  1. @agrasyukAh, yes, the 'myself' is the most important assembly In this day and age a 2-week lack of self awareness on own state of mind or personal matters may slide into a costly situation. All the best to you! I'm kind of lost in your threads since they span 6 years or so and I've just discovered them. I've noticed you used a laser print on paper laminated in office lamination pouches for panel letterings. Have you tried matt ones (matte???) insted of the regular shiny ones? I think they might look better but that's just my hunch. Do you still rely on laminated panels or have you moved to another process?
  2. @MAXsenna The page 193 screenshot is from the "before taxiing" manual section, so on the ground, therefore the spring stops are disengaged and the stop indicators on the RCtrl+ENTER indicator are not present. I'm not saying your whole bug report is invalid. Just that part
  3. @Flappie In case you need the real deflection values, they're in my simpit thread, spreadsheet attachment. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/318106-f-5e-simpit-cockpit-dimensions-and-flight-controls/
  4. The bug is gone for me on DCS 2.8.8.43489 Open Beta. I haven't updated to the minor latest version yet.
  5. Coincidentally, ED had to introduce an 2FA requirement recently for the trial program.
  6. Yep, at the end of the following video you can see the AIM got flare-blind. Bot, to the flares already falling and the newly deployed ones. Throughout the video I probe other objects for AIM sensitivity. At one point it acquires an Su-22 5.5 km out from his 10 o'clock. Attached are all my 'buggy AIM' related tracks. Most of them probably not in the "respect Flappie's time" mode but hey. Consider them optional bug F-5E sidewinder P no lock Bucic.7z Mi-24 summed up
  7. To anyone reading this, that's the only reason the OP won't be facing the problem with controller GUID identifier mismatch. At least to my knowledge. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/84289-backup-and-restore-input-files-always-a-problem/
  8. I'm going to try to catch an occurrence of that bug again. I think I've got the flares issue on one of my video recordings. Also, with the heat suppressors the 24 has I don't think rear/front should make a big difference. Top/bottom rather
  9. I don't quite remember the scenario but I seriously doubt I'd go for a bug report if it was only about front aspect. Also, I specifically mentioned flares. Flares have no aspect I'll review the track sometime later or provide a clearer proof of rear aspect case. EDIT: Three more (loose) details: 1. I've played the mission to death. 2. Mi-24's in DCS are flying glitches. 3. I often "look up the pipes" of Mi-24 before firing a missile.
  10. While the pace of bug fixing for F-5E leaves a lot to be desired the openness to review bug reports is exemplary. Isolate an issue and post a bug report about it. Otherwise it's all vague. With all the opinionanated postings, especially about FM, it's no wonder noone from ED is chiming in to 'discuss our feelings.' The aerobraking seems to be a good example. F-5E doesn't have the control authority to perform a prolonged aerobraking. And even if the conditions are right the window is too short to make sense. To me it's 'airshow infestation'. To be able to do aerobraking you have to go in steeper and faster. While the first one is an option, the latter defeats the purpose. Speaking of short window, you do have to/should leave an airspeed margin to be able to lower the nose wheel gently instead of slamming it down. Unstable TO: Verify correct trim up preset and even lower it a bit. Instant action TO mission for example sets a huge ~30% stick back trim at the start of the mission for an aircraft with basically no ordnance. Rotation speed too high. Not per manual, per in-game conditions. Try rotating earlier. Attitude should be controlled 'by the horizon' not 'by stick.' The following video shows time between pulling on the stick to rotation to be less than 1 second https://youtu.be/ohGpGzCIS08?t=250 To contradict my point (?) https://youtu.be/RugT96MHSfg?t=533 RL instructor pilot Tim Davies aka FJP Master F-5 Circuits Like a Pro: Expert Tips from a Real RAF Flying Instructor - YouTube — No I haven't I will proceed to read it now <in Zuck tone> https://imgix.bustle.com/inverse/89/2a/5c/9b/88bc/4be4/a7a5/8ac2f03608d5/a-really-good-memesubmitted-by-to-rzuckmemes-by-user-doors1pp1-margin-00px-00px-00px-00.jpeg
  11. Just so we're at the same page. Limiter spring (spring limiter?) is only present in roll channel and the implementation in DCS is very logical. Then, are you going to edit the long post about your findings? Or post a bug report on 'incorrect controls indicator'?
  12. I will
  13. Testing hands-off at rotation speed I found the "by the book" (the DCS manual) trim numbers to be a tad too aggressive. I do take into account though that with poor controls trimming too far nose-down makes up for joystick centering mechanism inadequacy.

  15. Does anyone have the DCS F-5E rick and morty meme downloaded? It's about to get historical. NFT-worthy even As the bug in question has been isolated and the fix is in the works! https://forum.dcs.world/topic/288354-dont-sneeze-on-the-f-5s-wings/?do=findComment&comment=5286425
  16. @MAXsenna You said pitch. Was it an error? I'm talking about roll.
  17. I can't seem to find such option on mobile site. Tapping on the looking glass icon brings me directly to https://forum.dcs.world/search/
  18. Unless there's something I don't know, FFB doesn't change the stick travel range. FFB can't give back what DCS didn't take DCS doesn't do any re-mapping based on landing gear position. No matter the gear position 20% of joystick deflection gives the same in-game command. EDIT: I was wrong. Read on below.
  19. Yes, half of "your problem" is high wing loading and yes it's going to be much worse with F-104 You may also be 'always too slow.' There's a 5 vs 2000 dogfight video by Longshot on Youtube. Take a look what F-5E can do if you feed it well with airspeed. Almost the entire fight Longshot kept the 5 in vertical plane! Buffet feedback: I'm not a fan of head bobbing effects but I think it may help. https://youtu.be/hvU4PiR888M?t=123 And you are right. No audio feedback. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/333449-no-audio-feedback-on-buffeting/ Stick - roll: Yes, it's touchy and yes a good centering helps. Both in case of precision and centering I learned that X-Box controllers are of better design than most of cheap/medium-price joysticks on the market. While I use only about 2% of deadzone, I did go for saturation tuning, subtracting some 15% of roll authority. Also note F-5E doesn't give you full range of stick motion with landing gear up. I describe it in detail here https://forum.dcs.world/topic/318106-f-5e-simpit-cockpit-dimensions-and-flight-controls/ Here's my empty F-5E flight DCS low GAMMA setting and Xbox controller - F-5E leisure flying and landing - YouTube — https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ErPZtSwVsgM EDIT: The screenshot shows my current Xbox controller settings. You can achieve a lot with a combination of curvature and saturation. Try with 15% curvature, 90% saturation, 1% dead zone for Roll axis and see how it feels then.
  20. I've just realized it. There's nothing, quite literally. Are there any audio samples that are supposed to be audible but arent? https://youtu.be/hvU4PiR888M?t=123 https://youtu.be/hvU4PiR888M?t=210
  21. Ah, so this is the beauty you've been probing with a tape measure? Nice project. It's worth enabling forum signatures from time to time... Any updates?
  22. Start a new topic then. This one is about cockpit dimensions.
