As in title. Any chance that Deka could give us this mapping option? T2 press has to be held down for DIR AG submode while initiating weapon release (pickle). Would be nice to have a toggle option (like cage/uncage) as I currently have T2 press and pickle on the stick.

Depending on how the sim models things, I'm guessing SPOT (with its narrower azimuth gate) won't do more than give faster contact updates and burn through jamming contacts a little faster?
-
The same can be done with Lock Target without SPOT. So I am not sure how it is supposed to be used. No response from Deka here?

Wasn't able to move radar scan center with TDC. I could with NAR but not with WIDE. UPDATE: Ok, I see it's just the left (up/dn) and bottom (L/R) indicators moving in the A2A Radar page - nothing to indicate scan position on the HUD?
-
I was wondering if the "realistic" option in the ME helps make the list less long.

How to change nose direction in a hover, what is correct way?
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to bies's topic in DCS: AH-64D
A SME could tell you the real world correct procedure. But in this sim, I use to do this with ATT and ALT hold modes on -> pedal just a bit then tap FTR, repeat until desired direction. But now I turn off ATT hold, pedal gently to desired direction, then re-engage ATT hold. But it can all go downhill quickly at times, especially under fire or with wind or a full load. I would be happy if they could just copy the Ka50 when it comes to hovering! -
Attack Group/Unit, is not re-attacking the target if not destroyed

The Max Attack Qty bug has been asked about since 2021. It still does not work as far as I can tell. -
fixed Damage Issue - Tail shot off but tail rotor works
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to FalcoGer's topic in Bugs and Problems
Still flyable and with pedal/yaw -
I have a similar problem right after the update to MT (Open Beta, one primary monitor, 2560x1440). The command rose is now smaller that's ok I guess. For pilot and CPG, it is in the IHADSS view (moves with monocle) which is partially obstructing the view. For the CPG, it is also at the left mid-level, not bottom left like before. I prefer the old positions. Something in the update moved them.

Thanks for the vid. I tried it out and understand what's going on. It actually made me pay attention to the collective. I find the torque effect when raising and lowering the collective rather pronounced. I mean I could basically yaw L/R with the collective Maybe it's because I use a Warthog throttle. That said, I'd imagine the real aircraft exhibits the same logic but to perhaps a lesser extent, as I'd assume safety considerations in the design process would have mitigated such an effect.

In spite of all the 'challenges' flying this aircraft, George puts it in a hover really well (when he's not going into VRS ). Hmm...
-
Yeah, George as pilot goes into VRS quite easily. When that happens, I don't switch seats though but quickly take back control of the stick (press C) and fly out of the downdraft. Then return control to pilot George when stable (C again and AI interface).

Low fps if you fly near trees like in an Apache. Up high it's ok and looks nice. The map seems rather unattended to and not that popular compared to say Syria or the upcoming Normandy 2.

I think I have done something wrong...
GrEaSeLiTeNiN replied to VR Flight Guy in PJ Pants's topic in DCS: AH-64D
I'm guessing you are heavy and at very high MSL. Or does this happen at low MSL also? Check also if you have any double axis binds. -
The Apache to me has strange hover characteristics compared to the other DCS helos. I would describe it as too much momentum (energy) post axis input, not enough damping. Like its large belly mass was not considered for stability. So it rocks back and forth, and sideways like a boat with a very tall sail, drifts and 'capsizes' (rolls) occasionally. Trying to transition from enroute speed into a hover (not those santised IGE hovers) with rudder input to face the desired enemy location, feels at times like this pic.
-
It's the table copied from the old draft English Quick Guide by Deka.
-
I use the tap method with instant trim, helps with the rudder inputs when trying to overcome the SCAS. I would think the real Apache is safer to fly than ED's version. Otherwise, many rookie pilots would have crashed in it for sure.

Wow requested since 2016 - 7 years! I hope they don't let "updates break saves" stop them. It's acceptable that could happen.
-
Busier adults may not have a lot of time to finish longer missions like those by RotorOps having up to 4 zones to conquer which could take a while. Being able to save the progress and resume it at a later time would be a great feature to have in the game's basic mission options.

I can’t help but think all this makes it sound like the Huey and Shark have inaccurate flight characteristics, or otherwise superior flight characteristics, that make it a joy to fly. But I’d imagine the real Apache flies better than the current sim Apache for it to be safe to fly into battle.

Some days it's good, some days not so good. Erratic at times. That's has been the overall development experience for me (regular warthog table top hotas) from day one. It's fun to shoot from, just not so fun to fly in.

I think the map (altitude, temp, wind) makes a diff in the case of the sensitive Apache. Maybe the 'bad experience' was in the mountains of Syria and the seemingly 'better' FM in the South Atlantic coast.
