  1. That's right. It's saved in there whenever the user makes changes to the hotas bindings in the Controls tab and clicks "Ok". But the user can also "save profile as" (from the Controls tab respective profile column) using custom filenames into any folder of choice as a backup to reload them in the event of a reinstall.
  2. Yes you are right. But I use to have a T.Flight HotasX some years back and the stick and throttle was saved and loaded as one lua file. Now I have a Warthog hotas and VKB T-rudders, and the stick, throttle and rudders luas are saved and loaded separately.
  3. The error message might go on to say that you have no terrains and modules but don't fret, many on DCS discord have reported that also.
  4. Open beta and SP only, to have the latest features since DCS is largely for me at this time, a ‘waiting’ game of perpetual EAs and updates.
  5. Wow how difficult could it be for the update to delete it.
  6. As in title. Say I am flying the Ka-50 or Mi-24P or F-16. If I press Esc and select Adjust Controls, it will always show AH-64D Pilot controls first. Before 2.8, it would show the controls of the module you were currently flying. This is annoying and if you are not careful you might unknowingly change some common key binding in the AH-64D instead.
  7. The shaking has a bit of a disconcerting feel, like it’s about to enter VRS.
  8. Same here after 2.8, non VR user.
  9. Does make one wonder what kind of quality control checks (if any) go into the updates.
  10. HUD Modes Reticle Night/Day RShift + 8 not cycling also.
  11. Just a wild guess - any double binding to rudders?
  12. Yeah the SKR procedure was just to explain/show what the SKR does. In a real mission, I would also have to enter the coords from the JTAC and look for the target
  13. You are not new to flight sims, I think you'll be ok with the Apache. Not the easiest to learn but it's worthwhile. Apache was my first helo, I managed with a warthog hotas. I am sure you can too. But it will take some effort.
  14. Yeah it does seem to be improving in the background plus users are probably getting better too in the Apache with time. Update: Did more testing and flying. Dodged a few SAMs at low level with lots of evasive maneuvers and did not crash. Was in control surprisingly, without the controls indicator. Hovering is ok when done with a little forward speed but at 0 knots it's still tricky. Definitely better overall, I'd say (and I am just using a standard on the table warthog hotas).
  15. Trim in a real helo is instant. But since that can never be replicated in a regular hotas, this would be a welcomed option. By any chance could “soft trim” be done via a separate software such as joytokey? Is the x moving slowly to the new trim position or instantly after a 2 sec delay?
  16. ED could have delayed the compounded effect in instant trim a tad longer.
  17. Was wondering if you also used the Reaper with moving targets. I tried it on a moving tank column in SP, Atlantic. The Reaper would lase the moving tank but not accurately enough. So the missiles kept hitting near the tank but not on the tank. Stationary targets were ok though.
  18. Just tried JTAC in the Apache with the reaper. Works except that the reaper’s lasing is very inaccurate for moving targets (tanks in the Atlantic map in my test). Could not hit any moving tanks. The missiles just strike near them. Non moving targets are ok.
  19. Selecting SKR (hellfire missile seeker) as ACQ basically allows you to see where the missile is looking at from the CPG TEDAC display. For example, with JTAC/AFAC (or buddy) lasing, point the aircraft at the lased target area. Select SKR as ACQ and you'll see the missile looking at the target with the dotted cross after initiating the Slave command. The cross won't necessarily be exactly on the target. It's just where the seeker is looking. Fire off and missile should hit the lased target (within parameters). Yeah clicking ?00 does not bring up the COORD page. You have to select the COORD button for a TG or the WPTHZ button for a WPT. Did you then put the TEDAC display in TADS mode before slaving? Works on my end. But I find it can be quite inaccurate if clicking with the MPD cursor on the TSD to get a WPT or TG location. Keying in coordinates would be more precise.
  20. It’s more about air density (not within control) than torque (within control). Cold temperatures, lower altitudes and higher pressures all have denser air which aids lift but requires more torque.
  21. I don’t stare at it. I reference it once in a while but mainly for hover. Oh please, it’s completely different from driving a car.
