Something interesting I found kind of related to this. Currently the bug is effecting not just carriers, but also the way the F-15C collides with structures in DCS. You can just fly right through buildings, and you will fall through bridges. The airplane takes damage, but it phases through as if there is nothing there. In the FC3 entry.lua, if you change F15FM.old from true to F15FM.old = false the F-15C will properly interact with the collision model of other vehicles and structures... The only problem is that it makes the cockpit and most inputs not work. Should I report this somewhere more official?

There should either be a minimum post count or account creation date restriction added to the rules to prevent spamming.

I nominate EtherealN Maybe some day you will get your AT-802U.

As seen in this picture, the MiG-21 can fly inside the fireball of a nuke without taking very much damage. I could actually see stuff exploding in front of me as I was flying away from the explosion. While this is pretty cool looking, it might be a little too strong?
-
Here is my first report. I figured out how to drop a nuke without reading the manual. (To be honest, I almost botched the takeoff and the landing. (and apparently the nuke drop since it "hit" me too))

You may need to force DCS World to update. Go here: C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\Update DCS World If there is nothing there, put this as the target of your DCS shortcut (including quotes) To get to the target, right click the shortcut and click properties. "C:\Program Files\Eagle Dynamics\DCS World\bin\DCS_updater.exe" update If you have installed your copy of DCS world in a custom folder, the important part is the word update after the target location.

The early release was perhaps more of a surprise by ED than LN since they don't have all the backer keys out yet. Check the following quote: Through the store.

Yes. It accepted the activation.

I don't see another thread on this, but I am definitely sitting in a MiG-21 cockpit right now. Downloaded through the module manager.

Okay, you got me. I just saw an acronym and did a go around.

You know there are mobile arresting systems right? It would be pretty cool if we could place these anywhere we want in the mission editor.
-
There is no reason that a flame out would cause the MiG-21 to lose control under normal circumstances since the jet engine is on the centerline. With multi-engine airplanes you would suddenly have a big yawing moment from asymmetric thrust if one of the engines suddenly stopped. That is where the losing control thing comes from.

Next DCS (US) Fixed Wing Aircraft Wish List
VincentLaw replied to diecastbg's topic in DCS Core Wish List
I am sure there is a measurable difference in lift generated while the sweep is in the process of varying. It would technically create a small amount of lift doing so while parked with 0 airspeed. -
wishlist: possibilty to "create" airfields
VincentLaw replied to 9.JG27 DavidRed's topic in DCS Wishlist
Basically like a FARP for airplanes, maybe with runway variation options like dirt, grass, or steel planking. Currently if you land an airplane on random terrain, the surface "roughness" can randomly flip the plane over, so some degree of runway improvement will be necessary. -

It would be nice if we could spawn an airplane parked anywhere regardless of being an airport or not, and fuel trucks and repair trucks should work within a certain range of a parked plane regardless of location. (I realize the first is already possible with static objects, but I mean for player "ramp start") -
This really has nothing to do with the general theme or purpose of CA. It should be part of a separate module for DCS: KC-135. If you want to let players drive fuel trucks on the ground though, I could agree with that. It might be fun to refuel tanks in the field and airplanes on the tarmac.

MiG-21 LAUNCH TRAILER & ANNOUNCEMENT - COMING 18/09/2014!
VincentLaw replied to Cobra847's topic in MiG-21Bis
Corrigan took a picture of the MiG-21 in 1.2.10. This is what it looks like in EDGE. -
I bought the MiG-21 through SagePay on the 12th. It accepted all of my info, said it was paid, and gave me a key. Today I was looking at my bank account online and noticed that there is no record of the transaction, not even as a pending transaction. Did something break, did I mess something up, or is it normal to take a few days to show up in my bank account? Most stuff shows up almost instantly on there. edit update to avoid bumping: The payment finally showed up last night. I guess it just took a while for some reason.

Actually, I think that it is quantifiably more difficult. All we have to do is count the number of craters next to the German airfields.
-
The ladder button can only extend the ladder, not retract it. You have to radio the ground crew to retract your ladder for you.
-
I also recommend taking off and landing with flaps set to 0 degrees. It increases the amount of runway you need, but it makes it easier to keep the plane under control. I don't have the F-86, but it may have differential braking linked up to the rudder like the MiG-21 does.

Reread your post and you may find the answer self evident. Apparently you don't like sales. Every time you buy something, you should evaluate whether or not you will be satisfied with the purchase at that price. If yes, then buy it. If no, then don't buy it. Don't look back, and don't get upset when things go on sale if you answered yes at full price. If you answered no the first time, then consider buying it when it goes on sale. It is really that simple.

What does that have to do with the MiG-21?
