New, better graphical options can be nice but not at the cost of performance. If something is going to affect performance (even range of rendering) let it be as a user selectable option so that everyone can continue to enjoy DCS at its current level. I think the MT version has greatly improved performance, plus map streaming. Those were great moves, so it's interesting to see what else the future will bring.

That's right, this option doesn't work correctly now, unfortunately you have to wait until it starts working or you can skip this mission. Thanks for the feedback!

I also heard that @OnReTech is working on a map of the Balkans, we will see ;). +1, his Sinai is great!

The title: The news: The e-store: https://www.digitalcombatsimulator.com/en/shop/terrains/iraq_terrain/ I think the message is clear everywhere, that for now this is pre-order and EA (after release), and it's basically standard with add-ons for DCS.

It doesn't bother me in general, but I fly in VR, there may be a different reception. Additionally, it saves the loss of FPS (remember it! ), so I'm not of the opinion that everything has to be visible 120 km ahead. Only as an option, e.g. "ultra distance" new setting, the current settings are perfectly fine for me and I don't want to change it.

+1. It would be nice to have some date range, especially since it seems to be understandable that East is ready (?) but needs some quality updates. Personally, I don't mind releasing East in its current phase withe the stage of West quality, and then only then updating to some new standard next year. I'm used to Afghanistan the way it looks now, so I generally wouldn't wait :).

The other new screenshots - Normandy 2.0 and Syria map.

Correct! Thanks!

Especially because of the MiG-23, which I've been waiting for for years. It would be nice to have it in DCS someday. Maybe @OverStratos has full rights to it for now and will continue working on it, but under a different brand?

I flew Chinook today and everything is still ok for me, textures take longer to load but I have a constant 72 FPS, no any drops and problems for me, but ok, I have 24 GB VRAM.
-
Add the mission track too.
-
I'll check Chinook again then, I haven't flown on CH-47 since the last update, maybe something happened. I haven't complained lately and I had a constant 72 fps in VR (at 72Hz) with quite high resolution.

New sound (sample) for OH-58D: Echo 19 Audio Production just posted an update on the Polychop Simulation's DCS: OH-58D Kiowa Warrior audio overhaul they have been working at. Check it out! Echo 19: Over the last few months, we've been slowly working on re-tooling the audio for the amazing Kiowa by Polychop. The dev team has been super supportive of our requests. It has made developing the new sounds a lot easier than anticipated. This new audio package for the Kiowa features new rotor, turbine, tail-rotor, blade slap, and even some new weapon sounds for the M3P. Countless additions include new switches, buttons, and even some new tail-rotor linkage sounds as you move the pedals back and forth. These new sounds would not have been possible without our friends at 45 North Aviation in Traverse City, Michigan, where I recorded their absolutely stunning Bell 407GXP with industry-leading microphones and recording equipment. We even went for a small flight, to get a feel for how a real OH-58D/Bell 407 feels (and sounds) in the skies. A massive thank you to the 45 North crew! Another massive thank you belongs to the Polychop team themselves, for trusting our skills and abilities to not only record, but to help integrate these audio changes in the simulator. We love how passionate their team is for creating amazing products, and it shows! I've attached a short video so you can hear the new improvements that we are wrapping up!

How is that possible, since you have 16GB VRAM, my DCS doesn't take more than 8-12. So you still have some free space but ok, maybe it's an individual case, I won't confirm this without a track.
-
I still think it's not the module's fault, but some performance issues with the computer. Make a Track where you had those 2 FPS and I'll check that mission and will back with info. You can also show your graphics settings.

Don't forget that the MiG-29A will also be EA so if you are waiting for it and want to have it you have to accept the current system or wait probably some period until EA ends for it. Kola map is currently at a really good level. One of the coolest maps. I have Afghanistan and I certainly don't regret buying it too. Honestly, I've been on PG map a bit rescently and there are similar cases reported for Afghanistan and somehow it didn't bother some people that much back then ;). As for the campaign for Iraq, how can you expect it if the map isn't there yet? Add a few months after the release and maybe something will appear, but I don't remember any map having a campaign from the release. I have Iraq in my library and all I want is to be able to fly there, lol .

No any issues for me, Chinook is FPS friendly for me. Maybe its a mod or part of the map when you are. Check on Nevada for example.
