, which for Mk-82 is literally a hit or miss thing.
-
Dbeaty, I agree that on soft targets and in a grouping, they are of great effect. But even so, they travel too far from wind drift. Well, at least is what I think, not sure. Maybe the A-10 isn't fast enough to drop them correctly, that's all. Edit: Well, it seems that they do spin. Never noticed that before. And that's a very lucky coyote!

I'm working on a little tutorial on Mk-82s usage and on my experimentations so far I've noticed that Mk-82 Airs are very innacurate in what should be their standard type of release (level flight, very low (<1000 feet), very fast (400-500 kts)). The best results I've got is when you are at 500 feet, as fast as the A-10 can go (i.e. 340 kts) in level flight and in CCRP mode. Even so, they drift far away from the target. That's the best results I've got when using Mk-82 Airs; very steep dive and CCIP mode on soft targets. I had setup a group with a varied assortment of targets and let bombs away. Trucks, Air defenses, BMPs, infantry, all destroyed. But hardened targets like T-80 or a S-300 radar were still intact. Did it over and over again, same results. Eventually, tanks can be destroyed in this type of attack, but it is only because I was releasing 6 Mk-82 Airs and on or another gets lucky and actually hits something. The other targets were destroyed by blast effects only. Conclusion: this type of steep dive attack I can do with slick-82's. It would be senseless doing this with Mk-airs (unless, it is only by the fun on doing it), since Mk-airs were not designed to this type of attack. And as paulrikki put it, not evertyme you can load guided bombs. And one thing that most of us pilots don't know of because we are too spoiled by guided bombs and fancy Mavericks, is that Mk-82's can be very deadly up to 15,000 ft, if you set them up right. What I mean is: wind correction input on the CDU; 5 mil consent; trimmed aicraft, tightly alligned with target...pickle. If you try it, you'll see results you wouldn't expect with slick bombs. They do fly like bullets through the air and hit their targets right on (with the notable exception of tanks, which are very, very tough).

Hmm..that's a godd tip. I'll try that for sure! Cichlidfan, Thank you for the link. It's awesome.

Just got my track IR. I'm amazed. I'm surprised by the quality of the product, not only the head tracking per se, but the overall appearance and attention to detail. You can see that many hours of engineering thought were spent in the product. You all got understand that here in Brazil Track IR are only avalaible through importers, since it is not a very popular product for the average public, so no stores have it in exposition. I bought through the internet and, as I said, for my surprised when I opened the box and went installing it, I was suprised by what I was seeing. Very nice product, worth every penny spenton it. Although it takes,a little bit of getting used to it, at first you can get a litle dizzy by the speed and fast view changes. So, there's a lot to be tweaked. In that note, I would like to know if there is a Track IR 5 profile that is default for the DCS: A-10 out there to download. Or if some kind soul has one and would be willing to share. Or there isn't, and I'll have to do it myself, changing and tweaking to my preference. But back to the sim, I gotta say that my Situational Awareness increase by a 100%. Now I know where my wingman is at all times. I just have to move my head for a second to check on him and get back to flying, not risking hitting a mountain in the way. With the joystick hat it was not that easy. Also, target spotting and landings are now a whole new ball game. It is instintictive, just move your head and look where you want to go. Very, very easy. Anyway, I just wanted to share. DCS+TIR is the way to go! or me, it is worth more than a fancy HOTAS right now.
