Creative seems to be updating their drivers for windows 7 and 8. I have the x-fi titanium and the only issue I've had with the newest driver was that my settings would save. A quick sleep instead of a shutdown fixed the problem. As for the op question if your not using quality speakers or a quality headset you won't notice a difference in sound quality.

The sound quality is better if you have good speakers or headset. If you use the optical(fiber optic) output to an external receiver there won't be any difference since the processing is external. As for performance/fps increase it would be zero to minimal. As of vista Microsoft removed the sound Hal so the CPU is still used to process DirectX sound. You may see minimal improvement in performance with openal software since it still allows hardware sound processing. Creative alchemy can reenable hardware based sound by intercepting the DirectSound calls and converting them to openal.

I can see the forum posts now. "I lost one of my 7 dongles...how can I get a new one." Maybe they could make a dongle you could update. Buy a module and it automatically adds it to your dongle.

Could be a driver issue. I have an x52 non pro that's about 4 yrs old. I've noticed a bad connection to the USB port causes the lights to work but the msd panel wont light up. I've not had the other problems you have described but maybe try a different USB port. It does look like a software problem though.

Yeah only one curve per plane. You could adjust the sensitivity in saitek profiler with the mode switch. However a curve is not possible. It would be a straight line sensitivity adjustment. Although combined with the dcs curve im guessing you could make something work.

Not a curve setting. All you get is sensitivity. Would you really want to hold a shiftstate button while moving the stick to change sensitivity.

In the profile editor you have to find your axis and switch it to the axis assignment. The default is fallback. Then you will get a + slider to adjust sensitivity. There is no option for a dead zone that I found. I haven't tried using it but I would think you could get a different setting using the 3 modes within one profile.

If upgrading is not an option and depending what modules you are trying to fly you could try an older version of dcs world with the 3gb fix. I can't recall if it was 1.2.4 or 1.2.5 where the 32bit crashes really picked up. If its A10 or BS2 you could try the pre world versions.

The memory would be your problem. Dcs has passed 32bit windows and the memory constraint. The minimum ram from the requirements is now 6gb. From your dxdiag it looks like you only have about 3gb available.

From what I've read although I couldn't confirm. AMD tested crossfired 290x on pci2.0x8 without major performance loss. Like I said I couldn't confirm so take this with a grain of salt.

No...none of the fc3 training is interactive. Its just video training.

I know they were talking about adding the gift option. You could do it either through steam if the module you want is on there. Or there is a way to purchase from the ed store then unbind the serial number from your account. It will then bind to the new account when connecting to multiplayer.

Do they have drivers or are they just plug and play? I had to uninstall clean and reinstall my soundcard drivers when I upgraded to 8.1. On my fsx issue I tried the new beta driver and still no luck. Clicking the preview dx10 seems to have fixed the ctd.

Anyone having issues with fsx after installing 8.1? It runs but the esc key during flight crashes fsx without an error or log.

Youre trying the x52 drivers and not the x52 pro driver correct? When I redownloaded the drivers I completely missed the x52 non pro drivers. The driver website has the non pro driver in a different drop down menu.

Did you purchase from the ED store or somewhere else? You would need to use your ED store login not the forum login. The serial is tied to your store account.

True. The 270x at least for most of the games from the review is faster than the 7950 boost and just slightly behind on a couple.

If you can wait a little while the r9-270 will be priced around 200usd. From the reviews I've read it looks to be on pace with the 7950.
