I'm pretty sure it shouldn't be the case in-flight and I'm absolutely sure it shouldn't be the case on ground https://youtu.be/pJIakZ74ycw bug F-5E REM audio afterburner audible only well within rear hemisphere.trk

[Audio] volume of sonic boom deafening despite low World slider setting
Bucic replied to Bucic's topic in Bugs and Problems
The sonic boom is several times louder in DCS on my end than comfortable level for any other external audio, including 2 meters from active afterburners. It even caused me an ear ringing once when I switched from high in-ckockpit volume (still in comfortable zone). Before you start to amuse me by explaining to me how in real life sonic booms are mighty loud - games use audio dynamic range compression. -
I have set the Audio sliders so that the cocpit is equally loud (or even louder) to the loudest external audio sound. This works reliably except for sonic boom flyby's. For the recording I have set the volume so that it's near the limit of comfortability for me. I had to remove the headphones at least partially before initiating the external flyby. Over-ear headphones Same with speakers. It doesn't matter. https://youtu.be/4CdkFnICjt4 bug F-5E REM audio volume of sonic boom deafening.trk

It was as Cryptic as I could muster, yeah And a good opportunity to sympathise with our significant others

It's weird that you mention the labels as a positive because they come with serious issues across the entire cockpit. I'm going to report specific cockpit issues separately.

Same with the cannon bay doors.

It will come later.

It was a joke guys, geeeez But my eyes are bleeding Can't wait for some freaking sanity in DCS lighting!

Just look at that landing gear detail! (video still processing)

@NineLine You said that some new information is coming after this Friday regarding the released Upgrade and maybe some future plans. Did you mean a FAQ/Q&A of sorts or something else? I don't know if you're accepting Q's but I already have a juicy one that's been bugging me since I learned about the Upgrade Q: Is there a rough timeline for the upgraded landing gear physics for the F-5E? It has been said that not only warbirds are getting the new rubbers.
-
Good question. I don't think there's a trace of the new fog in the old F-5E Instant Action - Take off 1 mission Apart from new heavy flickering down south from Batumi along the coastline.
-
Encrypted skins? What are you guys talking about? My state of knowledge is that only 3D models are encrypted, which is understandable.
-
NineLine said there's going to be A LOT more information on the update. One may reasonably expect there's going to be some information on the ModelViewer capability with regard to the "new 5" assets. The template has already been confirmed.

They are too eager to ignite now It's pretty much impossible for me to tap "slow afterburner increase" to go from 90% to even 95%. The pointer stays at 90% and after several very short taps the AB kicks in.

OK, drift replicated. It seems that it can be triggered on command, e.g. an ADI drift to the right can be triggered by a wide right turn. As you can see in my afternoon test flight I follow by "pushing the drift" to the left by a wide left turn. I triggered the bug in 10 minutes and that includes the takeoff and climb. What seems to be the problem is while there is an internal mechanism facilitating ........................... self-centering when in unaccelerated straight and level flight the threshold values used for detection of the conditions for self-centering are incorrect (too wide) so the ADI tries to level itself in shallow turns. This would explain the possibility to "reverse the drift" directly following a drift accurence. OK, at this point I'm going to need further pointers as to what type of tracks to gather. I'm out of ideas for now. https://youtu.be/Nrb2TNouzEE Track: please disregard the second half of the track after 11th minute mark. bug F-5E UPG ADI still 02 2024-12-05 replicated.trk

Could you post a lionk please?

Reveal the hidden contents in the OP.

There used to be a mod for Legacy 5 that removed the need to select any coalitions.

Being a member of this community for so long I sure hope the need to come out clean on ED's part is going to prevail over an irk to simply delete my post. So let me plainly ask, who is the cotact person to report cases such as this?
-
Notably the backup ADI did not follow the main ADI in the flipping process

Guys, could you check with "Hear like in helmet" OFF? This guy flies with the option OFF. I always have it ON. Now, I've never heard roll effect to produce such a distinct audio but I don't know whether it's because I'm using Hear like in helmet or is it a new effect, related to the supposed hard pitch command. https://youtu.be/ZD57BGIuOUM?t=106 EDIT: Never mind. He's using a sound mod.

Done. This time around I concentrated on doing a shorter stint to make the ADI did something weird and I sure managed to. It flipps in a way I haven't seen in the legacy module. But no drift was present during the flight. Next I'll try to record a track of anctual Upgrade ADI drift, as I witnessed yesterday. Flight profile: Instant Action take off 1 flat wide turns and split S with initial climb, then level Youtube video uploading to confirm we're seeing the same flips. The video starts right after I saw the first flip to make it occur again. It did. https://youtu.be/JaQuUKjggsE In the legacy version it was enough for me to turn 90 deg on the ground to taxiway to induce a significant change in drift (see my previous youtube upload). As you can see, this time it was not the case. I even caused the 5 to make a 180 deg rapid twister skid. No ADI drift observed. bug F-5E UPG ADI still 01 2024-12-05.trk
