Indiafoxtecho FB: As 2024 comes to a close, we'd like to share a recap of our DCS activities this year, and some preview screenshots of the new G.91 cockpit. MB-339A/PAN +++++++++ The Macchino continues to be one of the most beloved modules to us, and in 2024 we have introduced a number of fixes and improvements. In particular: FLIGHT DIRECTOR SYSTEM: The most significant addition this year is undoubtedly the implementation of the Flight Director system, based on a PID control. This addition extends the training possibilities, which now include instrumental landings. SPECIAL OPTIONS: New special options have been introduced, allowing users to customize their flight experience on the MB-339. These options provide greater flexibility in configuring the module to personal preferences. NEW KEY BINDINGS: We have expanded the number of available keybindings to allow for more intuitive and comprehensive control of the aircraft. FLIGHT MODEL IMPROVEMENTS: The flight model has undergone several updates, further refining the aircraft's performance. In particular, improvements have been made to ground behavior during taxiing and takeoff, making these phases more realistic. BUG FIXES: We have worked tirelessly to address various issues reported by the community. Some of the key bug fixes have been: - More accurate Gunsight adjustments. - Resolved GPS and TACAN issues, which now correctly indicate magnetic heading. - Fixed incorrect altimeter values. - Numerous other minor optimizations that improve stability and overall experience. FUTURE UPDATES: The MB-339 remains in continuous maintenance, and we will continue to release updates and bug fixes to ensure the highest level of quality and fidelity. Additionally, we are considering introducing new features, such as the ability to deploy AIM-9L and/or Magic II air-to-air missiles. Although this is a fictional feature for the A version, it could be an interesting addition to expand the module's operational capabilities. DCS G.91 ++++++ Although we have been very quiet about the development of the G.91 module, rest assured that we have been working on it quite a lot in the past few months: this module remains a key project for us, and development is actively progressing. In particular we have just completed the the total refactoring of the cockpit model, and, while the textures are still WiP, we are happy to finally share with you some screenshot of the pilot's office. The next major step is to fully integrate the new cockpit with the aircraft code on the aircraft to date, allowing us to get rid of the old model, which we no longer consider up to the high-quality standards achieved by DCS World. We believe the G.91 development will proceed at a much faster pace and we are confident that we will be able to release a first version of the DCS G.91 by 2025. While we cannot commit to a specific date just yet, our philosophy remains unchanged across all our products: "It is done when it is done." Thank you for your patience and support as we continue working on our projects - a usual we'll keep you posted with the G.91 progress as soon as possible.

+ 1 some news could be awsome.

It's better to buy a bigger disk than to get rid of cool maps ;P.
-
Yes, it could be the other solution as well. Enjoy!

This can sometimes happen. I suggest always giving the order to return to base (RTB) basically in the final phase of the approach when we are landing or we are very close. Theoretically this can be improved but currently I'm doing something else so I suggest giving the order RTB by radio in the final phase of the flight, the later the better.

Nice! Thank you! Can we use gunner position and move M4 by mouse too (like in Kiowa)?
-
Interesting fact: maybe not everyone knows but textures are made on the whole Iraq map, also where it is not covered by the current EA area. Here is an example of ... Kuwait. The resolution is quite ok. Of course there are no objects here, but the whole area is perfectly suitable for patrol flights - plus - FPS are great in this part .

Strange artifacting after todays patch.

I noticed that this applies to the Broken 3 (clouds) set. -
Don't smoke so much in the cockpit! Btw. Seriously, I have no idea what's going on either. Everything is fine.
-
Yes, the angles could be a bit wider, especially when you open the armored cover on the left side.
-
Good find! We will probably see some announcement on 2025 & Beyond.

+1, fully agree, some iranian airfileds could be nice idea and big future potential.

Risky operation! "Airmen from the 1st Combat Aviation Brigade, 1st Infantry Division practiced a new rescue scenario for a downed crew. As part of the exercise, the crew of a downed OH-58D Kiowa Warrior had to fly to a location about a mile from the crash site, where they would be picked up by another OH-58D. Because of the small size of the Kiowa helicopters, the rescued airmen had to strap themselves into the fuselage and fly outside. Such rescue methods were used in Iraq in 2004 and 2007, when AH-64 Apache evacuations took place. The exercise, conducted by Big Red One, was intended to help develop procedures for such an eventuality, but without apparent success."

Iraq Launch | Afghanistan East Progress | Winter Sale has started

Btw. more pictures: Cant wait! -
Thank you! It may be, although it's a bit strange that it also depends on the country. I would take Iraq but unfortunately for many modules this country is unavailable (and they had Mi-8) so right, I was using RED coalition forces.

Looks like you switched to VLOC mode (locilizer mode), not GPS, using CDI key, right? See this: If you start with NS430 (hot), GPS mode is always on first. So you probably changed the mode to another (V-LOC). With GPS, after loading the map and NS430, an error appears: As you can see, this also appears in the L-39 immediately after loading (start in the air) and without touching the NS430, so it's probably not a module issue. Although the map is probably loaded into NS430 because ICAO appears as ORBI and ORAA, so these are airports from the map :). I've checked both modules on Caucasus map now, nothing like "No GPS position" pops up in the same situation. I added the track with Mi-8 + Iraq map. test.trk

This is great news and a great surprise right after the map of Iraq ! Will this area between the Arabian Sea and Afghanistan have any objects? Forests, for example, or will it just be a photo texture? Can we know something more? -
Maybe it's the NS430's issue and the lack of an update, or some code is missing from the Iraq map, I don't know if it's a map problem or a GPS problem, but something like this appears when we fly with the NS430:
-
We have a new insurgent on the trailer - so there will be some new assets. Actually, this is the second time, this guy was previously seen in a movie for Afghanistan. It would be good if he finally came out of this shelter ;).
-
Video trailer - the new insurgent is coming out again (see on the left), but we still don't have it .
-
BTW. ED solved it in Todays patch !

Another interesting fact is that this map uses something like "bump mapping" on the ground too. We no longer have a flat surface, but there are additional bulging elements here, which greatly diversifies the environment. It really looks great! Again, not very good quality screenies (taken with VR), but you can clearly see what's going on. Combined with the new "Haze" (if someone complains about the visibility of the horizon ) it looks really good!
