  1. Bit, When a patch/fix/update is posted for 2.5 beta, does that effect 1.5.8? How stable is 1.5.8xx? What does grabbing torrent files do for the updater that I am effected by? Thanks Laz
  2. Skate, I read that. It indicated that it is one of the last large bugs. That's why I asked Nine to keep us updated on this.
  3. Mr.9- Has this problem with dark cockpits been brought up to the Dev's or put into the proper bug report? Also would you mind keeping us posted on the memory leak situiation? Laz
  4. That is all caps...BIGNEWY...right? err is there a limit on the GB of material we can forward for your close examination? :music_whistling: laz
  5. News So I assume as a employee of ED you are no longer in the printing business? That said, we will now direct all questions, comments, wishes, criticism, suggestions, bug reports and anything else that we can conjure up...err that's applicable too you. Lotta ground to cover. Good luck. :D laz
  6. Noticed that the cockpit sold for 4150.00 including shipping. :music_whistling: Laz
  7. I notice on ebay this sale..... "These are A-10A Warthog cockpit instrument panel and the side consoles, control grip with the control stick and the middle panel with TISL Control(Missing 1 switch)/circuit breaker panel. Most of these instruments are simulator/actual parts. TV monitor on the right side of the panel is just a plastic mock-up of the monitor. Also, left hydraulic pressure gauge near the TV monitor may not be the original pressure gauge." This is really cool. I think the only thing missing is the rudder pedals. eBay item number:122961733706 Current price is 2800.00 plus shipping. Seems fair considering how much building one from scratch would cost. Laz :D
  8. About carrier operations..........who is developing it?

    Any estimate

Thanks for all the remarks and information. Its very reassuring that probably a lot are not having any major problems and this version is running rather ......smoothly. Its also great to hear that installs on new systems with required specifications are running great. Next week I will take the plunge and load everything...all modules, maps, etc. I have waited for over 5 years and 3 new systems that were never turned on waiting for this day. My new system is raring to go. This week I have to attend to the Microscope. :D  As an aside idea, would it be possible for Wags (Matt) to get photos of all the programmers, artists, employees, Directors/Owners teams, and a photo of their offices at ED? (The last photo I have is from my manual for SU-27 of the team at that time, probably all retired now..lol.) And Matt, are you planning on attending the Flight Sims Expo's in LasVegas or Dallas? :music_whistling: Laz

    Any estimate

Semantics, well trying to understand the verbiage around here is hmmmmm very confusing. With many different languages there is probably 100 different understandings of that word here on this site. Sukebe, if your setup (errr your system/computer) does not crash, I mentioned in my first post I would like to know what your system specifications are, and any tweeks you use. I used the word stable as I have read here that it is what is trying to be achieved..finally with this software.

    Any estimate

So what is the latest educated estimate on the stable release of 2.5? Another week, another month? Please no " when its ready its ready".:D Is anyone experiencing a stable version on their setup? If so please post your setups. I am more interested in single player...thanks. :music_whistling: ( One of my most wanted devices arrived last Friday) Hitachi Scanning Electron Microscope ) :D Laz
  12. I am curious, I will wait until ED has a chance to investigate/repair any issues brought up by all the folks beta testing. When this released version(2.5) is available I am going to assume that it will have the new installer and that it will load onto a completely bare system without any of the older versions. OR will I have to load any of the older versions so the loader will not get lost if it finds no older versions? It will be a completely new install. Not an upgrade from 1.5xx to 2.5.
  13. Thanks, I will wait for the standalone installer. I find if multiple questions are asked in one post many are not answered. Laz
  14. Perhaps I can get an answer this time....Do I have to have 1.58 or 2.xxxx or some older version? I will have nothing on the new machine...nothing but the OS. So I have to have an older version so when 2.5 loads it can find what it needs to upgrade. I just want to load the new 2.5 and all the modules I have purchased and never activated. Laz
  15. Here is an easy one. My new computer has nothing on it. No operating system. ( Should I use Windows 10 or Windows 7?) I have never enabled/put the license number on any module. So I am hoping when the final release ( 2 weeks????) becomes available I will proceed to download everything onto my system. I will then activate all modules for the first time. The only playing I do now is with the free trial with the P-51 and the Su-25 and old versions of FC. I have copied almost all of my modules but I did that last June so I am sure they are all out of date. Question...will 2.5 update all my modules? Shadow...sleep with one eye open...always..lol. I have noticed that when I play the trial version on my other machine ( 2600 8gb 2-old 6800 Radion 1gb in SLI that after a few minutes BANG...the machine starts using both cards. Go figure? When I start loading everything from the git-go am I going to have to load some of the older versions, thinking that the software will be looking for old versions to update??? Thanks for any help. Sorry to add any more confusion. Laz
  16. Excuse me while I clear my head...been reading about the 2.5 upgrade...what a conundrum. I have a Sony Play Station lll. I have a hotas that is made for it. It is very similar to the Saitek X-52. I paid 100.00 new for it and ordered it from a mfg. in China. It works very well. Going to the local Game Stop...they said there were no hotas controllers for PS/Xbox ??. At least with a console one does not have to reconfigure/reinstall/rewrite/re....etc ad nauseam every week with each new change/upgrade/fix/bug repair. Yep about every year or so a new version of some titles appears. And alas new consoles come out with better electronics. The PC titles in the game stores are non-existent. I have several flight sims and racing games for the console. They are fun. I also have a new computer waiting till the dust settles on 2.5 before I install it...for the first time. I have paid thirty times more on DCS flight sim and hardware than my little console. If DCS ever ports to a console...I will be first in line. Just think...no more waiting, no more constant tweaking with all the changing....just buy the cartridge, insert, play. New titles...same just purchase new titles ( aircraft-maps-ad ons) plug in and play. It will run without any problems because it has too. Laz
  17. Johnny Rico, bungee cords....I have never heard my hard drives make any noise. Maybe yours are on their final hours. Try putting in all the screws....or use the latest plastic holders. Laz
  18. Just purchased the 56.... Logitech Gaming G Saitek Pro Flight X56 Rhino HOTAS Item price $125.00. Free shipping. Rebuilt....with guarantee. You could purchase 3 of these units for what NewEgg wants. So with the failure rate of 1 year....you would have 3 years and a bunch of spare parts. Laz

    2.5 Size?

All these suggestions are clear as mud.....kinda like the........ update/patch/fix/move/repair/1.5xxxx/2.1xxx/stable/released/ edit/copy/search/reinstall/what version?/which update?/ when?/ new build/ new engine/ new graphics/ trains/ground troops/mod to fix/ mod to repair/5K of info on how to fix newest stable version to be stable/ etc. A degree in computer science...................LOL Laz
  20. Every time I read about the thrustmaster warthog I am reminded of when it first came out and all the hype and the oohs and aahs and how great it was and the action and build was just so great and wonderful the hype and fan club noise was deafening .........then the reality hit. The mechanism was poor, no better than other products available at the time....then the TM-hog started its famous bricking. Very expensive and not worth it. I now wonder at the oohs and aahs and hype of the newer throttles and stick mentioned here. They are now nearing 1000.00. And these are not the professional setups. I also note that the availability of many of these is always a hit/miss proposition with extended times of builds, not to mention changes in design. I also find that these products from Europe, the shipping and payment process is lengthy and convoluted. I know that building in small quantities equals high prices. Do your homework.
  21. Translation What is bone, buff, stab aug, fbw, ewo, dso, tps studs...............
  22. Not only CA but all the rest........ If 2.2xxx is any indication of the up coming 2.5 merge......ya I would think ED programmers are up to their armpits in alligators. Four weeks till the hammer falls.
  23. Hey guys...lighten up..unless you spend days reading the numerous inapt posts here you may miss the renaming/re-banding/forever changing, monotonous, condescending referrals to posts buried in more reply's that continuously obfuscate the OP's original questions and help in finding truly relevant information. Which usually takes less time answering than you taking on the role of moderator.
  24. I do not have an account with Facebook. What did this post say? Lazduc
  25. I have been building computers and aircraft and electronic devices seems like forever. LOL I will post a few photos of my WW2 Link Trainer project. I enjoy it very much. I retired from Hewlett-Packard where I developed and built mechanical/programming and electronic testing platforms and programs. Besides being bicycle affectionado, a number of us engineers, were into flight simulators. It also helped that one of the major Drone manufactures is just down the road. And of course Intel and Nvidia were also a couple of stone throws away. There is also a group who's interest is Rockets...large ones...need FAA approval to fly. Lazduc
